You made that fix so much more difficult. If you take the vapor barrier off completely by cutting the sealant with a razor blade, you will not damage it. The clips are constantly going to fail. Metal on plastic not a good design, especially if someone slams your rear doors all the time. Now that you have glued the plastic piece in place, you're screwed when you need to replace the window regulator again, and/or door handle carrier, which requires the window completely out of the way and removed from the door. What a mess. the plastics are a dollar a piece.
