One of the best rendition of Raag Marwa I have heard so far. serene meditative and peaceful. This being my favorite raaga enriches the experience multifolds.

आपण लिहिलेले कुठलेही भाव ह्यात येत नाहीत. कारण हे गाणे म्हणजे मारवा आक्रमक आहे. ह्याची लय जास्त आहे आणि बंदिश ही तशीच आहे. म्हणजे मारव्याल्या न साजेशी. Shdja वर अधिक आराम केला पाहिजे होता. अणि rishbhavar सुद्धा. म्हणजे तांत्रिकदृष्ट्या बरोबर पण मजा येत नाही. थोडक्यात बाईकडे सर्व आहे फक्त चारित्र्य सोडून. ज्यांना महेश काळेचे गाणे आवडते त्यांनी जरूर शेवटपर्यंत ऐकावे असे गायले आहे. मारव्यात इंटरेस्ट असेल तर आमीर खान साहेब किव्वा सलामत अली खान साहेब ह्यांचे ऐका. मारवा ऐकताना शांत बसावे असे वाटले पाहिजे, आपणही gave असे वाटत असेल तर काहीतरी गडबड आहे
Marwa of Dr. Vasant is one of its kind. His singing style is such that he keeps some patterns hidden till he exposes them at 3/4th of the performance (just before fast drut). This style, is surprisingly so aligned with the overall feel of marwa that it does a full justice with it. A difficult raag, sung with such dexterity.

Some maestros have said (e.g., Pandit Ramshrya Jha) that in Marwa the Komal Re -- Shuddh Dha (vaadi-samvaadi) connection makes it evoke the Bhayaanaka rasa and Roudra rasa, which are somewhat uncommon! Thanks for this definitive recording!
Suraj Wan, Thanks for uploading this. I was brought up to believe (and did believe) there is no Marwa but Amir Khan Saheb's. Now I know better. Anyone here know who provided vocal accompaniment in this recording? That guy was no slouch either. In his place I wouldn't have dared play the tanpura, much less open my mouth and sing.
