- Färnebofjärden National Park is about 2 hours drive from Stockholm (Sweden). It's one of my favourite places for paddling and it's worth the drive! This time I camped overnight and had a wonderful sunset in my Oru kayak before bedding down on island Sandön. Looks like some beautiful paddling evenings with great reflections on the calm flatwater! Must have been a great trip. How much trouble did the mosquitoes give you?
Without mosquito hat and covering clothes it might not have been bearable. On a previus trip I could hardly assemble my kayak (usually 15 min.) as I was pestered by the mosquitos. Better bring too much protection than too little!
I should add that paddling is fine! No insects away from land.
@@kikikajak1020 Indeed, I hear that area is particularly bad this year, though they've air-bombed against mosquitoes for things to be bearable.
