Weird how the 01400s had no door chime and the 015/16 and 17s have door chimes as do the 18s. Also, the 15s and 16s were built six years after the 14s and yet retired nearly 30 years ago and those trains are still running in regular passenger service as of 2024 at a whopping 55 years and counting. They are the oldest rolling stock since the retirement of the 0600s on the Blue Line and some of the oldest rolling stock of any metro system anywhere in the country and in North America, as well as some of the oldest rolling stock of any metro system anywhere in the world. Their Longevity. The 015s and 16s would outlast their specified service life of 25 years by another three decades.

. The PA chimes sounded bad at 6:02 but it could be the VHS quality or the old school cars actually had those creepy sounding chimes.
I guess this was the year before the 1800 series were introduced?

About 2:00 is Andrew. I lived there, at the time, and remember them renovatin' it (&, of course, the big pile of rubble, a year earlier, after they knocked down the old headhouse).
Later footage is Broadway & (I think) South Station.

Not on the 01400s. Those trains were terrible to ride during summertime.
