A blueprint for a spin off is to take side characters, concepts or the world from the mainline and do something else with it. Not just bash things together and expect it it to be worse than the original. It should be judged on its own merit individually. It’s a meh show and is only really enjoyable or worth a watch if you’re interested in the main line boys tv show, which shouldn’t be the end all. See better call Saul for example, a quality stand-alone spin off show
