Make sure all of your doors, hood and lift gate are closed. Sometimes it may require you to turn off the ignition again, so ignition off, like you are leaving the car, open and close your door lock and unlock the car, then try and restart the process again. Make sure you scroll through the entire menu, just incase they move the workshop menu to a different location.
I just got finished changing the oil on one about 15 minutes ago. I just used my left hand to pull up on the charge pipe just enough to clear the filter. It only took maybe 1/16th of an inch to get it out
If it doesn’t work for me, I always try again, if that doesn’t help try turning off the vehicle for 15 minutes, then try again. Sometimes it won’t reset if there is still a lot time left to the next service, Try exiting out, go in and check the remaining service life. I have also had that prompt and it still reset, so letting the car go to sleep and rechecking will show it had reset. In the rare case, It may be a software error, the dealer would need to attempt a reset through their computer, there may be an update your car may need.
The number is just a different grade of oil, like (0w40 or 5w30). Most Mercedes go with the .51 or 52 oils, but it’s dependent on the climate you live in or the oils your Mercedes dealer recommends. The difference will be the mileage the car will reset the service to. Just reset it to the .5x interval.

what do you do when it says "full service could not be carried out"? send em to mercedes at that point?

Some people select oil grade 229.51. Can you tell me why you selected 229.71? Is that matter?

What about the oil grade for my gle 450? I live in Bay Area California the MB dealer told me 5w-40 but what about 0w-20?
