This is Awesome. Some more ideas. Make one with some green Cockpit lighting. Add the Position Lights (though they might not be realistic while fighting) and you could use some overwing vortex condensation strips to fixate the Model with wire in the Air. Or the end tip of the Afterburner, to avoid the black pillar below. Still your Model is remarkably awesome!!!❤
The afterburner effect is probably the most amazing lighting effect I’ve seen - excellent job! Only thing I can think about with the metallic color being blotted out by the Ghost Grey is that you might have to thin out the grey a lot more and apply in very thin coats. Easier said than done - I have to practice that myself for my F-16 build.
I'm always on the lookout for well done inflight aircraft model builds and I love your solution for the afterburner in particular! Well done - inspiring! Cheers, Chris
BTW what diameter and type of acrylic tube are you using to make the exhaust cones? I'm thinking 15mm outside diameter? Will try to replicate your result if I can with one of my upcoming F-35 projects...cheers Chris
LOVE LOVE LOVE the lighting…not so sure about the cotton missile trail…HOWEVER….this goes to prove that you don’t have to “weather/age” to the point where it looks like it wouldn’t even get off the ground, to make it pop! Incredible mate. 👌🏻
Really a great build. The patience it took and the attention to detail. The final result is just spectacular. Thanks for sharing. As far as some who may say something is not right or you overlooked something, I would just say let's see what you got. Cheers.
This turned out pretty awesome! Planes aren't typically my thing (I do Gundam kits), but this is certainly making me want to give scale jets a shot. Wonderful video and wonderful build!
Thanks so much! This would be a great kit for people starting out. It's soooo easy to put together (as long as the landing gear is down lol) it's a bit pricy but worth it. Thanks for watching!!
Great build! Mr Color leveling thinner will improve any air brush painting. It was made by the modeling Gods! Use Tamiya retarder when you thin with normal thinners, it's your second best choice. With regards to Tamiya decals, your best choice is to throw them out and source any decals from reputable on line stores that sell Cartograf decals. More money but it saves you ruining many hours of work. Excellent work my friend.
Amazing build! The lighting is really fantastic. A bit weird to see a f-35 shooting Sparrows, maybe clipping the dorsal fins square would make them look a little more like AMRAAMs?
Gear bay doors are a problem - if , like me , youbuild in-flight models ! ( also need pilots , most kits don't bother about anymore .) with all the bays construction this is almost like a plane with another plane inside it ! Great work .
Looks pretty rad! I think there needs to be a definitive mach cone 3D print design. I've always wanted to do a afterburner effect, you pulled it off nicely.
Great video and congrats on 1k! Like the afterburner! What I find works for me with Mr Surfacer is diluting it 60-70% Mr Levelling Thinners to 30-40% paint and if I’m not happy with the finish immediately after painting I put neat Levelling Thinners in the airbrush and spray it lightly on the model. This blends the surface and makes it much smoother and as an additional benefit it partially cleans the airbrush!
Thanks for the comment! It sounds like I need to thin my paint a bit more. That tip about spraying thinner after painting is gold. Definitely going to try it. Thanks again!
I'm guessing your airbrush has a very small tip size? 0.2? The spray pattern for priming something of this size seems very small. If I'm right, the problem you'll have is that about 70% of the paint is going on as overspray, so it lays down dry and grainy. You need it going down wet. I'd suggest a tip size of .35mm. At a push, you could thin the paint a little less (levelling thinners is fantastic), and spray at a higher pressure and a bit further away. The best resource for modellers here on UA-cam is Scale Model Workshop by Paul Budzik. He has incredible videos that will help understand how to achieve the very best paint finishes. Hope you find this useful.
Looks fabulous, unfortunate about the amraam incident, you didn’t have any aim-9x lying around by any chance to use instead of the aim-7 which isn’t used by the F-35. With that aside this looks great and you did an excellent job with the lighting too!
What I liked: US flag base and afterburner lighting / exhaust plume. The latter is totally brilliant! What I didn't like: wrong type of missile aside, the whole missile launch thingy just doesn't cut it. Good job anyway! 👍👍
For the board and at the base option I use is a router you could find one at Home Depot or Lowe’s for like 5060 bucks and you can just do 2 to 3 passes and save yourself a bunch of time router is super quick but you do want to practice on a separate piece of wood because it can fly all over the place if you are not ready lol. You build a base and save yourself all the time like you said lol
Hey dude I wanted to make something like this but have zero experience in wiring so I was wondering if you could put out a separate “Bonus video” on all the wiring and how you did it Thanks.
Wicked cool build, got a sub from me for sure. I know the missile bays only open for like, 1.5 seconds once the AIM-9X locks and fires to maintain stealth, but sometimes the action shots look cooler this way. Love the way you did the afterburner cone though, that was incredibly neat! Sad that this kit is only wheels down though, usually Tamiya doesn't do that, but oh well, I know that struggle all too well.
The afterburner shock diamonds look pretty good, but no bro, not the Sparrow ones!!! Do the following, remove the AIM-7s with cotton and place the AMRRAMs in the weapons compartment. Freezes the moment the bays open.
With priming I tend to lower my pressure and not go to heavy and thin the paint way down. I rather almost go to thin and have to do multiple coats then one coat and have to wet sand. Just an idea
although its only a quite small detail i think its a pity that tamiya didnt include the gau 22/a with which the F35A is equipped. I know that we wont see a lot of it in the finished model but i think that it would have been a nice touch. Beside this it is a impressive kit 👍
im just wondering, how the hell do you have Radar missiles (the Aim-7 Sparrows) from a A-10 build? The A-10 doesnt even have a radar to use the radar missiles.
Hi Can anyone please help me to buy full builds like this, any help would go a great way I absolutely love these and being an active jet pilot,i have no time to do it myself. Thanks
Thanks for watching and for the great tip! I have a moisture trap on my compressor but I don't know if it is actually working. Need to do some research I think :)
Cool job. Great model. In regards to your airbrushing perhaps your paint is drying too quickly. Try to add a few drops of paint retarded. Does magic for me.
@GhostRider110NL Definitely. People who don't know will not care, but those who do will ruin the whole thing. We know why he swapped them out. Still an awesome job nonetheless.
F-35 firing AIM-7 Sparrows? :) And BTW F-35 cannot rail-launch missiles from MWBs, it jettission them down by catapult launchers and then they fire their engines being 3-5m below the plane body.
lol yup its a bit embarrassing haha. With the missile launches, I was scratching my head for a long time on how to make it not look like a rail-launch but I couldn't come up with anything that looked good enough. Hopefully nobody minds 😂😆
that afterburner is just 🤌🤌🤌

これは実に美しい作品!!次はF2Viper Zeroを作って欲しいです!お願いします!
Damn that afterburner looks so cool
Quick tip man, tape the seal cover to the box for the box art.

Orange LED on missile would have made this one of the most insane builds to date
Brilliant concept and brilliantly executed ! By far the best afterburner effect i have seen. Thank you for sharing
Thanks! Glad you like it! I'm going to try it again on future models to see if I can get it even better :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE the lighting…not so sure about the cotton missile trail…HOWEVER….this goes to prove that you don’t have to “weather/age” to the point where it looks like it wouldn’t even get off the ground, to make it pop! Incredible mate. 👌🏻
Keep doing what you love, I love watching!

Amazing work. I love the creativity. Would you ever consider making one of these again to sell? I would love to buy one!
This isn't a hobby, this is art!
😎👍Very totally very cool and very nicely greatly spectacularly wonderfully looking on a job very nicely fabulously well done indeed Sir!👌.
You could cut the fins of the Sparrow to fit the AMRAAM ones
Fantastic the cone is so beautiful **chefs kiss** I will definitely be tuning in to see you next projects!
This turned out pretty awesome! Planes aren't typically my thing (I do Gundam kits), but this is certainly making me want to give scale jets a shot. Wonderful video and wonderful build!

Hello!! Your diorama is just incredible! This masterpiece may be in a Air Force base! Long live the american-french brotherhood!
Awesome build my friend keep up the good work

Ok can we just admire the craftsmanship of this build and not the mishap…. I’m mean really it’s crazy
lol thanks so much!
I couldn’t get the two body pieces to go together
I need that afterburner effect for my 1/72 f16
Amazing build! The lighting is really fantastic.

アフターバーナーかっこいい!

beautiful very cool but lot of work
Can wait next your work Sir!!!
Thanks for watching! Already started my next one :)
100% Professional. I'm a new Sub
This is overall really impressive, I love the afterburner. Just one thing, I don't think F35s use sparrow missiles, pretty sure it's only amraams.
What I liked: US flag base and afterburner lighting / exhaust plume. The latter is totally brilliant!
What I didn't like: wrong type of missile aside, the whole missile launch thingy just doesn't cut it.

nice kit. good job

I want to see aircraft carrier , I very like you video ❤
What a talent

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bro my one request please create a video how to video edit complete and setup tour 😆🖒
Impressive.

This is a fire build. Great job!

Would you ever try to the do the mirror skin f35c?
sparrow shooting f35. 😢
but looks awesome.
For a beginner would you recommend a particular sprayer? The afterburner and missile trails look great.
你太專業了!🎉🎉🎉
So cool!
thanks!!
what compressor do you use? market is flooded with junk compressors
Outstanding
Thanks!
You really went the extra mile with this one, awesome flag base - nice job!
Thanks! Glad you liked it !
Wrong missile used 😂 AIM-120D , please !
lol yup its a bit embarrassing 🤣but hey you can always trust me to be honest and show my mistakes lol
Fox 1!
😂😂😂 always someone who has to find a fault
AIM-7😂 NO😂
Do this things come in a bigger scale?
Great built !!!! Too bad the AIM 120D incident..... The AIM 120 early version just doesn't cut it.
lol yup! I'm probably going to get some aftermarket missles and replace them eventually. Thanks for watching!
im just wondering, how the hell do you have Radar missiles (the Aim-7 Sparrows) from a A-10 build? The A-10 doesnt even have a radar to use the radar missiles.
What kind of dremel tool are you using? It almost looks like a light saber very cool😂🎉
That turned out amazing. You are very talented. New subscriber here now. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Thanks! Much appreciated!
Say hello to Starscream!
I’m new to your channel but I subscribe for the fart sound effect in the beginning keep on keeping on😅😂😂😂😂
Lol glad you like it!
Rings are called Mach Diamonds
WOW...
와우👏👏👏👏
omg god builder
Hi
Can anyone please help me to buy full builds like this, any help would go a great way
I absolutely love these and being an active jet pilot,i have no time to do it myself.
Thanks
Great build. You show the good with the bad, as it should be. Make sure your drying your air coming from your compressor as that can effect finish.
Thanks for watching and for the great tip! I have a moisture trap on my compressor but I don't know if it is actually working. Need to do some research I think :)
F-35 dont use AIm-7 rosket :c
i feel like if u cut the tips off the end of the aim 7's they would look more like aim 120's, but idk. love the build!!
Cool job. Great model. In regards to your airbrushing perhaps your paint is drying too quickly. Try to add a few drops of paint retarded. Does magic for me.
Great job, but AIM-7's don't fit in the weapon's bay. In fact, the F-35 doesn't even fly AIM-7's
It's a beautiful model, but using the wrong AAM is a bit of a downer.
@GhostRider110NL Definitely. People who don't know will not care, but those who do will ruin the whole thing. We know why he swapped them out. Still an awesome job nonetheless.
Shes a beauty
There is hardly any smoke firing the missiles.
Show
Holy shit man…
those wheel and missile bays are pure modelling po*n
F-35 firing AIM-7 Sparrows? :)
And BTW F-35 cannot rail-launch missiles from MWBs, it jettission them down by catapult launchers and then they fire their engines being 3-5m below the plane body.

I really hope you are selling these…

18:54 Uff a F35 firing an (FOX-1) AIM-7 ;-)
