Absolutely great videography that really shows off the rugged utilitarianism of these diminutive Japanese trucks. This video is the gateway drug to kei trucks. The Acty with 2" lift looks absolutely awesome.
Thank you! The 2” lift is just about perfect for the tire combo and type of driving I do with it. These little trucks always make me smile and have been as useful as they are fun, definitely one of the best vehicles that I have owned so far 👌
Found you and your brother's channels after we bought our Kei truck. We've got a '92 with manual transmission and off road mud tires, since it'll be used mainly as a ranch truck. It had less than 20k miles on it. More versatile than a buggy by a long shot, and a ton of fun in the woods.
It’s pretty cool how versatile and fun these little trucks can be. We have been having a blast with them! With only 20k on yours it should be around for a long time! 👍
it was build on the thunking of bigger than a small atv sized flatbed but still sub liter engine , hell they even used it as a firefighter kei truck in japan and also a mini landscape bonsai too bad acty is gone so only S and D brand around now
@@sargera1 such versatile little trucks, it’s definitely sad that Honda ended production of the Acty. I did hear that they plan on continuing to build parts for the HA4 Acty’s so that’s good news 👌
Love the video. I've been eyeing those mini trucks for quite awhile. Very impressed with how versatile and how those little trucks work. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching! If you decide to buy one try to test out all of the different models if you can. They all have unique features and every brand has a different feel while driving. I made a video about shopping for our Honda and show some of the other trucks that we had a chance to to drive. Lots of mini truck videos on the way, cheers!
I have really enjoyed our Acty and plan on owning it for a long time. It has been very useful daily for doing chores and also fun for camping. Cheers! 👍
Looks like a great time you are having with this fun little car. Glad for you that you have such a good relationship with your brother! All the best from Austria. 😊
It’s always a great time hanging out with my brother and the Kei trucks have been so much fun that I wish I would have bought one years ago! Lots of mini truck videos on the way. We are plan on camping with them this weekend 👌
Really getting the urge to try to get a Kei truck imported from Japan - the family had a 4WD Subaru Sumo 1.2L high top van from new in 1988 and it was great apart from being a bit scary in high cross-winds when unloaded. We went on to have two Hijet 6-seaters (2WD) which were ideal for the narrow roads and tiny parking spaces we have in the UK. These 'Microvans', as they were known here, were really popular but faded away, I guess due to concerns about safety in front-end collisions. Old ones are making big money now, with good examples few and far between - import prices looking Ok though. Cheers.
My college roommate was from Lynden Washington… I always thought he was was the real life Spicoli when he showed up a week late and sunburned in his brown Nova and a dinged to hell 10 foot log on the rooftop… when we (I) graduated from school I drove up from the bay to see him and meet his family. It seemed like all of his brothers and cousin were just like you guys. Born on dirt roads but rip around a skate park, and are willing to try to ‘fix’ anything 🤘🤌🏁
Ha ha thanks Jason! Any day that involves Kei truck driving and skating is a great day for sure! After 2 knee rebuilds I’m really happy to still be able to drive a manual and pop some Ollie’s 😁👍
Funny how it makes some trails look wide and others enormous. It must make navigating those narrow trails a breeze. I'm going to do more research and consider buying one of these.
I have the same marmot coat as you. I was on a cycling trip in Montana last year and met a guy with an acty. His had a slide in winter camper that he made from that purple foam insulation panels. He made a box from those and glued them together using carbon fiber dowels and coated it with aluminum sheets. It had a door and Windows and an aliexpress diesel heater and maxx air vent. I think he said the entire thing was 300 lbs. The coolest part was it just slid in and out in a couple minutes. He said even in -30f he never gets cold
That Marmot coat has kept me warm snow camping for 2 years now, great jacket! My brother and I are working on some small campers for the trucks at the moment. The goal is light, well insulated and warm so we bought some 2kw diesel heaters for them. I have a 5kw diesel heater in our Dodge camper build and it is awesome!
Thanks for watching! Kei trucks are so useful (&fun) that I wish they had been sold in more markets around the world. In the U.S. we can import them if they are at least 25 years old. I’m not sure about the import laws in England but it seems like someone would be importing them there too. Definitely a great machine 👍
Surprised by that statement, my local Honda motorcycle dealer was using two of them in 1979 to around 1983 for delivery of motorcycles. There was also the Bedford Rascal truck and van that was just a Kei truck built under license in the UK with a 1 liter engine. That was back in the 80's and 90's
Thanks man! The GV’s are awesome, I wish we had more compact 4x4’s like them to choose from here. All SUV’s have gotten so big lately, light and compact is my favorite way to travel. 👍
I have been looking at getting a mini truck then I come across your you tube and show my wife and she said those are the trucks down the road. My younger brother has a Honda truck and a subraru truck. When I get one it would be great to get with you for setting it up ideas
Nice! Yep, we are just down the road from you guys. Try to get one with a locking rear diff if you can. I think they have a Diahatsu (Toyota) Hijet Climber at Motorcycle Warehouse in Portland right now for a good price. Good luck on your mini truck search and let me know if you have any questions. 👍
Thanks for watching and thanks for the great comment! The Acty is possibly the most fun (and useful) vehicle that I have ever owned. More videos coming soon 👍
@@OlympicOverland sweeeeeet! I can't wait to see them! Okay... I might be convinced to get one. I am a little worried that I'll have trouble finding a company to insure them for road use in Florida. Did you have any issues with that?
@@therealrealshocker I am in Washington state and my insurance company was easy to deal with, I had insurance on the Acty after a quick 10 minute phone call. My brother has a different insurance company but was able to insure his Suzuki Carry fairly easy as well. I would check out some of the Facebook Kei truck groups, lots of info on insuring and registering in different states but I know a lot of guys in Florida have them and I’m sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction for a decent insurance company in your area. Good luck!
@@OlympicOverland the "nice to be in" raises the question, how tall are you? Fitting inside one of these may be an issue for some of us. I asked this question elsewhere but this one here I believe "tags you" so I figure I'll ask again here. Ignore the other question if you reply to this one, and I'll delete the other at another time. You make great videos, most of what we want to see, little or none of the stuff we don't want to see. And what an awesome shot of the ACTY on the beach, you really have a good idea for aesthetic, with the 2 inch lift and knobby tires that truck look freakin' awesome!! Thanks for a great vid!
@@MisterRichHarris Thanks again Rich, stoked to see your comments! I had just replied to your other comment about cab size but will just recap, I’m 5’8” & the Acty fits me really well. My brothers Suzuki Carry cab is a similar size but dash layout is very different. Both trucks have similar headroom which is very good but I have seen tall top versions available. Try a few trucks out if you can before you decide on one, it was helpful to get an idea of overall comfort because they all have interesting differences. If you are really tall consider a Daihatsu HiJet Jumbo, they have a bit more cab room to slide the seat back and your legs won’t feel as cramped. Some of the newer Subaru Sambar’s have slightly bigger cabs too. I really enjoy driving the Acty and wouldn’t hesitate to spend all day running around in it, 55/60 mph on the highway is fine and it’s just as nimble in town as it is in the woods! 👌
The reason why the Acty Attack is said to be the strongest is that it has an optimum weight distribution, a large ground clearance and super low gear. The lowest 38 horsepower engine among its rivals specializes in stickiness at low speeds and does not slip the tires. Even a big car with power is not comparable to Acty Attack. And unfortunately, the Acty that surpasses this second generation Acty Attack is no longer born.
These trucks proliferate Philippine roads being used for water delivery, construction, and even as passenger vehicle, they prove to be very durable and useful!
Awesome Channel! Thanks for sharing specifics on mods. Your content definitely helps build the mini community. Looking forward to your next adventure!!
Great piece of property, and a fun/versatile truck. 🤔A couple barrels of salt in the bed for weight, and a snow plow. Reminded of the Steyr Puch Haflinger
Thanks! I did see another Acty Attack for sale recently with a plow setup, it would be pretty handy. The Haflinger’s are awesome! My brother Mike built a mini Halflinger/Pinzgauer replica awhile ago, 6x6 with locking front diff. 👌
It's great that he forgot his headlamp.. that "video light" is doing an awesome job of illuminating that bunker for the video! & idk where those bunkers are.. if they're on something like national park land, or private land, but if they're on buyable land I would buy at least one and turn it into a house. literally never need to worry bout a tornado or huricane and probably pretty darn easy to heat/cool with them being in earth and thick concrete
Ha ha the bunkers would make an awesome house! There is one just west of my place that I have been searching for but last heard someone had purchased it and possibly turned it into a home. It’s kind of a mystery bunker that I had only heard rumors of. They are all over along the coastline out here and I’m always on the search for new ones. Maybe I will make a full video of exploring all of them this spring. 👍
Awesome videos and content! Beautiful countryside in the Pacific NW! Keep the adventures going! Are those 13x5 Honda Civic Steelies - 4x100 - no spacers or mods needed on the Honda Acty - other than a slight lift to prevent rubbing? Big fan of the off-road tires inside the wheel wells! Stoked you guy's found what looks to be the perfect tire!
Thanks! Yes, that is the stock Civic steely size and they fit great without spacers & no rubbing with the Forceum tires. I installed a 2” lift but have heard of people claiming they have run the 13” Forceum tires without a lift and no rubbing but I think it would be pretty tight and would have to rub in some situations off-road. Cheers! 👍
These Kei vehicles are so rad! I am always looking at different cars and trucks, definitely checking out those mini Pajero’s. My girlfriend Stacy is constantly checking different ones out too 😂
Wish they allowed easier importation and use stateside! We just got a '22 hijet and a '23 jimny to use on our ranches in tx and our ranch in az, but are registered to our larger ranch in mxo, only way we could get the newer vehicles! Same with my wifes hilux and s70 landcruiser, which are a 20 and 22 year models. My son has an acty like yours, a newer '19 hijet truck with a dump bed, and hes waiting on a 22 sambar I think its called to arrive?
You guys have some awesome vehicles! I’ve been eyeing up the new Jimny’s and a Hilux would be sweet. I agree about the importation, definitely wish it was easier and we had better access to the newer trucks. I would probably be pretty broke if we had access to everything sold in Japan! 😂
Hi Dave, the grey Suzuki Carry is my brothers truck. The truck came with a poorly routed exhaust from the previous owner so my brother made a new exhaust setup for it. The side exit keeps everything up high for clearance and the silencer/canister is from my old Yamaha WR250 dirt bike.
Thanks man! I’ve lived here for a long time and we are still finding now spots to explore. The next mini truck video should be uploaded next week & has a bunch of trails and backroads in it 👌
Nice video, I love the landscapes and everything, seems really 0retty were you live and I felt jealous of the type of life do you live Semmes awesome 👌
It’s a good place and we are fortunate to have the mountains and beach so close. The rainy season is long and it sometimes only feels like we have about 1 month of really nice sunny weather each year but as long as you have rain gear and are willing to get muddy the rest of the year isn’t too bad! Thanks for watching, I should have a few more camping videos up soon 👍
The vans are awesome! Yes, you can get standard plates for it in Washington and it can be driven on the freeway, I will be doing my 60 mile commute for work in the Acty today and most of it is highway driving 55/60 mph. 👍
My Acty Attack has the locking rear differential but the standard SDX model does not. I use the diff lock often but with good driving techniques an open diff 4x4 can make it through some pretty difficult situations off-road. My brothers Suzuki Carry originally had a rear locker but it was replaced with an open diff before he bought it. He recently found a used rear locking diff and installed it so both trucks now have lockers. 👌
Hi Rich, I am 5’ 8” and the Acty fits me really well. I have driven it on my 60 mile round trip work commute a few times and it’s been perfectly fine. I use it a lot in the woods but it is my main runabout for weekend trips to town which is a 10 mile highway stretch from my place. 55/60 mph is great and the truck will go faster but I typically keep it in that range on the highway. I have spent all day exploring dirt roads and running around out here on the coast in the Acty and it’s far nicer to be in than I expected, I actually really prefer driving it. Friends of mine in the 6’ tall range have all fit in the cab with decent headroom but I could see going for a Daihatsu Hijet Jumbo for some extra leg room if the Acty cab feels cramped to you. Cheers and thanks for watching!
Back in the old GDR there was a car brand called Multicar, that offered SO much for a minitruck it was impressive. Nowadays they would mostly use bigger cars
Mine has been really reliable, always runs like a top and I’ve used it a lot on/off-road but it all just depends on how the truck was maintained before you got it. Keep in mind that most of these trucks are from the late 80’s and early 90’s, many have been used as work vehicles and you will rarely get any kind of maintenance records. Parts will always be a bit more expensive for imported vs domestic market vehicles. They are awesome trucks and really are built well but if it will be your only vehicle then make sure it fits your needs vs a 4x4 Toyota pickup or another compact truck. To me the size, traction, payload and maneuverability suit what I do. Cheers man and good luck on your search!
I also live in Washington, thinking of making a camper, maybe I'll hit you guys up for some tips when i do, i know you said if you made another mini camper you would do things a little different
They are both great trucks and do equally well off-road. I would probably recommend trying all of the different models, there is something unique about each manufacturer and they all have a different cab feel. If you are going to be doing a lot of off-roading consider finding a truck with a rear differential lock. If you are using it around a farm or for work you might want a dump bed, they come in lots of different configurations (3 way dump and even scissor lift). If you are mainly using it around town and for road driving a standard 5 speed model may be all that you need. You will know when you sit in the right truck, for me the Acty just felt right and I like how balanced the mid engine feels. 👍
do you ever wish you got a tip truck for collecting all that firewood? Im getting close to pullin the triggere on a sambar, even though I rarely go out bush. theyre just so damn cool.
Where did you get those trucks? If bought those from the Philippines it would be a Left-hand drive Kei-truck or minivan. Since we drive on the right side of the road here too.
Hello! The wheels are 13” Honda Civic steelies from the early 1990’s and tires are the Forceum MT08 165/80/r13. This setup works great and doesn’t require wheel spacers. My truck does have a 2” lift. I found the tires on eBay and at the moment they are under $400 USD per set. Not sure if this eBay link will work but here it is 👍 www.ebay.com/itm/304268621383?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=R6XBhYCVQgG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=Tcq6iqqPSpi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Sure looks like you can have some fun with those little things, it'd definitely be more expensive but I think Americans might enjoy our Patrol & Land Cruiser utes here in Australia. I suppose its really a different kind of offroading that you're doing, you have some serious limitations but you can probably find a heap of freedom inside those limits.
Hi, parts availability is pretty good and I haven’t had any issues. There are a few places in the US that specialize in used parts and importers that stock common items. eBay is great too. I ordered a timing belt kit from Japan and had it in about 1 week.
Thanks for watching! My Honda Acty is a 1991. I’m really happy with the rear diff lock and ultra low gears on the Attack model. I drove an SDX and the 5 speed felt great but for my application I really wanted the differential lock. 👍
@@OlympicOverland cheers for the reply and info. I've found a 1996 model truck but going to wait a little and see how the economy plays out. A little chaotic times at the moment. Hopefully I'll join the kei team one day soon.
I bought a Wiruswin stainless exhaust from Japan and it’s been pretty good. The fit and welds are nice and it’s not very loud with the supplied defuser. One thing that was a hassle on mine (maybe not all of them?) is that the mounting flange was too thick and I had to remove the factory mounting studs on the original exhaust flange and replace them with longer stainless bolts.
Hi! Only the Honda Acty Attack model has the rear diff lock. The Attack has a lower ratio 4 speed transmission with 2 extra gears, an ultra low range first and reverse gear. Some of the Suzuki’s had diff locks too, my brothers Carry had one originally but it was removed so he had to find another diff lock rear axle from a Kei truck parts supplier and swap it back into his truck. If you go that route and look for a rear axle with diff lock for your Suzuki just make sure the gear ratio is the same as your front differential. Cheers! 👌
This is basically a more useful Kawasaki Mule since it’s enclosed and road legal. If these were normally available in the US, they would have probably sold loads of them.
Great video showing how capable these little trucks are. I'm thinking on getting one here in Ontario, Canada. May I ask which lift kit you installed and what tires you had on while you were driving through that deep snow? Tanks again for the video. Safe travels . Bill
Thanks for watching Bill. The tires are 13” Forceum MT08’s and the lift kit is a 2” eBay kit from a seller that makes them in the U.S., quality is nice and it comes with all of the hardware. The kit also has camber correction slots. The eBay vendors name is Vanessasmiles. I wouldn’t go more than 2” for the lift because CV angles get pretty steep.
What lift did you end up going with? some of the kits out there appear to be on the cheap side but you have certainly tested yours in pretty tough conditions.
Hi Mike, my lift is a 2” kit from eBay. The fellow makes them in the U.S. and they have quality hardware, a camber slot for correction and are powder coated. The vendor is called Vanessasmiles. I wouldn’t go more than 2” because the CV angles will get pretty steep. I will try to post an eBay link but I don’t know if it will actually work on here but you can look up Honda Acty lift kit on eBay and find the vendor I mentioned, they are currently around $250 for the kit. 👍 www.ebay.com/itm/266035211062?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aWk2zssoQBC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=Tcq6iqqPSpi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Hi, I have the specs in the video but the tires are 13” Forceum MT’s and the rims are 13” early 90’s Honda Civic steelies. With this combo the offset is correct and you won’t need a wheel spacer but I would suggest a 1.5” or 2” lift. If you are doing less off-road driving there are actually some decent 12” tires that will fit the stock rims but going up to a 13” rim will give you a better tire selection. This setup will work for a Honda Acty but lug patterns on the other makes will be different. The Suzuki Carry lug pattern matches a Geo Metro or Suzuki Swift. 👍
I forgot to mention that ebay seems to be a good place to find the Forceum MT’s. If you stick with a 12” wheel I would recommend the Yokohama Super Digger or Toyo Open Country tires, I’ve seen both of these on eBay as well.
Great video...thinking of buying one of the mini-trucks, new or used haven't decided, the new one I was looking at with the dump bed which is something I'd really need for what my plans are with one does have a PTO which runs the hydraulic pump for the dump bed. 4WD with high/low range, and differential lock are a must, with or without AC doesn't really matter that much to me. Looking at the prices of UTV's and adding a cab, one of these mini trucks make far more sense, their hauling/towing capabilities are much better than a UTV, and cost is cheaper...a loaded UTV with a cab, heat/ac is almost $30k, a brand new mini truck with AC, 4WD high/low, and locking diff with dump bed with PTO pump is $24k.
I agree, UTV prices have gotten pretty crazy and in comparison the Kei trucks definitely make a lot of sense. My Acty is over 30 years old now and everything still works great on it. New or used I’m sure you will find a good one and definitely keep an eye out for one with a diff lock, we use ours all the time. Cheers man & good luck on your mini truck search!
@@OlympicOverland I'm sure with your mini-truck being older you've had to get parts for it...how hard is it to get parts and find parts for these here in the US?
@@wildbill23c parts have been pretty easy to get with most importers stocking common replacement parts and a few places in the US that specialize in used parts as well. Ebay actually has a lot of Kei truck parts and a few of the Facebook Kei truck groups have cross reference guides for common things like some filters, plugs etc from auto parts stores. I ordered a timing belt kit from Japan and had it in 1 week so even that wasn’t bad.
@@OlympicOverland Awesome, thanks. Kind of wondered if parts were going to be pretty easy to get, and was figuring they would be given the growing number of these mini-trucks in the US now.
The Sambar’s are great! After driving them all I would honestly have to say that each truck manufacturer has an entirely different feel to the cabs and the way they drive. They are all really good but it’s just figuring out what truck fits your needs best but a supercharged Sambar with a rear diff lock would be a sweet one!
It just depends on how you will be using it. They get great traction in 4wd and will take you most places that you want to go without the locking rear diff but on off camber situations and extremely uneven ground the rear locker is really nice to have. Either way, locking rear differential or not they are really fun trucks and I would still consider a clean non locking model. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions 👍
@@seanzwiefka7056 I think it usually adds about $1000-$1500 extra for shipping and port costs from Japan. There is a small fee to have someone move it at the port for you or a form that you pay yearly for that allows you to retrieve it yourself. Depending on who you go through in Japan, paper work will arrive first and trucks take 1-3 months for shipping. It’s helpful if you live near a main port. Good luck, the trucks are really useful and definitely worth the wait!
Thanks man, the lift and tires definitely helped off road. It would bottom out pretty easy when it was stock in ruts and over rocks so a good upgrade for sure 👌
I like it, really useful and fun. For me the locking rear differential and low gearing are important features because of how I typically use the truck. It’s done everything I’ve needed it to do from running errands and hauling firewood to camping and exploring trails off-road. 👍
@@burkeagri718 fuel mileage is actually really good on the Acty. I haven’t seen any Kei trucks available in diesel but the gas motors are pretty efficient.
w8.. acty has push button engagement of the transfer case? I was going to ask if you'd thought about backyard engineering a way to operate the manual button or whatever that usually is on kei trucks.. down on the side of the trans and have to climb under the truck to get it on or off lol
You can leave the Honda in 4wd and they are designed to be run like that for all conditions but can be deselected if you want. The push button actuates a rear differential lock on the Attack model.
Hi, the body is far from perfect and I don’t mind dents and dings. I just wanted solid running gear and little to no rust. I needed a differential lock and low gearing so the Attack fits my needs. I made a video that shows buying the truck and you can see the body better throughout that video, again some dents don’t bother me because it’s going to get more ha ha! I paid about $5000 for the truck. If you are shopping for one and happen to be near Portland Oregon give Motorcycle Warehouse a visit. They usually have a good selection and prices are very reasonable.
Shoukd consider welding the rear diff on the suzuki, my father did it on his LITE ACE & its great. I’ll definitely be looking for one lol they are nice
He was considering welding the diff but was recently able to track down a rear differential with the locker and actuator. We swapped everything over and it works great!
I couldn't stop myself swapping in Toyota Mini-truck axles and either a VW TDI or a Kubota Diesel and some 33's. Thatd be too much fun up here in the PNW and on our property in N.Idaho.
I am 5’ 8” and the truck fits me great. At 6’ 2” you will still be fine with headroom but legs will probably be cramped. The seat can slide slightly but there is no adjustment at the steering column. The Romahome looks awesome, I’ve only seen pictures because they are very rare where I live. The best thing would be to try it out and see how the cab feels to you. For most taller people I would usually recommend a Daihatsu Jumbo Cab because you can slide the seat back a bit more, or some of the Subaru Sambar’s have a bit longer footwell area and that helps for longer legs. Good luck!
Hi, a few distributors get them from time to time in the US but the easiest place is eBay. Look up Forceum MT 13” and they should pop up. They are a 165/80r13 so you will need to pick up some 13” wheels if you still have stock 12” rims. Steelies from a Civic work well.
The multicab’s are nice! So useful and great traction. We have also considered getting a Kei van eventually. I would like to find one with a locking rear differential. 👍
these trucks are literal cockroaches because of how much abuse it can take before it will give up. that same 660cc engine are used on long wheelbase suzuki multicabs here in Davao as smaller alternative for those passenger jeepneys.

They are great trucks and the van versions are cool too, we will probably get a van eventually 😁
I don't know how to explain it, but this video is so satisfying!
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comment man! More videos on the way 👌
My college roommate was from Lynden Washington… I always thought he was was the real life Spicoli when he showed up a week late and sunburned in his brown Nova and a dinged to hell 10 foot log on the rooftop… when we (I) graduated from school I drove up from the bay to see him and meet his family.
I just subscribed to Mike’s channel. Then I found this one. Subscribed!
Thanks for subscribing and welcome to the channel! 👌
Great video! You and Mike make Rad videos. I love what you both are doing on your channels.
Thanks Jerry! I should have another video up next week and really looking forward to getting the new mini campers up into the snow soon 👍
Always look forward to your videos. You guys are having fun with those mini trucks.
Thanks for watching! The mini have been so much fun, definitely wish I had bought one years ago 😂
Funny how it makes some trails look wide and others enormous. It must make navigating those narrow trails a breeze. I'm going to do more research and consider buying one of these.
They are incredible on tight trails and the visibility is awesome 👌
It’s Shamus warming his buns for me
His Ewok cheeks are toasty!
Impressive piece of kit' i live in England and ive never heard of this vehicle before.
Good stuff, I watch your brothers channel all the time. I rock an 08 Suzuki GV with a small lift and a rrt. It's gorgeous out there!
Thanks man! The GV’s are awesome, I wish we had more compact 4x4’s like them to choose from here. All SUV’s have gotten so big lately, light and compact is my favorite way to travel. 👍
This is a dope ass video. I just got one of these for my business and this just gave me a lot of ideas!
Thanks Francis!
This video is incredible, i need a Honda Acty now! Subscribed due to the amazing camera angles and the impressive editing! Thanks for sharing!
Good luck!
@@OlympicOverland thank you for the helpful information. I'll check out the FB groups. I'm looking forward to being a KEI truck owner soon! 🤠
It ’s a 660㏄ work truck, but
I consider it the best vehicle.
I agree, they are great trucks. It does everything that I need and is just really nice to be in. The best!
I agree! It’s sad that the Acty is no longer in production. They are excellent trucks 👍
These trucks proliferate Philippine roads being used for water delivery, construction, and even as passenger vehicle, they prove to be very durable and useful!
I would love to visit the Philippines some day! Such great trucks, mine has been in steady use since we brought it home 👍

nice property., its Japanese its honest dependable. you look after it it will look after you.
Absolutely! Thanks Jules 👍
Cheers! 👍

Oh snap, you're Mike festiva's brother? Really enjoyed watching your mini bike trip, looks like a ton of fun!
What exhuast is on the gray suzuki one? (I searched the comments but couldnt find an answer)
Wow awesome stuff dude! Love that area of the northwest man I’m jealous you get to explore that everyday!
Thanks man! I’ve lived here for a long time and we are still finding now spots to explore. The next mini truck video should be uploaded next week & has a bunch of trails and backroads in it 👌

So much fun! Saludos from DR!

Are they allowed on the freeway? I have a mini Honda Kei van on Guam . Thinking about shipping to Washington.. they are sooo much fun to drive!!!
The vans are awesome! Yes, you can get standard plates for it in Washington and it can be driven on the freeway, I will be doing my 60 mile commute for work in the Acty today and most of it is highway driving 55/60 mph. 👍
Do you think the lack of a locking rear diff is a big deal? It doesn't seem to hold you back much.
Excellent video! The million dollar question is, how tall are you? And are you comfortable driving the ACTY for any length of time? Thanks
Such a sweet lil machine!! Love the vid.
Thanks man!
Back in the old GDR there was a car brand called Multicar, that offered SO much for a minitruck it was impressive. Nowadays they would mostly use bigger cars
I just looked up the Multicar, impressive machines! It’s nice to see so many practical features designed into such a useful vehicle. 👌
I've been waiting for this!
Mini's are worth the wait!
Where did you get your lift from? I am buying one in the next few weeks here and would love to lift it with some bigger wheels!
I bought mine from a fellow on EBay that makes them. Lots of lifts out there but I wouldn’t go higher than 2” to keep CV angles reasonable. 👍
Awesome trucks! I think i need one over here in the uk. What size are the forceum tyres?
こんなにカッコいい軽トラ見たことない😍
Thank you! It’s been a lot of fun and very useful. 👍
The right tool for the job.
In Hawai'i, it's effective!!
How reliable are they? I'm planning on buying one once i turn 15 in 3 months and i don't want to pay alot in repairs
Your videography, story telling and editing is superb. Love the content.
Thank you! I have lots of editing coming up so hopefully posting another video soon 👍
So I'm looking to buy a kei truck out of the 2 you have which would you recommend the honda or the suzuki?
Rad video!!! You guys rip in these trucks :) always inspired by what you guys are up too :)
Thanks Dave! Looking forward to heading west and skating the Forks park soon, we need to skate!

Hello Elio, I hope you will be able to get a Kei truck. They are fun and very useful. Excellent trucks. 👍
Where did you get those trucks? If bought those from the Philippines it would be a Left-hand drive Kei-truck or minivan. Since we drive on the right side of the road here too.
Hello from Germany :D what kind of rims and tires have mounted ? thanks .
@@OlympicOverland hanks for the quick reply . Make me times on the search. The Ebay link works. Thank you very much.
What has your experience been with finding parts for these trucks?
Hi, parts availability is pretty good and I haven’t had any issues. There are a few places in the US that specialize in used parts and importers that stock common items. eBay is great too. I ordered a timing belt kit from Japan and had it in about 1 week.
Cool family

I'm loving yours and Mike's content, thanks.
What year is your truck? I'm looking into getting one.

In Japan, it is called a Kei-Tora(軽トラ).
Thank you! 😁
What exhaust did you end up replacing the stock one with??
I bought a Wiruswin stainless exhaust from Japan and it’s been pretty good. The fit and welds are nice and it’s not very loud with the supplied defuser. One thing that was a hassle on mine (maybe not all of them?) is that the mounting flange was too thick and I had to remove the factory mounting studs on the original exhaust flange and replace them with longer stainless bolts.
Amazing littel Adventure!
Thanks!
@@OlympicOverland Maybe unstoppabel with mattracks!
Wow I have a Suzuki without a diff lock and now I really want a Honda. Do all Honda 4wd come with the diff lock?
Cheers! 👌

Nice mini truck .ilike this video ❤❤
Thanks!
Do you happens to have those wheels / tire specs? I'm seriously looking into buying one and know they need upgrading to be modern road worthy
Watching these, makes me kinda think the subaru with the rear motor really is the ticket...
Would you buy one without the locking differential? Thinking of importing one here to Florida.
@@OlympicOverland thank you so much. Do you know how much the duty and taxes are to bring them in the states?
@@seanzwiefka7056 I think it usually adds about $1000-$1500 extra for shipping and port costs from Japan. There is a small fee to have someone move it at the port for you or a form that you pay yearly for that allows you to retrieve it yourself. Depending on who you go through in Japan, paper work will arrive first and trucks take 1-3 months for shipping. It’s helpful if you live near a main port. Good luck, the trucks are really useful and definitely worth the wait!
Looks way cooler with the lift and bigger tires
Thanks man, the lift and tires definitely helped off road. It would bottom out pretty easy when it was stock in ruts and over rocks so a good upgrade for sure 👌

How important is the locking diff with the kei trucks?
軽トラはタイヤこそ小径だが車体サイズとパワーはWWW2で重宝されたウィリスMBとほぼ同じで車重はむしろ軽い。だからラフロードの走破性が抜群なのだがそのことをほとんどの人は知らない。
Excellent trucks and very nimble off-road 👍
hi there. just wondering what are your thoughts on the mini truck?
I like it, really useful and fun. For me the locking rear differential and low gearing are important features because of how I typically use the truck. It’s done everything I’ve needed it to do from running errands and hauling firewood to camping and exploring trails off-road. 👍
@@OlympicOverland do u find it hard on fuel? i would love a diesel but not sure if there is such a thing
The push button actuates a rear differential lock on the Attack model.
howd you get it with the body in such good condition and how much was it?
@@OlympicOverland thats even better 👌

Yeah a small diesel would be sweet. We have an old ALH TDI in our Golf, 320,000 miles and still going!
Would love to get one of there trucks
They are fun, I’ve never regretted buying mine! 👌
Can I ask how tall you are? Is the driving position or steering adjustable ? I'm 6ft 2....I was thinking of buying the honda romahome
Good luck!
Where did you get the tires on that acty?
Hi, a few distributors get them from time to time in the US but the easiest place is eBay. Look up Forceum MT 13” and they should pop up. They are a 165/80r13 so you will need to pick up some 13” wheels if you still have stock 12” rims. Steelies from a Civic work well.
Awesome. Thank you so much and great video!!
No problem, thanks for watching! I should have some more videos up soon, trying to focus on the channel a bit more this year. 👍
Living the dream! Nice beard
Thanks! I had to shave the beard, it was getting too heavy and cutting into the fuel mileage 😂
I missed my 4x4 pick up truck. We call it multicab in the PH. Traded mine for a minivan with same 660cc engine.
@@franciscraig8164 great machines and they just keep going! Cheers man 👍
