I find Vancouver to be hostile. Rent are expensive and overrated (I am in fact Belgian and grew up in France just to give you some context); buying a house is an “insult” (this is why I plan to buy in Europe instead as it is 2-3 times cheaper if I buy in some towns in France or Belgium) and many people in Vancouver seem to be unhappy and frustrated by where their lives has taken them! In regards to the girls here, I found them to be “nice” but in fact, they are just nice on the surface only (if I have to compare it to my experience of girls in France or Belgium). In Vancouver, most girls are very “money oriented” (yes and many of them date “sugar daddies but that is not known outside Canada, right?) and so many look for financial security in a partner than a sane relationship! I am not astonished to see why so many end up being unhappy, depressed suffering in their relationship and above all… end up being alone (and end up using dildos) and regretting their lives years later! After having lived in this place for 8 years (a place which I would leave behind soon hopefully as we are heading back to Europe soon), I am so glad to leave this place for good! Many relationships here are fake and superficial (compared to Europe) And it is a city where sooooo many girls (they pretend they are not) are sooo lonely.. now I am ni longer astonished why dildos sell so well!!! This is why so many (people and Vancouver girls) Here smoke pits and end up being depressed or having lots of mental disorders! Now on top of that, I hate their hospitals where you have to wait for everything (in Belgium that has never existed), and dislike those fake social interactions that many think it is worth something when in fact, it is just superficial-ness, illusion and coldness. I strong believe that Canada is “worth it” but providing that you are thinking of it as a place to pass by, not retire or immigrate for ever!
Nice video 😍. I still got my eyes on Canada. I live in the UK and wondered if one can secure a mortgage in Canada within one year of relocation? We’ve got a house here.
Basically, getting something now and paying for it later - "buying on credit". Also: How "safe" you are considered to be to loan money to - if you have "good credit" you can borrow more money at a lower interest rate; if you have "bad credit", you may not be able to borrow money at all.
Can you talk about Loans and Credit scores more. For people coming in from Nigerian as students or PR. What should you kkow about credit scores and debts, etc.
Saddle up, get your tea, this could take a while: Im talking from the UK but honestly, its the exact same thing, both countries operate very similar systems, they have the same Queen after all lol. Credit scores are a National score chart which a lender uses to judge you to assess your suitability for a lending facility. They are judging the risk to lend you money, the higher your score the better. A. In order to start building your score, you need to get something in your name to your address such as a telephone landline, internet wifi, water and electricity bill e.t.c when you move abroad. After a while, of consistent bill paying, no missed payment, e.t.c your credit builds in the background.(you can check on equifax.com to see your score) 1. How it works: Example, you see a £10,000 car, but you dont have the money so you want to borrow. You can borrow from Banks or other lending businesses(loan sharks, more on that later). 2. You go to your bank, if your credit score is good, they will give you the money, with a really good score you may pay back like £10,700 or something like that, with a fair score maybe £11,000.( These are indicative random examples. Banks are the best place to borrow, lower interest rates when you pay back). 3. If you miss any of your bills e.g phone, or didnt make one of your payments e.g bank overdraft, it is recorded against your score. Then you have a bad score.(It is called a default on payment). 4. *WARNING ALERT* it is an absolute nightmare and will stay on your record for 6 years!!! and it's a bloody royal pain in the butt to raise it back up, but easy to bring down. The most annoying part of this, anytime any lender checks your score, your score automatically falls down a little as well.(its not like they have approved your lending but it still affects your score). 5. This means with a bad score, any future borrowing, mortgage, contract phone package, car loan e.t.c will likely get rejected from your bank. 6. This now leaves you with "loan sharks" these are small profit making lending companies that may give you a loan because they know you have bad credit but with extremely high interest rate. So you borrow £10,000 you could end up paying back £13,500 and upwards easily!!!(no exaggeration). 7. I'm going to sound like a wise "Mr Miyagi" now, but i'm not that old. My personal advice, try to avoid unnecessary lending, make sure you develop a savings habit from day one if you get a part time job. If you need a car, buy a second hand one, may nice cars abroad and used well.(unless your folks are rich or something) pay cash and get it over with. Don't get a loan it will hurt you to see it come out of your bank every month trust me. 8. Save lending for very important things so your credit score is high. like mortgage, or even to rent, because even to rent your own place they will check your score to see how responsible you are, they dont want to chase you for rent. It's not like Nigeria where you pay 2 years in advance. There's another double edged sword i have left out, "credit cards" but thats another story i've said too much, lol.
With most cases I’ve seen, people from UK still need a guarantor because the credit factors/rating is a bit different. It also depends on the landlord as some are understanding and some aren’t. They will need your employment to be in Canada.
@@TobiDerin oh i see, thanks for the response, i dont know anyone that could be my guarentor, but if my credit is excellent in the UK i reckon it should be fine for canada too?
Gracia Kinyanjui Yeah, to live for some and to visit for some. Just depends on why you’re moving and your personal circumstance. But it’s a beautiful and good country. Thanks for watching! 💕
It depends on the phone plan one has. The cheaper plans usually have less data. I have 20gb data on my phone but I don’t pay a lot because the line I use is a cheap one, haha 😃
I think America is better, but I've never had to go through immigration in America so not sure! I think the Canadian weather is difficult and it may always be difficult. This is coming from someone who is from Virginia and not Nigeria which I imagine would be a huge shock! Also, keep in mind that though Canadians are nice, they aren't necessarily going to welcome foreigners with open arms as they can be hard to get to know...and sometimes I find them to be too politically correct. To the point where it interferes with freedom of speech. I think if you are from a country that isn't super westernized where feminism and progressivism are super important (and maybe you're religious) Canada might be annoying to live in as well. Teachers in schools here, and the public school system, have their progressive values that they will try to push on children in schools, so you should be aware of what values you want your children to get from the schools (especially if you're a religious parent).

Based on all you have said in this video, i would say that living in Nigeria is far better than moving to Canada if you have made money. You will enjoy your life more in Nigeria than in Canada.
You covered it well but you didn't discuss partner relationships lol. I tell people to have a potential partner before relocating...let's link up for more gist!
@@obedmensah8276 Could be hard to find a partner that shares your values or prefers your background in a different culture. Also, living single is more expensive than having a partner because utility (benefits) of some of the huge bills you pay could have been shared between you both e.g. rent, car loan, mortgage and insurance

Saddle up, get your tea, this could take a while:
Im talking from the UK but honestly, its the exact same thing, both countries operate very similar systems, they have the same Queen after all lol.
After a while, of consistent bill paying, no missed payment, e.t.c your credit builds in the background.(you can check on equifax.com to see your score)
There's another double edged sword i have left out, "credit cards" but thats another story i've said too much, lol.
thanks for this! if you are already on a high income with good credit in your own country (UK) will you still need a guarentor?
With most cases I’ve seen, people from UK still need a guarantor because the credit factors/rating is a bit different. It also depends on the landlord as some are understanding and some aren’t. They will need your employment to be in Canada.
@@TobiDerin oh i see, thanks for the response, i dont know anyone that could be my guarentor, but if my credit is excellent in the UK i reckon it should be fine for canada too?
canada is a beautiful place to live or visit
Gracia Kinyanjui Yeah, to live for some and to visit for some. Just depends on why you’re moving and your personal circumstance. But it’s a beautiful and good country. Thanks for watching! 💕
How can I get a work permit if you come with a visitor visa. Pls what are the process, is it possible and how easy it easy.
If you want to work, you nead a work visa. It is illegal to work with a visitor visa.
Pls wats is the Canadian experience
Just came across your channel... really love your content. Good job.. new subscriber.... Can't you live without credit in Canada?
Informative
Is the phone bill for unlimited duration in the month?
It depends on the phone plan one has. The cheaper plans usually have less data. I have 20gb data on my phone but I don’t pay a lot because the line I use is a cheap one, haha 😃
And please what’s your take on migrating to Canada with ACCA qualification
Can a nurse make it in Canada? What is the easy way for a nurse to come to and work in Canada?
May I know the university you attended in Canada?
Everything u said about Canada is almost the same for Germany except for language & jobs.
What do you mean by Canadian experiences?
Like work/career experience in Canada.
Excellent
Enogheghase Kennedy Thank you! 💕
Norway, UK vs Canada?
Hmm 🤔, great question.. depends on what your want all countries will have their pros and cons.
Please do a video on starting a business in Canada 🙏🏽 also what uni did you go to? New subscriber ❤️

@@TobiDerin I would really love to watch a realistic video like this on having a business in Canada I am seriously considering it.
Yes it would be great to know how is to run a business in Canadá, is it difficult? What is the process, what kind of institutions are involved for that purpose....
Thank you for sharing the reality of Canada!
Mrs Tobi, I don't know how to speak to u directly. Meanwhile, my mail has not been responded to. I need other means of connecting you other than email pls
Hi Elijah, really sorry about that. I have a lot of emails to respond to and some are really lengthy so it takes time to respond. I reply on faster on UA-cam because most comments aren’t long and don’t require in depth replies. Thanks for being patient, I will try to respond to emails before then weekend as I also have work 😩. Thanks for understanding.
@@TobiDerin I understand you. No problem, I will be waiting for your reply. Thanks
My questions is does that mean know joys the new people??????? .......

Two years ago blackout ah ah!..come to Nigeria , every two days🤣🤣🤣
Lool or every hour, for weeks sef 😂😩😩😩 NEPA ehn
Based on all you have said in this video, i would say that living in Nigeria is far better than moving to Canada if you have made money. You will enjoy your life more in Nigeria than in Canada.
True
the only left to be fixed in nigeria is the culture of mistakes....most people do not double check their work prior to submission....
You covered it well but you didn't discuss partner relationships lol. I tell people to have a potential partner before relocating...let's link up for more gist!
Can you kindly elaborate?
@@obedmensah8276 Could be hard to find a partner that shares your values or prefers your background in a different culture. Also, living single is more expensive than having a partner because utility (benefits) of some of the huge bills you pay could have been shared between you both e.g. rent, car loan, mortgage and insurance
How's the covid 19 affecting Canada?
Places had started opening up a while ago but there’s fear of a second wave happening. In my province Ontario, the numbers have been going up again so covid laws are getting tighter again. I pray everyone stays safe! 🙏🏾
What about in British Columbia, vacuover
funny jokes &comedies I haven’t read the news about that region but last thing I saw yesterday about it is that they are training laid off servers to start working in healthcare so cases might be going up again...not sure.

Hello Tobi, what do you think about coming to Canada as an international student from Nigeria to study international business at NSCC. The end goal is to migrate to Canada. Do you think it’s necessary to hire an immigration consultant? Please your honest reviews about my course and province ( Nova Scotia)
Omg. Tobi, I truly enjoyed your video so much. It's so well informed 👏
Healthcare in Ghana is also free🤗
Really free in Ghana???
Hahaha
Cost of living in Toronto is very expensive. High tax , high insurance. But we have "free" healthcare, clean roads. It's TRUE it is hard to get rich in Canada
