@Epic Flight Academy, is the Ground Run the equating to the TORA and the takeoff distance equating to TODA? Does that mean we ought to take BOTH and add the ground roll and the take off distance for the calculations?

For our purposes in the C172S when talking about takeoff and landing distances, we calculate those using the POH Chapter 5 on performance. With those numbers in hand, we refer to and compare that to the Takeoff Run Available (TORA) which is the length of the runway declared available and suitable for ground run of an airplane take-off.
