I mean about a "new style" flag pole? My first thought is that you may have never seen a flag pole such
as the one I will be installing. There's a very good reason for this new flag pole style & I'm sure you
will be interested in watching this short 3 Part video set on installing a new flag & new style flag pole.
Joe has some important tips to show you, when it comes to installing the new flag pole bracket, into stucco.
There's some do's & don'ts, when it comes to the type of stucco you will be installing in to. Do you know
what type of stucco you have? Installing the flag pole bracket will take up most of your time, when it comes
to installing a new flag pole. Just watch "joe" & it will become clear as to how to install the bracket holder
for the new style flag pole.

Who ever designed the mount plate should have put the two screws at the top instead of the bottom. The weight of the flag will exert more force ( pulling away from the wall)on the top of the plate.....two screws on top would hold better than one
Exactly. They should have put the screws two top and two bottom just to keep it evenly secure.
I bought one that has 2 top and 2 bottom. 😉
I would agree plus a few years later on a very windy day this metal bracket snapped off when the flag was in there can you believe it?!!

Aren't you supposed to screw them in an angle to prevent rain water from going inside the whole?.. also, using caulking is recommended.
I've never heard of putting the screws in at an angle to prevent water but I was doing that since there was only one edge of the wall stud present so I was putting in at an angle to hit the left & right edge of the wall stud & yes put a little dollop of caulking in the actual screw hole before putting the screws in. You could also put a small bead of caulking along the top edge of the flag pole bracket after you secure it to the wall for more water protection. Good call!
