For those who are wondering about Bolshakov's motives. The doll report titled "For the Motherland" shows he wants to return the USSR to its former glory. The game starts in 1989 and at this point in time goes to about early 1990. That brings us close to 2 years until the Soviet Union falls. Bolshakov and his troops (along with possibly some more disgruntled Soviet officers) are likely part of a radical group within the military who wants the USSR to once again become a global power by staging some sort of coup because at this point in time the USSR was getting weaker and allowing its SSR states to make reforms. This theme of the Soviets getting weaker is highlighted throughout the game where we see newspapers saying that "the Iron Curtain has fallen" and "the Berlin Wall collapses." After the basically confirmed Soviet DLC, we might get a reaction from NATO now that the USSR seems to be on a downward spin. I think with this possible dlc we might get a new machine catagory called the corrupted that are like kinda broken and will use odd tactics that throw you off like shooting missles somewhere else to lure you out to shoot you with bullets but to me a machine catagory called the corrupted sounds terrifying
The underground railway is a nice nod to an actual old Soviet spy report, where the spy in one of his early reports stated that Sweden must have a military underground highway and train system where troops and material was transported, since he hadn’t been able to see any such activities being carried out on the “civilian networks”. The statement was retracted later when he instead described Sweden as a “soft country“, with only little military activity.
If you think about it Fnix saves you in FOA 53, saying "I do not wish for you to die here, they do they have used you" telling you to escape before it blows up, so von Ulmer obviously still has some human emotion, as even in the main game at the end he saves you the player. Von Ulmer seems to have matured alot, he says he's "created" the survivor, he's created someone that can fight his machines, so what if he was training us to deal with the Russian machines in the very first place. And what if now after he's matured and and seemingly got some more of his humanity back he going to reach out to us.
What if FNIX is aware that the Resistance is not only surviving but thriving and becoming harder to defeat. When the Soviets landed, it soon noticed the split in their forces and Bolshakovs mission being a direct threat to the FNIX/Ulmen source code i.e. it's life! It makes sence to befriend Tatiana and hopefully stop Bolshakovs threat and perhaps get her to somehow hand over command of the russian bots to FNIX. That way it would gain the upperhand against the Resistance. Two flies with one smack so to speak (swedish proverb) In the regard of US involvement, I think they try to stay out of it. The Gulf war is imminent and the Sovietunion is still operational albeit weakened. Going head to head with the Soviets at that point would surely only end in nuclear war and that would be to high of a price to pay over little Sweden. Remember that in the 70's there was a lot of anti-US protests in Sweden.
Well, I started looking at this and realised I had found a doll, but had no idea they had messages in them, so I switched it off at once and followed the story. Didn't take that long, but was fascinating - now we know what that crater is all about! And that in spite of the fact that it predated the Russian invasion. Still, now we know. I stood on the tower frowning at the direction the binoculars were pointing, looking for a mushroom cloud, but then had a look at the map and realised...
My Dude, that was crazy. I have read all of those as well, but a DLC? That would be crazy! Maybe with an American invation (with or without Swedish permission) would be great for the DLC. With the survivors and our lone Runsan officer joining forces with FINIX to save it from both the Russans and the Americans. That would be crazy, but in line with the way the hints have been going.
That would be intense right! :D I do wonder if the Americans have taken note of things, really now that we know how the crater was created I think this is going to be hard for the rest of the world to ignore.. Seriously my man, this is the kick off point in a huge way! We're gunna have a metric ton of crazy times in store for us :D
It seems like DLC is coming rather soon since the map north of the resistance island is getting more and more detailed on the map since the last 2 updates. Also, they need to fix the STABILITY since the last update. We spawned our first Reaper, got it down to 25%, and had all of our consoles crash throughout the entire fight with host finally crashing shortly after we crossed the 20% mark. Infuriating doesn't do it justice, especially when I gave our Rocket guy 100 rounds of HEDP just for it to disappear after the system crash.
One thing to consider. What is not to say that the Americans did not invent their own machines? What would happen if FNIX could rewrite the codes of these machines with the ultimate goal of killing humans? You know the saying, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." This could be a web of lies and deciet. These are just some things to consider.
Its very true, the US though seemingly not having any inside agents, its still hard to tell in this "alternate history" whether or not the US would be going down the automaton route themselves, just thinking globally of course! But we could be walking into a trap that FNIX is setting very well, what if he's somehow also instigated Bolshakov? Turns things on its head right there!
from what i understand, it seems like the Sovie scientists and soldiers don't understand that it is an entire self thinking AI that is in control, and not just simple code as they stated. it will be interesting to see where this goes and if any Russian personel will be contacted by FNIX directly, or if it will all climax where it all began, at FOA 53 in the inner chambers of FNIX's AI origin.-
Friends, soldiers and warriors, just be thankful that the machines can't destroy buildings and burn down entire forests with their weapons. Be thankful that there is no survival aspect where you also have to sleep, eat, drink and heal your wounds, be thankful that you don't have to die by a shot of the machines. Because that would be a whole other corner of survival! The dangerousness of the machines would be a madness where only the best of the best survive, may your weapon always work and never need cleaning. Communication finished!
Imagine if something like this universe’s CIA caught wind of the machines. I owning who they are in real life, it would be very interesting to see what they would do regarding the Swedish and Soviet machines
Does the phrase the enemy of my enemy is my friend come to mind after all in one breath fnix is trying to kill/ capture people then on the other hand it sounds like its trying to help the survivors but I still get the feeling that fnix is going to betray or at least try kill the survivors/resistance once this Russian captain is dealt with after all the fnix dlc did show that the machines were out to kill the resistance and knew a few of the survivors who were fighting back that's just a theory to put out there though as it does sound like fnix is hiding something and doesn't want the Russians or resistance finding it maybe it could be a kill code for all the machines also just a thought but the Americans are being very quiet just lately only seen weapons from them maybe they have their own intentions for fnix same as the Russians after all your talking about two very powerful countries who doesn't want the other to get an advantage over the other
Kinda think the phrase “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” wouldn’t work here it would be more like “the enemy of my enemy is my enemy” since all sides are pretty umm untrustworthy
Maybe they should add another machine called the "Dreadnought". To defend the swedish machines from the russian machines. It would have pop-up missile pods from the hull, then be retracted into the hull after firing. as a main gun, maybe its loadouts could be a burst fire railgun, a two-twin naval gun, massive long range flamethrower, gas pod launcher, and a artillery gun to get you from behind cover and obviously from long range. It should only have a FNIX and apoc variant.
It just happens that all of humanity is a threat to it so it decided to wipe us all out to continue expanding (it definitely is trying to expand into the wider world). So it is probably best to wipe it out first
@@Emars118 well yes but fnix was a misunderstood prototype technology it’s only ever been taught about war and how bad humans are only ever seen that side so it’s obvious it’ll think we’re bad
Unless I some how missed it because it seemed like quite a major point, there was also the fact that at the end of one of the reports it said for the Russians to help survivors how they can. Reinforces the point that the Russians aren't a threat to Sweden and are trying help deal with the problem. Though it could've just been an act until they (tried to) take the FNIX code for themselves. Also, based on the train thing. Maybe like GTAV Derailed Mission, except jumping on to the train with a bicycle rather than motorbike. Edit: Just got the the part where it said "worse for the inhabitants I was sent here to save", so most of this comment is pointless.
Wait, why isn't the roadmap including this DLC? Not saying that I don't believe you, but I'd rather stick to the roadmap instead of (possible) speculation. However I do get if the launch of the DLC is supposed to be a surprise instead of it being obvious.
This is pure speculation on my part definitely, but i do have a few thoughts on that end, first up it was all the free stuff so maybe they're keeping paid things (like the upcoming 2nd US weapons pack) on a separate roadmap that we'll either see or just experience, or it could be gearing up for the second half of 2022 as well! But mostly, its just from the tone and directionality of these reports, which i totally get if that isn't concrete enough for folks :D
There is evidence but as far as I know it isn't officially released. Disclaimer as I will reveal how we know. Looking through the game's files there is unreleased and unfinished dialogue titled EXP3 (expansion 3?). FNIX rising's dialogue was EXP2. Oh and did I mention that that dialogue does leak some of the story? I haven't read it all to keep from being spoiled but I know some details like at least one character in the DLC.
@@TenebrisInfinite Well since a 2nd US DLC Weapon pack is confirmed (with the m79 thumper and the COM-10), I hope that they make a 2nd Russian pack with atleast a SPAS-12 or any pack with a new shotgun (and SMG). Shotguns and Submachine guns are very limited.
one thing I did not think was clear. has Russia been invited in by the Swedish government or is it an invading force? otherwise I totally agree with you, without the babuska dolls, the new scenario with the Russians would make no sense at all. since the Swedes hate the idea of Russian military on Swedish soil, they are a neutral state, but Western-minded. one thing i thought they could do something about in the game would be to make the resistance people who have survived more active. I mean, if they have managed to get from the main island to the hotel, it seems pointless that they just sit down in the basement and drink wine from the cask. they would not be out and thin out in the machines, they are well equipped with both weapons, mines and grenades and must have been hardcore, to be able to be unharmed after that trip. and then there is still a lack of "enemies" who have survived. and then one thing about the loot system, especially for ammunition. one can well understand that so many died. they are lying and are loaded with ammunition for which they do not have a weapon and the few who are actually armed usually also have the wrong ammunition. from our perspective as players, they should drop all the dummies who are not armed, should also not have ammunition, they might have baseball bats and molotov cocktails and the like. in other words it's way too easy to find useful ammunition and would make the game me more fun to play if you're going to have to think about what you're shooting at and with what and that you actually if you run out of bullets will be need to run away. and that you have to work harder to get the materials to produce your own ammunition. it would definitely provide another game if you have to work a little to be able to go out and overcome tanks, hunters and harvesters. I do not know what you say ???
Very much a invading force my dude! They have all these crazy inside agents and moles, alongside the attempt at having a quick and efficient mission to obtain the hostile FNIX code for themselves (before bolshakov went mad) As for the surplus ammunition that is a thing, like in game the idea is civil defense had everyone packing, but i can see why you might want further challenge! A small idea as a thing you can do as the player is not picking up the ammunition looting skills, its actually what I do quite often with offensive focused builds! But personally i think the looting side of gz is kinda an integral "video game-y" type thing, requiring a bit of suspension of disbelief :D
Given the machines had been armed with the coma inducing gas from the start and later with worse, and RO had been sending shipping containers full of them all over Sweden and there are no emergency broadcasts on TV even after you take down the towers jamming the local communications, one has to wonder if there is a Swedish government any more... The guy on the radio said they were working with NATO and Swedish forces, but he was also transmitting in Russian before you took down the jamming so clearly he wasn't trying to contact you or the Resistance. Tatiana was saying her troops were hoping to contact locals to help them and later to apologize for attacks by malfunctioning Soviet machines, but her superiors might have been lying to her about their ultimate aims. Either way, the Swedish have been preparing for possible Soviet invasion and with everyone cut off from communications it is very likely there would be incidents of Swedish troops attacking the Soviets or not believing they are friendly, which might explain what happened in Boo. But FNIX has already used hacked communications to trick Swedish military with fake orders and it is based on being able to connect human mind to machine, so I keep wondering if it has somehow managed to infect Bolshakov or sent him false reports. And Tatiana was suspiciously fascinated with the blinking lights on the machines, light effects that make people susceptible to hypnosis are pretty common trope in 80's scifi... And yes, the loot system is not very immersive. All the people either evacuated or assumed they were being invaded and dug in, why are there so many guns in people's houses but so few in military armories? Why are unarmed people carrying ammo but all these people trained under the Total Defense Plan forgot their guns home? Given the original story was that FNIX took control of communications and made a surprise attack while ordering people to evacuate into a trap it makes sense the military storage buildings all over were still unopened, but now it has supposedly been months and both the army and militia have been fighting so why would there still be stuff left in them?
@@AnalystPrime do you have any idea what we should use the bottles of toxic gas for, other than against a teammate, are there any of the machines that can not stand it?
@@LarsVad They should explode like fuel and air tanks, so you can use them for traps but otherwise I think they are there just because lore says FNIX sent those around.
Oh dude!! :D If we could get machine limbs.. Imagine hunter counters with a quick doggo movespeed boost of some sort, would be _so_ gnarly :'D Seriously though, hats off to the team not just for the excellent writing on display here, but having each set piece and location tell the story so vividly!!
Mmmh ... FNIX Friendly overtime ? Naaah ... The remaining scientists like Veronika and us are still a threat to his very own existence (even if with my friend we are questioning ourself if we are not some sort of Terminator with all we take to the face and still alive ...). But i must admit ; FNIX have some really weird behaviors ; at the end of the vanilla game it save us even if we want to blow him up, then try to kill us during his rise and now it want to make contact again ?! Big trickster who want to get out of Ostertörn and get hands on more machines to dominate the continent in my opinion !

I just got back into gen 0 after not playing for a year or so. Imagine my surprise when I see the machines fighting each other and new types. I hope they go further and add aerial machines other than the seeker. Maybe some amphibious ones as well. Also I’d love it if there was one bigger than the tanks and reapers
Sorry I’m late, just finished setting up our trailer for camping also great vid
great video dude! this game will have big potencial!!!!!
The climb up the mountain of potential never ends Norbert!! Thank you for watching my dude 🙏 :D
I do wonder what is gonna happen : )
Is that the vranken pilot breathing gear you have on your character? (talking about the cool looking think on your characters face)
Thats the one! One of the best face items in game :D
@@TenebrisInfinite Ok thanks i’m trying to get it but i can’t find the last side mission in the south coast. Can you make a video showing the location for all side missions talking about where you get them btw this would help. And is there one for the locked bunker at a shoreline on the south coast?
Edit: Do you have the Soviet Ring With Bear Insignia on your character cause i got it and i think it looks cool. Also i think the breathing gear should change the sound of the players heavy breathing when out of stamina to sound like Darth Vader breathing.
last night I started searching for the dolls, I got 1, 8, and 9 i think so far and wow, just a glimpse and already feel something weird going on. I found that Runner on top of a hill SE of Garphammar and ready the doll note and when i read the dude quoting FNIX "he wants to take me back to his homeland" or something, wooooooooo my jaw hit the ground, that was so cool, can't wait for more story content.
I hope you have a good day :)
The Matryoshka reps are so interesting and cool I’ve read it 6 time already and it’s still cool
Seriously dude this is readthrough 4 as of making the video and its just _so frickin cool_ the idea of swapping out body parts for machine parts, bolshakov and all his madness! Tatiana seems like a sick character to meet too :D
America machines is just a m1 Abrams with spider legs or just a battleship that can walk on land because if it ain't overkill it ain't American
just pictured a battleship with people legs

@@TenebrisInfinite thnx lol I realized for some reason they had appeared in my ammunition schematic list. Fixed after a good ol’ restart!
@@TenebrisInfinite On an unrelated topic, what do you think of a marksman spec build focused on sniper rifles only? Maybe an AT-WAD for CQC? Utility items really shine when you’re a little bit squishier!
my dude great video.
The statement was retracted later when he instead described Sweden as a “soft country“, with only little military activity.
my dude, this is hype!
Has anything happened to bunker 666 yet? 🥺
Not yet sadly D: But i do think with us on the cusp of the iron church here in game, we could maybe see it open up in the not so distant future!
Idk if the new machines are supposed to be this way or if it's just a glitch but they sense you from very far away and immediately go after you
Sometimes they agro from so far away I don't even hear or see them and then I just randomly get bombed to obligation
Still waiting for the plundra/ recycling fix to happen unless it has been fixed
Not yet my dude, no word on any hotfixes yet either so we'll have to continue stayin tuned here for a minute :D
Two flies with one smack so to speak (swedish proverb)
In the regard of US involvement, I think they try to stay out of it.
I enjoy these videos
Fnix about to make a super machine lol
Yoooo! Tenebris's voice is so crisp though.
So it’s not just the machines we have to worry about
Look at 3936.452, -556.659 on himfall island, an iron church shootout
My dude 🙌
Infuriating doesn't do it justice, especially when I gave our Rocket guy 100 rounds of HEDP just for it to disappear after the system crash.
my dude this is good news i hope its a free dlc but if not i'll buy it no matter what
Id like Fallout style conversations with FNIX and other NPCs really. Thatd be more interesting than the one sided monologues we have had so far.
OMG 🤯THATS ALL 😁
wooo yeah baby!
I'm getting Metal Gear vibes from this
Drone pack from the seekers
Third I’ll take it!
from what i understand, it seems like the Sovie scientists and soldiers don't understand that it is an entire self thinking AI that is in control, and not just simple code as they stated.
it will be interesting to see where this goes and if any Russian personel will be contacted by FNIX directly, or if it will all climax where it all began, at FOA 53 in the inner chambers of FNIX's AI origin.-
Friends, soldiers and warriors, just be thankful that the machines can't destroy buildings and burn down entire forests with their weapons.
Fnix isn’t bad just trying to protect itself from destruction
It just happens that all of humanity is a threat to it so it decided to wipe us all out to continue expanding (it definitely is trying to expand into the wider world). So it is probably best to wipe it out first
@@Emars118 well yes but fnix was a misunderstood prototype technology it’s only ever been taught about war and how bad humans are only ever seen that side so it’s obvious it’ll think we’re bad
Its true dude, can we really blame him for self preservation?
@@TenebrisInfinite not really
no way this isn’t gonna. e a dlc
my dude!
4rth, but it still sais that there are only 2 reactions xD
UA-cam, drinkin on the job again xD Thank you still for watchin my dude!!
@@kyberbyte the SPAS 12 is Italian, not Russian, a better pick would be a Saiga or VEPR
@@vermark8719 Odd. Could've sworn it was Russian, as I am now looking at it, you're right. Idk maybe I got confused with another shotgun.
If FNIX get it’s hands on the Russian robots, it’s game over man.
German robots that when angry the say random words in aggressive German
My dude
Ah dude that would be equally intimidating and confusing for me xD
one thing I did not think was clear. has Russia been invited in by the Swedish government or is it an invading force?
otherwise I totally agree with you, without the babuska dolls, the new scenario with the Russians would make no sense at all. since the Swedes hate the idea of Russian military on Swedish soil, they are a neutral state, but Western-minded.
one thing i thought they could do something about in the game would be to make the resistance people who have survived more active.
They have all these crazy inside agents and moles, alongside the attempt at having a quick and efficient mission to obtain the hostile FNIX code for themselves (before bolshakov went mad)
As for the surplus ammunition that is a thing, like in game the idea is civil defense had everyone packing, but i can see why you might want further challenge!
