This is great advice. I get vestibular dizziness with Menieres Disease and I’m sure that both the cap and the book will help me. Thank you very much. I’m glad you’re getting some relief. Long May it continue for you, Karen. ❤

Thanks for telling us about this book! I watched a video called "Breakthrough with Healing Chronic Pain" that was pretty good. The speaker says that the pain is real, but that it is protection from intense negative thoughts and feelings we cannot confront. Millions of brain cells connect into pathways and emotional pain activates the exact parts of the brain that activate physical pain. So we can say to our brain "I'm going for a walk today. You can make this easy or difficult. But this is how it's going to be." This way we are changing our neural pathways. It has been helping, :))

Yes, that sounds like Neuroplasticity when you tell your brain about going for a walk. For me its more "No thanks Migraine, I don't need you, there is no emergency, I am safe, I can deal with what life brings today" :0) x

Very interesting! I have colitis and it doesn't cause so much constant pain as discomfort and anxiety and panic at not having proximity to a bathroom at all times. It makes it very difficult to go everywhere I want to and to travel like I wish to. I'm curious about the amitryptoline. I currently take generic lexapro but after reading about what you're taking (albeit for different reasons) I wonder if it might help me. I also have difficulty sleeping! Constipation would actually be a welcome side effect lol. Did you have many side effects from it, may I ask?

I do know a friend of mine that took it for tummy problems and it helped so definitely worth asking! The side effects at first are pretty intense - dry mouth and sleepiness. I was lucky in that I had 2 months of not having to work when I started taking it so I basically would be sleeping almost 24/7 - I'd get up at 10am and go back to bed at 12pm and couldn't stay awake past 7pm. That tapers off over a month or so and now I get up at 6.30am and sleep at 9pm and it helps me sleep through. I still have a bit of a dry mouth but those are the only side effects I've had. Nortriptyline is a more modern version and I believe doesn't have the same issues with daytime tiredness. Best of luck! x
