The Fairphone 4 is awesome! It is robust and feels premium. Cheap and easy to repair. It's also nice that there is a long time Android security and feature support. They encourage people to try other operating systems, that's nice if Android is not your thing. The new Fairphone 5 also looks nice!
Whoa, still get Google App access like Gmail? That was my only hang up. I love the device and privacy is great but I grew into Google's ecosystem more than I'd like to admit
Does your Visual Voicemail work? My Fairphone 4’s doesn’t. Does Google Pay work on your phone? Mine doesn’t. Does your phone connect to your car’s bluetooth audio? Mine doesn't
Thanks for the video , im in need of a new phone as my current one is in bits and will cost more to repair than it did new sadly , im hoping to get a fairphone woth e/os , should i get a fairphone 4 or 5 ? The 5 is a lot of money (nearly half of my monthly wage)
Well I hate to swell up on your battery bubble, but either way a battery is still a battery and mined for, whether immovable or movable, mining still went into the production of it also. I still say batteries are the most outdated and oldest technologies on our phones that need to be updated drastically.
I wasn’t to get this phone. Does it have a kill switch ? Like to shut off the camera and mic, and a airplane mode switch that physically shuts off the WiFi, Bluetooth and mobile capabilities

I installed eOS on my old Galaxy S8. It runs very well, only whatsapp was behaving strangely. I couldnt receive or send messages in groups for example. Is that common with eOS. How is that on the fairphone? Thanks
@@dasgeek Looking forward to your review. /e/OS works well and is fast. Besides whatsapp, push notifications didnt work for all apps but some did. So it is a mixed bag strangely enough. I am sure I didn't block in the app settings. Push notifications still go over google servers as far as I understand, so this might be the issue as /e/OS uses open source replacement for these services... Maybe there are different type push notifications?
Just tried to install Google Chrome on the Fairphone - nope! Wonder if this design can get any basic thing right? Update: just learned that the new Xreal glasses aren't compatible with this OS either.

No plans for the 5 to come to the US as of now - right now you can only use it with T-Mobile and its MVNOs (including Mint)

I'm not a WhatsApp user but I will test some other messaging/social apps out and report if there are any issues.
