Another rare switch game is skylanders imaginators. It was discontinued very quick, and fans bought it like crazy. Because it was the first time to play a real skylanders game on the go (there were some 3DS games. But those were totally different games (still very good though). You also just needed to scan a character once, and you could always play as them. No portals required. I think it goes around for about 300 bucks
I actually have one of the SNES competition carts: Star Fox Super Weekend. I found it at a Gamestop sometime when I was in high school (sometime between 2003 and 2007). It cost me only $8 since they marked it as regular Star Fox instead.
Fun fact, the original Shantae game has been made more available as of late. Not only can you buy it on the 3DS Eshop, but you can also buy it on the Nintendo Switch, although that's a patched copy to enhance it.
Interestingly in Europe the German Version seems to never have gotten a reprint, but others have. So you could get all versions besides the German one quite easily from Amazon for some time. But now all stock is sold out and listings of any European version are also very rare and copies on Ebay sell for around 100€. I luckily bought my German Version on Launch Day.
So about the Powerfest 94 cartridge I happen to know the guy who owns one of the two cartridges and apparently he was offered over $100k during a convention but he turned it down another thing to note is that the two cartridges use different multipliers with one being 10x and the other being 100x
I used to have Pokémon Box. You could buy it at the Pokémon Center store now known as Nintendo New York. In a moment of desperation I sold it for $40 on eBay. I regret that. All the time.
great video today !! but one thing a youtube named nick robinson (i’m pretty sure) found a ds “game” that was used as a training tape in japan in select mc donalds places so i think that may be the rarest game since it was only available in japan in select mc donalds and even then most cartridges went missing after the idea was trashed he has a very interesting video about it
I've only ever seen gold Zelda cartridges, as I live in Australia. Every single pal version is gold. I've never seen a grey copy of Zelda oot in person.
I sold my Earthbound for $500 with big box and guide a few years ago. Feels sad about selling it but I desperately needed the cash and it helped me get where I am financially today.
@@dnegel9546 in Australia... No. It's probably more desirable in the US. At a guess, I'd bet it says pal on it too. If it was a gold NTSC cart, I'd call that rare.
Just thought I, being the local Wii U nerd, should point out that Devil’s Third is selling for about $400, Game and Wario is selling for $120, and Turbo super stunt squad is selling for $120. Those are all North American non-sealed prices.
I have recently seen a loose copy of Shantae go for $800 at a local game store after years of never seeing one but wanting one since reading about it in Nintendo Power Magazine.
Still weird to me that Earthbound is as rare as it is. I've still got my cart. I think I was one of the niche group of people who asked for it as a kid when it was new. It's a shame I didn't keep the box and I lost the guide though.
No wonder Shantae on GB got a re-release on current consoles from Limited Run games. Pocky and Rocky! Loved that game on SNES! Used to play that on Blockbuster! Bayonetta Climax Edition was also released by Game UK and they made 14k copies. I know, because I bought one during the 5 days it had before it sold out. Nice vid! Gonna check out your other content!
The rarest Wii U games aren’t Hyrule Warriors nor Hello Kitty, the rarest and most expensive is Darksiders 2 Wepik Fan cover and the most expensive stand alone title at the moment is Devil Third
I own a copy of Clay Fighter's Sculptors Cut, and had no idea that it skyrocketed that high in price over the years. I got it for like $60 in 2014 when I started hardcore collecting for the N64, jesus that's wild wtf
People should note that these are generally for boxed copies, and some are actually inflated costs as we get further into summer when a lot of collectors have already spent their tax money lol. I have maybe a quarter of the games on this list, so far. Some I had passed up previously because they didn't interest me. I watch game prices. It's what I do. :)
A lot of these higher prices are for boxed/sealed copies, by the way. Loose carts can still be expensive but they cut the price considerably in most cases. I’d love to sell my copy of Shantae for $4000, but that isn’t happening any time soon.
I ended up getting Hyrule Warriors and the scarf separately, but I still use the scarf. It's actually pretty short (ok, yeah, Link's in-game one is _ridiculously long_ because anime reasons, but still), but a quality scarf, very warm. I wish I could've gotten ahold of the Triforce clock, though. I think that's what the European special edition was sold with.
My thoughts during this video: - Who would pay that much money for a game? - Why would a developer destroy their game just for not selling well enough? - Who would buy a game, only to let it collect dust without ever having played it? - ... people are weird.

Since I find it funny and the fact it is at least the third rarest Wii U game (ignoring special editions and bundles) I consider Turbo Super Stunt Squad the rarest Wii U game
I still have an original NES with the Duck Hunt Gun, and game still in the original box. I also have The Legend of Zelda with maps also still in the original box.

No wonder I can't find clay fighter I never knew it was exclusive for rent. I don't think I played the special edition though, however I played the game like once or twice and sucked at it lol
As someone who has owned three copies of Earthbound, one in box with giant guide book, scratch and sniff cards, and game which I for $240.... one with just game and guide book for $120... and one that was just the game itself for $85.... I'm calling bullshit on that $4,000 estimate. No copy of Earthbound is worth THAT much.
