what other study material did you use other than these videos?

    • @TheADAiction
      @TheADAiction 6 днів тому

@lous4841 I'm a visual learner. I literally got a notebook and pen and wrote notes for all 5 domains. It helped me remember material since I was writing it and reviewing material. My fingers still hurt from writing so much lol.
I purchased an app from the Play Store that had practice questions. I watched UA-cam videos with practice questions. I found practice questions on the internet. Don't do what I did as far as how extreme it was for me. Definitely give yourself at least 2 weeks.
For the app: comptia security+ 2024
For UA-cam: I found videos that had 100+ questions and answers. I set the speed to 1.25x pause the question and answered the question on my own and unpaused to see if I got the write answer. If I didn't, I would read up on it.
Word association is what helped me.
Ex. Put salt on your hash
Ex. Kiddies love rainbows (reference to rainbow table and script kiddie)
      Hope this helps ❤️

@@kimberlyjobe5748 I watched these 5 or 6 times and took notes and then answered every single question from the practice exam book Pete recommends, including the 1000 practice questions and the 2 practice exams, based on domain. Questions I missed I searched the study guide and then asked chatgpt to explain them to me more simply, wrote down what I learned and then studied what I missed. After a day or two I answered the missed questions again to make sure I learned and retained the information. I did that until I got all 1000 questions and both exams 100% correct. I also did the 2 practice exams from the main study guide, but I didn't have time to 100% the 500 questions from that one and probably didn't need to.

My personal study plan over 12 days to get my certification:
-One video a day from this playlist regarding these five domains.
-For every video watched, I will take an official practice exam on each domain from the practice test resource in the description.
-I will have one week left before the test. During that week, I will use Jason Dion's practice tests on Udemy, followed by practice tests on Exam Compass.
    Wish me luck, y'all!

Your planned activities seem reasonable to me but I would caution you with regards to the timeline. Everyone is different in terms of the amount of effort required to prepare for this exam. I had nearly 20 years experience in the industry when I prepared for the CISSP exam. While I know my study methods have proven effective for many, my job experience no doubt factored in how long I prepared for the exam. Use the periodic practice quizzes to assess your readiness for exam day, and don't rush yourself. This exam is expensive and there's no sense wasting money to adhere to a self-imposed schedule that is too aggressive relative to your readiness

The Mnemonic I used for Preventative, Detective, Corrective, Compensating, Directive and Deterrent ("Protect data carefully, Control Access Diligently.") For Access= Directive controls... But the wording is what helped me remember them. Another is Proactive Defenses Can Control Dangers Diligently. I have a serious question; I started this course on udemy with Dion Training overall the class is not too bad. But out of curiosity I went on UA-cam to do a general comparison between INSIDE CLOUD AND SECURITY AND ZION TRAINING I am seeing some discrepancies already, an example: for instance you have the key elements of zero trust as
    Control Plane
    ✓ Adaptive Identity
    ✓ Threat Scope Reduction
    ✓ Policy-Driven Access Control
    ✓ Policy Administrator
    ✓ Policy Engine
    Data Plane
    ✓ Implicit Trust Zones
    ✓ Subject/System
    ✓ Policy Enforcement Point
but Zion training has it as:
    ● Control Plane
    ○ Adaptive identity, threat scope reduction, policy-driven access
    control, and secured zones
    ● Data Plane
    ○ Subject/system, policy engine, policy administrator, and
    establishing policy enforcement points
@ this point I am just a bit stuck and would like to understand if its a version issue maybe this is how it was in the past and now it has been updated and zion failed to update their content. Please enlighten me on this.

Professor Messer is one of the go-to guys for this stuff. I watched through his entire series, now I'm watching this. This seems to be a bit more condensed and really hammer home the exam objectives. Messer takes a slightly more 'big picture' approach but still goes step-by-step through the objectives, in order. I would recommend doing both.

I solved 150 + 110 questions for the 1st domain, first test i got 34 wrong ( out of 150 questions) and the 2nd one i got 24 wrong ( out of 110 questions) can i continue to the next domain? or should i revise?
i know domain 1 is only 12% of exam but i want to be clear with 1 domain before i proceed.
please let me know i used these books:

      @InsideCloudAndSecurity  5 місяців тому +2

Some prepare in as little as a week, but most I would estimate take somewhere between 30-90 days. Depends on your current knowledge level and how much time you can dedicate to studying.

I hope you have been doing well, Shivani. I have started this video series just now although I had gone through Professor Messer's series sporadically before this.
This is my plan and please check if it works for you too. I gather that there are 5 video sessions with varied length for the 5 domains. I will watch 1 hour of video every day, starting today, and with complete concentration. If I have to pause and revisit any topic for better understanding, I will do so. Even if I have to spend 1 and a half hour for a 1 hour video every day, I will be fine with it. So, let me see how many days it takes me to complete all the videos if I watch 1 hour of content every day without taking a break from it. I can not put in more than an hour and a half as there are a lot many troubling things happening in life that I have to attend to.

good content but I beg to differ on the role and relationship between PDP and PEP. The PEP doesn't know anything about the policies, instead, it intercepts access requests and forwards them to the PDP. The PDP then passes access decisions based on pre-defined access control policies. To simplify, PEP sits in between devices/resources and PDP. Based on the decision outcome from PDP, PEP enforces either the deny or access decision. Correct me if I am wrong
