My day to day film is Ilford Delta 100 developed in DD-X. Zero grain, my goal. If you let the film dry slowly, in a humid environment it will dry flat. I hang my negatives in the shower to dry, and run the hot water for 2-3 minutes right before. The as the steamy environment clears, the film dries flat. If it starts to curl, add more steam. Keep the door to the bathroom closed and the fan off. Congrats on 1k subs. Keep it up. Charlie in Virginia.
First of all, thanks for this great channel and your work as well as passion! For color, my favorites are CineStill50, if I want to have it detailed, with movie-like colours; but if I want to have a dreamy look, Kodak Gold 200 is the best, especially in combination with older lenses like Leica M Summilux 35 pre-Asph. Regarding BW, I am with you, HP5 is great!
Very nice man. Grats on the 1K. It's so hard to get subs these days with so many amazing channels out there but yours is honestly one of my top 10 photography related channels. As for my films, I just started shooting film more seriously this year on my Canon AE1 and Leica M2. I shoot Kodak ColorPlus and Fuji Industrial most of the time because it's the most readily and widely available here in Japan. But I have also shot TMAX400, HP5 and Superia. Also just shot Cinestill 800T in Tokyo a few weeks ago! It's been fun. Also picked up some Ektar and will be shooting that soon too. It's been really interesting and re-invigorating to my photography.
Dude, for US residents only? Thats a bummer :) I like the fine grain in Delta 400 and Rollei Retro 400. Kodak ProImage 100 I've always felt is underrated.
haha yeah I had to start small with this first giveaway but there will be more! Love that Retro 400 and ProImage is definitely slept on. Really smooth colors
Wow!! Excellent video and glad I discovered your channel. Learned a lot from this video and have been shooting since the ''70s. I miss Kodak Plus-X the most and, of course, Kodachrome 64. I was a fan of Ektachrome as well but usually shot the 160 for more speed. It had cooler tones than Kodachrome and more forgiving on exposure. Agfa had a C41 slide film that was similar to Ektachrome with a color balance similar to standard tones on Canon DSLR's. I love what you had to say about Ektar for portraits. There was no Portra way back then and most of the pro's used stuff called Kodak VPS 100. I did use a lot of Ilford FP5 because it was cheaper than Tri-X but I was more of a fine-grain guy. I was wondering if you have tried Kodak ProImage 100 that is available through B&H?
Hi Quintavius big fan of your philosophy and style. I'm a beginner photographer I have a fuji but I am saving for a film camera. It would be really cool if you could do a video on film basics some of us are very intimidated.
Thank you for the video. I love your work. As you said in another video, i have nothing against the people who shoot lines, shadows and colors, but I like your style a lot better ;)
ProImage 💯 and ColorPlus 200. Underrated color stocks that are very affordable. Sample ProImage : instagram.com/p/CFKdTFiH7tU Sample ColorPlus : instagram.com/p/CE5HgdYnhn6
Great video. Love the trigger about "real photographers". You sound like me talking about so-called street photographers on IG. 🤣🤣🤣 As a fellow film shooter, my favourites are very similar to yours. Colour: Kodak Ektar 100, Kodak Portra 400, Cinestill 800T and Kodak ColourPlus 200 as a cheap backup: B&W: Ilford HP5 Plus, Acros II and Kentmere 400 as a cheap backup. As an added bonus, I have a nearly spot-on Kodachrome 64 film simulation I shoot on my Fujifilm bodies. Only the real film G's know that it's not real film.
Thanks! You know what? I'll be honest and say that I completely forgot about Acros 100! I haven't shot it in so long but that was my most used film for YEARS. Great stuff. If only Kodak would bring back a Kodachrome equivalent but the closes thing I can get to that is a Leica M9
@@quintaviusoliver8149 yeah bruh! That M9 is a problem especially if that sensor has been replaced with one that doesn't corrode. It's a lovely camera. They're overpriced in the used market though. I LOVE Kodachrome but the best I can do right now is my Fuji simulation or the VSCO filter if I'm posting something to IG. I need that NatGeo look and feel that Steve McCurry had back in the day.
I remember shooting some ILFORD a very long time ago !. Not using film now (still) but I love to fiddle with my Fuji camera recipes and re-create those classic film looks. As always, great shots AND music on your side. My insta @cestbibi

When it was still available, Fujichrome T64 was a fun film to shoot at night. A bit tricky because of how slow it is, but the colors were amazing.
I've yet to use Portra 400 and Ektar but excited to try them soon. Portra 160 is my favourite so far. Great channel!
