This story was made into a play in Nottingham and Jacob spoke after, his victims mum was even in the audience. Such a heart wrenching story and a fantastic play by James Graham.
People need to realize that a punch or a push can easily kill someone. Unless you’re defending yourself is it really worth the risk of killing someone or permanently disabling them?
Maybe I'm missing something because I've never had any desire or inclination to get into a physical fight , but I'm always baffled at this sense of disbelief that people express when they're in a situation like this.....as if they're truly confused that purposely trying to physically hurt someone does, indeed, result in someone being physically hurt. Like, what were they expecting to happen? It's really not difficult - if you don't want to cause somebody physical harm then just....don't do things that will cause physical harm. Groundbreaking, I know.
@@Anonymous20-j9x Correct. I don't interact with people who have to resort to violence to solve disagreements. @OhCrumbs96 I agree with what your saying but the other comment is right, most punches aren't fatal, he could've punched 100 different people and odds are they'd all survive, that being said however it is a known thing that can happen and you should never punch someone and be surprised at a bad outcome
Agree. All I heard in this interview was me me me. Saying he never thought about the victim or parents is insane, this mentality doesn't just change. And clearly it hasn't because everything he said was all about him and his life smh
@@AM-dk5ym he was talking about how he HAD never thought about the victim UNTIL engaging with RJ. So he was demonstrating his change, not showing he hasn't changed. Also, many of the qns were about him and he answered them, hence why it was sometimes "me me me". But he also spoke about the victim and their family.
Not necessarily. And he wasn't charged with murder, he was charged with manslaughter, which is what a person is charged with for unintentionally killing someone. And killing is in fact justified and overlooked in circumstances of self-defense. However, there are very strict conditions for the same which is why it's not easy to prove in court.
This guy is not a murderer. I'm not saying this to console him. He's just not. He was a violent kid who got really unlucky that his victim died. Sad for both of them. So yeah he was wrong to punch him but he's just factually not a murderer.
having watched a more recent interview yesterday i wouldn't even say he was violent! He was just a kid backing up his mates but failing to ask what happened first
@doctorninetytwo3300 On Ladbible? I watched it too. He says his mate was arguing with the victim and then he punched the victim. So definitely was a violent person at the time
He went on holiday with his mam. I don’t think he was gone for a month, I think it was that the houses were being raided while he was away and then when he came back they asked him to come into the station.
Dont mean to add a comic spin..... but kimbo never killed any of his street fight opponents (thank god.... and touch wood).... i think he got very unlucky..... but yes its indispensable to learn from this story and to ALWAYS AVOID an altercation. I think some bouncers do a stellar job and they get hate for they're aggression but they have to..... so they can save lives.
Who is winning here, if he stays in jail. The family have forgiven him, he’s reformed, the taxpayer doesn’t have to look after him. And yet you still insist he rot in a cell. Why.
He seems sorry but he explained he had no idea who it was what it was about or if they even did something wrong then killed him and he only did 14 months he should have done longer this whole I am so sorry what can I do to make it right to the parole board then doing these PSA interviews is BS most people dont need to be told how to behave like people that dont deserve long prison sentences just leave him in there the guy is dead his people lost him thats permanent he shouldnt be able to move on

Yes
What if its a fight you both mutually agree to
Forgiveness❤
Someone in my local town only served 6 months for manslaughter.

He’s a murderer indeed. And a lucky one at that. He should be in jail.

He got into a lot of fights and punched a lot of people before this happened. So it was probably the 100th punch, not the first.
How do you know ?

It’s like drunk driving. Usually not the first time.
Literally didn’t say it was the first punch, he took ownership of the fact that he was in a rut and with bad people
14 months….. what a “joke”
So he went on holiday for a month after? If you ask me he knew it was serious and did a runner to see how it played out

Lol so much misinformation perpetuated in the comments. He was barely an adult, had a family holiday already booked with his mum.

He should be spending YEARS in jail. This is unfair to the victim‘s family & coddling grown up men like babies is what our society love to do.
