Thank you so much Jewel, that was incredibly helpful. I looked at a couple of other videos about finishing the back of the canvas and they were not nearly as informative. I also appreciate that you've done a video on how to pack and ship your paintings! I'm so glad that I found your channel and I look forward to watching your art videos! 😄
I so used to do the same thing when I was in grad school in my art programs. Our teachers wanted to show us how to do it the old fashion way. Great video and happily subscribed,
Thank you very much. The brush idea was spot on because I already have them and no need to buy 😉 (got them from $ store for readers) VS another creator had the roller brush great idea but I don't have and I don't have time. Bless you
Thank you! This is a great idea. I've been wondering where to put the titles on my paintings on the back of the stretched canvas? Do you have any ideas for that? Much appreciated.
Nice clear how to. Thanks! But did you notice your width was 11" and your center point for the hanging bracket should have been at 5.5"? You attached it too far to the left.
Well, I don't like hot glue on anything, especially art. And I don't like those little nail-on hangers. When I encounter old canvases I always remove those.
so not only are we putting hot glue on a painting (poor conservators) we are also making sure that should anyone ever remove the backing-and given it is simple paper they probably will once it rips-no one will have any idea who made the thing.
You can absolutely sign the canvas before adding any backing. And there are numerous ways to affix the backing. Hot glue happened to be an easy choice. There are different styles/ideas for everyone. 🤷🏻♀️
These instruction videos are so awesome! Thanks for sharing
Very professional! Thank you so much. People seem to show the painting and never the backing.
I never have considered to beautify the back of my paintings like this. You make it look so easy!
Thank you! When you're selling especially, it gives it that extra something I think.
This was very pleasant to watch! Very informing! Thank you for your help!
Nice finishing touch to the canvas 💜
Interesting process! What a calm and relaxing video too 😌

So clear. It looks great! Awesome tutorial.

Yeah absolutely. If there if a frame you can title that too. :)
Awsome! May i ask why you put the draft paper? Is it only for hide marks and away from dust?
Yeah! Thanks for asking. It just makes for a cleaner more professional finishing. It's all optional of course.
Nice clear how to. Thanks! But did you notice your width was 11" and your center point for the hanging bracket should have been at 5.5"? You attached it too far to the left.
Yep! Lol I normally eyeball it and it's great and the one time I measure, I do the math wrong :-P Thanks for watching!
@@christinajewell11 Still a great video! I enjoy them. :)
What does the bump ons do?
It keeps the painting away from the wall on the bottom balancing where the nail is on top
Instead of craft paper is glueing wood to the back of it okay?
if it's thin, I'd say absolutely! Great idea!
