For Bullet for My Valentine’s fifth studio album, Venom, Tuck dug into his past and unearthed numerous memories of being beaten up and humiliated and used them as inspiration for the songs. The anthemic “You Want a Battle? (Here’s a War)” is about how, after his group became popular, Tuck took aim at those who made him feel hopeless and helpless. Even teachers at school told me to stop chasing this stupid dream and do something else with my life. They said I’d never be able to play guitar in a band and tour the world.Tuck sifted through his troubled past for Venom not to vent, but to match the musical aggression of the songs on the album. Didn't he prove all them wrong.

I used to love when BFMV's videos told a story, like in tears don't fall, all these things, wakin the demon and the last fight, but this one is the best they've done. The lyrics at first sounded like an angry teenager about to burst into tears, this video changed my mind, it's deeper and darker than that.

Kerry Wichterich Don't want to turn this into a personal soapbox, but I had a friend who would act like the male character in his bouts of anger (hence, why we ain't friends anymore). Rage/Anger is powerful emotion, and some people don't know how to express it appropriately. Obviously the band chose to express their anger about this subject in a positive manner by writing material on it, but others just choose to take it out on innocent people/objects. Doesn't matter the object's value or the relationship with the person, they just want release of their emotional tension. So I understand at first glance why destroying that nice guitar may seem like a "wtf" move, but in the eye's of that male antagonist, he could not give two shits about it. He wanted control of himself and express dominance over her, and that was his way of doing it.

This video is so relatable! It just reminds me of what happened in Russia not long ago. Three girls stabbed their father to death. They had to defend themselves because he abused them in the most horrific ways. They are under trial now. So sad that sometimes murder is the only way to stop abuse.
