    At first I thought why are they not showing the blade spinning? Then I realized it was spinning, just slowly! This is amazing design, I declare Marshall Saw!

    I've had one for two years and use it regularly in my land clearing business. Works great. Not dangerous at all and gives me a lot of control on where the tree falls. It lets me pick up the tree after I cut it and stack it or move it around. If you hit a rock with the blade it either breaks the rock or moves it out of the way. Since the blade doesn't rotate it doesn't throw material around as you cut. I cut up to 30" trees with my 12" saw and they are flush with the ground so you can mow over it. Never have to sharpen the blade.

      I don't much like the idea of having the stumps in the ground. If you're going to cut the tree down, may as well get rid of the stump too.

      Sometimes someone wants to grind the stumps, but the majority of the time people want to disturb their land as little as possible, so it will grow back more quickly. The stump will rot and go back into the soil. Since the MTS cuts off the tree flush with the ground you can mow over it easily. If you were clearing the land for underground utilities you could grind the stump or clear with a dozer.

      Thank you so much for your wonderful review! Yes, those blades will last thousands of hours! These are laser cut and made from armored plate. VERY durable. Our customers have found that they can get thousands of hours out of a single blade! Even multiple teeth can be broken off and will not effect the cutting quality. As an added bonus, there are no carbide tips to replace.

    I like it! The slow moving action and being able to cut below soil grade a few inches is fantastic...PLUS one more use for a skid loader is always good!

    These things run about $12,000. We're trying one out it's the 16 inch cut. I've cut 30" trees with just 3 cuts. I've stalled it out in a cut on locust. I suppose the tree being frozen probably cuts harder than normal. The cylinders are 7" bore and our skid steer runs about 3400 psi at the aux ports so that equates to about 66 tons of force to cut a tree. It takes some getting used to but once you get on to it, its awesome. :)

    Genius! Wish I had a setup like this for my 5 acres of Paradise! Can't justify $20K - $30K for a Bobcat and that Marshall saw. I guess I'll just have to keep on using the old Stihl 08 chainsaw.

    It can be so handy for ranchers and farmers who want to clear trees and cut them down to the ground. I only wish it would work on a tractor.

    • @hillequipmentmfg

      Sadly it currently does not work on a tractor, but it is universal for any skid-steer! Find out more by visiting our website: www.marshalltreesaw.com/

    Suppose the teeth could still get damaged by stone but got to be better odds than a chain saw.

  • @Chickentownship1

    I have one. I really can not imagine cutting 400 trees an hour, but it is 400% faster than a chsinsaw, it also is safer. after I fell the tree, i drop it down to 1 inch from the ground and run it down the tree to debranch, it is vrry effective. The $14,5k was a little hard to bite however, but it is indestructible....

    • @hillequipmentmfg
      @hillequipmentmfg  7 років тому

      Thank you for the kind words. Yes, we agree that 400 trees per hour would depend on size of tree, operator and conditions. But we believe it is safe to say, it can cut hundreds of trees per hour.

      Safer for the operator, not for anything else around as you have NO CONTROL over the direction of the falling tree. With a chainsaw and as long as the tree isn't leaning the opposite direction (side to side isn't that big of a deal) and any logger can drop the tree within a couple degrees of the direction aimed.

    I'll bet the fuel consumption is much lower when compared to a rotary saw or flail mower. Fuel figures into the bottom line big time on land clearing jobs.
