i love eureka! i hated that no one stopped to consider that eureka had struggled with EDs. no one ever considers the feelings of fat people, especially when we say we’ve had issues with EDs! we’re often just laughed at. hell we can’t even access ED treatment the vast majority of the time unless it’s for binge eating.
Yeah that moment never sat right with me. It’s very normal for people with any noticeable difference that they’ve experienced bullying over to internalize that and learn to joke about it to both make it hurt less and ingratiate yourself with the people teasing you. Obviously I don’t know Eureka personally but since the first time I saw that moment I felt like I understood where she was coming from and wished that she was treated more sympathetically
yes but that doesn’t give her the right to comment on someone else’s body. just because she might have struggled with an ed doesn’t mean she suddenly gets a pass to make fun of others bodies.
@@meowmdosI agree that commenting on somebody’s body is rude no matter what, especially in the context of EDs. However it should be understood that, although all sorts of people struggle with ED and self image, fat people undeniably have it the worst in terms of receiving hate, bullying, and vicious abuse under the guise of “wanting you to be healthy”. If you’ve never personally experienced that I don’t think you can understand what it’s like to struggle your whole life over your body image and still be seen as gross and invalid in your struggle while thinner people with similar experiences get much more wide acceptance and sympathy. Everything about Eureka’s loudness, competitiveness, and sometimes rude assertiveness reads to me as a deeply hurt person trying desperately to earn respect and admiration they’ve never felt before. I think she definitely deserves compassion and a second chance given the person she has become now. We all know hurt people hurt people but Eureka seems to have grown and learned since then
Stress eating exists!!! I tend to get stressed or anxious and just end up feeling like I can't get full. On days I am calm, I tend to NOT eat as much. It's difficult
@@therevoltingslob2564 I agree that this is all probably true but I just can't agree that the queens were wrong for not considering Eureka in that moment when she didn't invite a conversation, she made a tasteless joke about someone's body. I would've absolutely loved to see a thoughtful conversation on ED and beauty standards in that moment but it didn't happen because Eureka was the one being dismissive when Valentina was trying to be vulnerable. I'm no Valentina fan and I'm pretty neutral on Eureka but I'd have loved to see that conversation go in a way where Valentina got to have her moment of vulnerability (and probably Sasha too), at which point Eureka could've spoken about the stigma surrounding plus sized people and spoken about her struggles. It just sucks that instead of a scenario where everyone got their voice, it turned into an argument over a misplaced joke.
I will never forget Eureka´s AS final speech. It genuinelly left me sobbing. It was so powerfull and touching. I´ve always had a soft spot for Eureka. I´m so glad she was given a platform like We´re Here.
Idk why I’m replying specifically to you but for me I didn’t enjoy her on my screen because I found her personality very intense/ American. Things she did or said would be considered rude where I’m from. However I never brought that to her social media pages cause I’m not degenerate. I see it more as a cultural difference.
@@stayforthepeelpronpls4774 Thank you for realizing that! It's kinda an American thing, partly a southern US thing, & partly just her personality. I think there's also an element of persona/drag style, because "big girls" mostly have to be "comedy queens," which often involves a "big personality." Did I use enough quotes in this comment?
i feel the same toward eureka as i do about kornbread and latrice, i love my big girls who truly are the total package, i've never felt more represented in media than when they were on their respective seasons, because nobody ever expects anything good from big people, everyone hates us so much just for existing, as if we have a choice but to exist or to go away, but they just shine so bright that you can't ignore them at all, I love my confident big girls who refuse to sit on the sidelines, they take up space and own the room and I thank them for that because its hard to go through life feeling like you don't matter and it feels good to see people being like, "bish we're here, we're big, we're beautiful, get over it"

I remember really wanted her to win AS6. Her speech during the finale made me cry so hard. But I could never say Kylie didn't deserve that win. She was amazing the entire season.
Can we get an honourable mention for the moment in time. Where Eureka posted a photo of herself with like 15 shopping bags and she got dragged so hard by everyone claiming the bags were empty. That was camp. (I think mayhem started it???)
I met her a couple of weeks ago at a small bar in Vegas. She wasn’t performing or anything she was there to enjoy herself, anyhow she was super nice to anyone who walked up to her and asked her for a picture or talk to her.
I love Eureka. I think she is so representative of a NORMAL human being who says dumb shit, makes mistakes, but means well and seems to have good intentions. And she’s obviously incredibly talented. I’ve loved seeing her on We’re Here.
Truly and sincerely the person behind the eureka character, I hope she is healing and growing into a better person each day. Having watch the recent We’re Here season I’m glad she’s fully accepting herself ❤️
She knows how to play drag race that's for sure. Like Miz Cracker , Rajah O hara , Jujubee , etc all girls have done well or well enough each time they compete that it seems like they know how to conquer most challenges
According to a interview that Peppermint did, Eurecka wasn't the only 1 to be injured, but she definitely was the one who actually was injury real bad.
Society knows that overweight (in 90% of the cases) is related to eating desorders, but in Eureka's case at least at the begining it dosen't looks like because she alwas was proud of her sizes
I don’t think that’s what the issue with this was- eureka didnt know the other girls that well, and while joking can be a form of dealing with trauma and mental issues, joking about something that serious in front of people whos histories you dont know isnt a great idea bc a lot of people dont enjoy dark humor. ive had to learn to read the room in thar way myself so no shade to her thats j what i think about it
@Vicente Altamirano literally, in my country there's a program for people who are obese to get free help to lose weight. they offer consultations, meal plans, they pay for you to go on a controlled liquid diet where they measure your essentials and make sure you're okay basically, even offering therapy to discuss why food is a comfort to them and if any past traumas have gotten them to the weight they are. My mum did this programme and she lost 40 kilos, mainly through the dieting but also learning other coping mechanisms to help the comfort eating. many people eat because of trauma, low self esteem and more and there needs to be the same access for people who are both overweight and underweight, otherwise its going to get worse and our healthcare systems are going to be fighting the consequences of these issues rather than dealing with the issue in the first place. end of my Ted talk lmao
@@vicentealtamirano4592 are you trying to say that 90% of fat people are fat because of eating disorders? where on earth are you getting that statistic? also we suffer from starvation disorders at massively high rates, so please don’t assume the EDs fat people suffer from are majority binge eating related.
@@melodiclogic9904 a liquid diet? that ‘programme’ is like an eating disorder in itself, yikes. my mum also did a similar ‘liquid diet’ and it has messed her up for life. but hey, she was thin for a year so i suppose it ‘worked’
I really like Eureka. Some of the queens I like the most talk so highly of her & her drag! It honestly made me appreciate her more. She’s phenomenal & it’s shocking she hasn’t won yet.
I’ve always enjoyed Eureka! I didn’t realize she’s received so much hate in the past and I’m genuinely confused as to how she’s controversial… can people not have a single opinion or make a single joke? I think there are far more people deserving of criticism than a bubbly drag queen with lots of positive energy. Much love to Eureka! 💖
Well, it doesn't take too much to be friendly to someone, but when you say, oh I was rude because I didn't recognize you, make me think that if it were someone like me (simple mortal) they wouldn't even bother to be nice.
2:25 imo as someone with an eating disorder (just diagnosed with “disordered eating” since I don’t fit cleanly in any of the boxes.) you can joke about your type of eating disorder, not eating disorders as a whole. So I can make jokes about not eating but I’d never make a joke about binge eating because I don’t struggle with that.
I think it's pretty fair to speculate that Jackee Harry is a follower of drag race, and probably took the Vixen's side of things at the time. Nothing shattered the conversation more than when the Vixen said, "Everyone is telling me how to react, but no one is telling her how to act."
I think Eureka! on AS6 was exactly what she needed with the fandom, she NEEDED a season where she was lovable in the background, in a more subtle way so the fans could really appreciate what she has to offer!
I've known Eureka a long time. Her home club is Newbies in Johnson City but it's sister club (in my mind anyway) is scandals in Asheville NC, which I lived at on the weekends at one time. The show really enjoys giving her a villan edit. She has her moments yes. ( ex. My favorite was when my best friend who was super drunk said he tipped her a dollar and she said "Great. Now I can buy a McDouble" he still hates her and its been a decade) but she can also be so kind. I cant say I have alot of interaction with her specifically but I did apologize for my drunk friend and she was kind. And if we ever met in the smoking hole she would always speak
She’s literally one of the nicest queens to grace the show and the fact that she gets bullied for the dumbest things just shows how much we don’t deserve her
I love Eureka! She in my opinion is one of thee best “big girl” queens to have competed on RPDR. Her looks never fail to be incredible and she never lets her size hold back her fashion choices. Mistress Isabelle Brooks is doing a good job as well. So she could reach that level for me as well. But for now Eureka is still an incredible queen and I really hate this attitude fans have towards her.
*its the ‘in a way’ & ‘sort of’ when complimenting Eureka for me. 🤔 I honestly think she did really good in Season 10 especially with what we saw of her on S9.* 🌹
Eureka is an excellent drag queen ,,.. she won that lipsync against Aquaria TWICE …. But I’m glad that she is educating herself and getting the chops that she deserves in HBO
So happy to see a new video (dont feel rushed on anything tho we are patient!) I honestly was surprised you didnt mention the irony of the Lip Sync episode from All Stars and how Eureka was hated on yet again for beating Silky and coming back right after she was eliminated. Silky was also really REALLY hated in her original season and had a massive redemption in All Stars and when Eureka beat her I saw a lot of ironic hate from fans (most of whom probably hated on Silky during S11). But alas, I dont think our Elephant Queen will ever get the true respect she deserves. Thankfully We're Here has her cast in a much better light.
I like Eureka, but let's not pretend she was not guilty in Season 10 for stirring sh1t, on purpose, especially with The Vixen. She was problematic that season but has since grown I believe, but still has work to do. That moment with Gia was purely for the camera, so Eureka could get shown in a positive light, and that's why Gia was not interested in hearing it in that moment. Big or small, who cares, treat others how you wanna be treated, and do it for the right reasons.
I've always had a soft spot for Eureka - she's shown real growth over the years despite her struggles. Her first season is also the first season of Drag Race I ever watched, so the cast holds an extra special spot in my heart
Haven’t seen a season with eureka but it’s genuinely INSANE that someone can tear their ACL and then KEEP FILMING A TV SHO WHERE THEY WEAR HEELS. I know athletes that have torn their acl and it immediately turns them into a crying screaming child
Aquaria just did better than Eureka. That's the clear case. She was pipping everyone else to the top for the majority of the season, even in challenges like Snatch Game which she wasn't supposed to be a highlight of.
Altough I completely agree with all of The Vixen's comments and ideas about race, I really do think that she liked to use that a lot in order to defend herself from actually hypocritical behavior. For example, she criticized eureka for saying that "she apologized for her behavior but put no effort in changing it" but it's actually hypocritical because she said the exact same sentiment on untucked on an earlier episode. She spoke about Eureka's quote on quote "unprofessionalism" during snatch game and tried to get the girls on board to criticize her for that but literally all the girls went to defend eureka, even girls who were supporting the vixen at all times like monique and asia, which shows her delusion at that point. And even off the show she's still having beef with both bob and monet
i did appreciate that aquaria called out the people who got mad at the vixen, and how she said like "i was emotional in the moment but she was right and if you dont think so ur part of the problem"
Honestly I like how Ru handled the reunion. I think the pure shock of it all led fans to immediately pick sides, but looking back at it without bias, it was a great microcosm of how conflict is dealt with in different ways. The younger audience of Drag Race is gonna struggle with the nuance of the situation and how not offering support isnt always neglect. I dont 100% agree or disagree with The Vixen, RuPaul, Asia O'Hara, or Eureka in that reunion, but the dialogue it created was important to listen to.
I'm not a huge fan of a lot of things that Eureka has done, but one thing where I believe she is correct is the "don't joke about that" moment. Every year when we get to the reading challenge, there are a variety of reads on the skinny girl... and the fat girls, infamously called out by... i don't remember... but they said, after their reads, "I can't wait to hear all the ways you call me fat!" (I actually think it might've been Eureka who did it, maybe Lawrence Cheney? Im brain injured af please to not come for me!) Even as a person who's not very heavy and has struggled with ED for better than half my life, I always thought it was so fucked up how she couldn't even JOKE about a thin girl when being thin. Let's be real here, someone Eureka's size - with some medical exceptions - likely has an earring disorder. We just don't treat binge and over eating disorders the same way we treat the "skinny people" EDs, even though I would argue they cause at minimum as many, and probably more, deaths than anorexia and bulimia. Additionally, many overweight people are hiding crippling bulimia - at my highest weight, I was creeping up on 200 lbs at that point and hiding severe bulimia. No one ever taught me what a healthy relationship with food looked like and v much treated me like "fat = all better" and a family member even got me one of those *hilarious* "I beat anorexia" shirts. SMDH. Which, let's be real, that's another fat joke... most of the people who get those shirts have never had fucking anorexia.
Eureka is genuine and actually cares about things and that’s why so many fans and other contestants couldn’t vibe with her, everyone else is fake as fuck and not real and because fakeness is the wave that a majority of the world follows they could never see reality. Plus shes literally sooooo funny and sooo talented and detailed with her looks
The toxic fans are thee real enemies

i love eureka! i hated that no one stopped to consider that eureka had struggled with EDs. no one ever considers the feelings of fat people, especially when we say we’ve had issues with EDs! we’re often just laughed at. hell we can’t even access ED treatment the vast majority of the time unless it’s for binge eating.
The "Bebe Rexha" in hair and makeup so Aquaria could recognize her comment sent me to Mars cause I'm a Teletubby 😭🤣
never understood the hate she got... she seems like an excited anxious gay kid who sometimes mess up... and i relate
Nobody was killed at Stonewall. Nobody was killed?
i feel the same toward eureka as i do about kornbread and latrice, i love my big girls who truly are the total package, i've never felt more represented in media than when they were on their respective seasons, because nobody ever expects anything good from big people, everyone hates us so much just for existing, as if we have a choice but to exist or to go away, but they just shine so bright that you can't ignore them at all, I love my confident big girls who refuse to sit on the sidelines, they take up space and own the room and I thank them for that because its hard to go through life feeling like you don't matter and it feels good to see people being like, "bish we're here, we're big, we're beautiful, get over it"
Hoping Mistress changes the big girl curse . 🤞🏼
Big girl? where? 😅
not with the unwarranted hate she’s getting
Me tooooo
Thankfully she does seem to be popular but lets be real. Most people are riding the Sasha Colby train. I just dont see production crowning anyone else other then Sasha.
i wish!! but i just feel like sashas gonna take it and i cant imagine it going any other way. also imagine the uproar from fans if sasha didn’t win. i feel like the big girls are always good enough to make it to the finale but never get crowned, its so frustrating. i feel like that’s what’s gonna happen with mistress :(
edit: i forgot to say, if she doesnt win i still really hope she comes back for an all stars bc she can def win it!!!
(I think mayhem started it???)
i remember this 😭
Bebe prolly still gets 2 gigs per year let's bffr AJAKDKAMDMSMF
Jackie randomly reading Eureka is actually funny as hell 😂😂😂😂
No but like, who even is jackee harry?
@@adamchaplin9702 a black celebrity know for being everybody’s auntie. if you gotta ask, you clearly aren’t part of the culture
I met her a couple of weeks ago at a small bar in Vegas. She wasn’t performing or anything she was there to enjoy herself, anyhow she was super nice to anyone who walked up to her and asked her for a picture or talk to her.
16:58 GreenGay is hilarious, I’m hollering 😩
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I cackled so loud at this mark. Too funny.
I DIED LMAO
You should do a video about the Brita Filter drama and the hate she received
I love Eureka. I think she is so representative of a NORMAL human being who says dumb shit, makes mistakes, but means well and seems to have good intentions. And she’s obviously incredibly talented. I’ve loved seeing her on We’re Here.
Truly and sincerely the person behind the eureka character, I hope she is healing and growing into a better person each day. Having watch the recent We’re Here season I’m glad she’s fully accepting herself ❤️
although eureka is, um... controversial, sure, let's put it like that, she was a great player in all her seasons and i admire that
she literally isnt controversial anymore and hasnt been for years.
@@angelicpretty777 nowadays you are defined by your mistakes instead of how you learn and grow from them and it’s toxic affff
She knows how to play drag race that's for sure. Like Miz Cracker , Rajah O hara , Jujubee , etc all girls have done well or well enough each time they compete that it seems like they know how to conquer most challenges
She still doesn’t pass the vibe check
@@robertnaranjo5767 i'd give her the benefit of the doubt but yeah
According to a interview that Peppermint did, Eurecka wasn't the only 1 to be injured, but she definitely was the one who actually was injury real bad.
many people just assume that bigger folks don’t suffer from eating disorders, it’s really sad
This was really well done. It showed by negative and positive aspects and seems to be a nonbias view of Eureka. Kudos
Appreciate the love 💚
I really like Eureka. Some of the queens I like the most talk so highly of her & her drag! It honestly made me appreciate her more. She’s phenomenal & it’s shocking she hasn’t won yet.
I’ve always enjoyed Eureka! I didn’t realize she’s received so much hate in the past and I’m genuinely confused as to how she’s controversial… can people not have a single opinion or make a single joke? I think there are far more people deserving of criticism than a bubbly drag queen with lots of positive energy. Much love to Eureka! 💖
Unique and thoughtful drag race commentary we don't normally see. Bravo
Why was I thinking Eureka on AS6 was her second all star run 😭
I think it's pretty fair to speculate that Jackee Harry is a follower of drag race, and probably took the Vixen's side of things at the time. Nothing shattered the conversation more than when the Vixen said, "Everyone is telling me how to react, but no one is telling her how to act."
I think Eureka! on AS6 was exactly what she needed with the fandom, she NEEDED a season where she was lovable in the background, in a more subtle way so the fans could really appreciate what she has to offer!
This aged beautifully.
Can you tell me how please? I’m new to watching the show and can’t always stay updated with everything.
And if we ever met in the smoking hole she would always speak
this makes me think that if mistress makes it to top 4 this season she won’t win 😢
If Shane Dawson was on the make-over episode his runway song would be Hey Kitty Girl
😂😂😂😂
@@iain9757 Glad someone got that joke, but honestly him on drag race... gurl the cancellation of it all.
She won the general public, btw.
Every time I see a blank vs the world video instantly rupaul shouts “it’s the ____ vs the world! It’s blu, and mama ru” in my head
The only Dawson we want to see on Drag race make over challenge is the legendary Lee Dawson period💅🏽
She's too busy bottoming on tim tales
*its the ‘in a way’ & ‘sort of’ when complimenting Eureka for me. 🤔 I honestly think she did really good in Season 10 especially with what we saw of her on S9.* 🌹
Alright but why do I secretly wish that they would've actually made Eureka lipsync with her crutches on?! Haha that would've been GOLD
The shade is so subtle and that’s what makes it ten times funnier.
Calling Eureka to the center of the stage to tell her something that should’ve been private just for impact was so insensitive.
“Bebe Rexha, an up and coming singer”
💀💀💀 please
Even though it was a tense moment during season 9, I’m glad “don’t joke about that” has become a modern RPDR meme lol
Eureka is an excellent drag queen ,,.. she won that lipsync against Aquaria TWICE …. But I’m glad that she is educating herself and getting the chops that she deserves in HBO
So happy to see a new video (dont feel rushed on anything tho we are patient!)
I honestly was surprised you didnt mention the irony of the Lip Sync episode from All Stars and how Eureka was hated on yet again for beating Silky and coming back right after she was eliminated.
I’ve met her and she was lovely. She was also the first drag queen that I ever liked from drag race when my friend showed me the primer of season 9
I know athletes that have torn their acl and it immediately turns them into a crying screaming child
babe wake up new GreenGay
I'll forever adore Asia for that moment in the reunion
Almost 5 years later, anyone know why Jackee Harry doesn't like Eureka?
I desperately need to know why Jackee went off like that, but I know we will never find out
I’ve never been this early before….and I was like….where is Detox
I didn't like her so much at first because she's definitely a lot, but then she grew on me and I love her now.
will always be one of my favs, tysm
Side note but Eureka is from my home area and I still can't believe someone from here got on the show.
This video made me understand more Eureka and actually like her a lot. And see the diva attitude that aquaria has 😐
i did appreciate that aquaria called out the people who got mad at the vixen, and how she said like "i was emotional in the moment but she was right and if you dont think so ur part of the problem"
The title alone has sent me...
Great work!
Thank u! 💚
We’ve STILL never had a Large Queen… Eureka ABSOLUTELY won over Aquaria… And, I LOVE Aquaria! But, I’m glad Eureka is doing so well… Just LOVE her.
I've never understood the hate for Eureka, she's one of my all time favs. She's the first big girl winner of my heart
Without fail everytime I hear that "No one died at Stonewall" intro
I always cackle
Love her or hate her, you can’t deny that “the big girl… wins” is iconic
Eureka was and will always be iconic! She could have won any of the seasons she was on xx 💗💗💗
Except S9. Most of that cast could win any other season though.
Very interesting.
I still think Nina should have been Blac Chyna
Are you actually a surgeon? If so, heyyyy
As someone who lives in Johnson City TN; its always wild seeing it on the screen lmao
So Eureka can be racist and people forgive her but when other queens do you all cancel them so odd
She was cancelled for a while after saying she wanted to be black
So what I’m hearing is that Eureka actually came to win an the other girls were mad.
Some of this is just so hilarious ugh. “Wasn’t nobody talking to you” 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
10:22 now I understand a Tic Tac lunch. I didn't until now
Aquaria using Vixen's "Too vague" though 11/10
“Bitch who’s on right now?” I died 😂😂😂
If anyone hates her, I suggest watching We're Here. Because I loved her after that.
Im brain injured af please to not come for me!)
Even as a person who's not very heavy and has struggled with ED for better than half my life, I always thought it was so fucked up how she couldn't even JOKE about a thin girl when being thin. SMDH. Which, let's be real, that's another fat joke... most of the people who get those shirts have never had fucking anorexia.
it was eureka that said that!
16:57 the way I spit out my drink 😂😂😂
Eureka is one of my favorite Queens of all time.
The Bebe Rexah vs Aquaria drama
Eureka is one of the best queens, TV has seen.
Did sort of DELIVER?????👀
GURL... SHE 👏ATE! 👏
