American Trains through the Wars
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 лют 2016
- Over the years trains have had a large impact on wars involving the United States. From transporting tanks, jeeps, ammunition, soldiers, and more they've kept things on track for the allies to win. (Most of the time...) Anyway, in Trainz 12 we take a look at the evolution of American locomotives from the American Civil War up to the modern day War on Terror. Not all trains are military related simply because I lack the funds for JointedRail's Military Freight Car Set. Sorry about the mouse cursor, I thought the setting for it displaying was off.
Music Used:
Yankee Doodle
Last Long Mile
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy - The Andrews Sisters
When they Drop the Atomic Bomb - Jackie Doll and his Pickled Peppers
Paint it Black - The Rolling Stones
The Washington Post March - Розваги
Even in the days of war, progress didn't stop back in then and it ain't stopping now. Because, as a railfan, WAR ain't gonna hurt the progress of the rails into tomorrow.
It might actually help railroad progress in some ways. It will result in more rail traffic, and by extension, more money that can go towards infrastructure and locomotive development. That being said, I still despise war. I see it as a plague that has poisoned humanity and killed billions of people and destroyed countless civilizations.
The Intro is so nostalgic.
My grandpa.was in the Vietnam war and survived and still lives to this day

As a matter of fact nobody really cares about your comment, just another absolutely pathetic way to attempt to gain attention.

The Korean War actually still had steam locomotives as main power even though dieselzation was taking place
World War II lasted until 1945. 1941 is when the US entered the war, and we were mainly focusing on Japan at the time.
+Joshua Kosek Oops I meant to put 1945 to signify the end.... not 1941..... I'll have an annotation put up there. I was rushing that little bit and I most likely confused or misplaced the US start and put it as the ending. I used the European start mainly because that's when it actually began rather than just the US involvement.
+AmtrakGuy365 makes sense. However during 1939-1941, we weren't transporting military equipment, except along the east coast to load onto ships. Every so often trains would cross the country with weapons and food, but not tanks. I think it would've made sense to have a pre and post war train. still a good video.
Also Nazi Germany use trains to carry anything.
We focused on defeating the Nazis, then we focused on the pacific front
Ik, but nazi actually use trains to carry megastructures like schewer gustav
Awesome!
CSX didn’t had AC4400CW’s in 1991 since the AC4400CW actually came out in 1995. Because at the time in 1991 when Gulf War was going on CSX was still using a mix of liveries on both former locomotives from the Chessie System, Seaboard Coast Line, Clinchfield, Seaboard System and L&N railroads respectively which were the predecessor roads that became part of CSX and the livery that CSX had at the time in 1991 for its livery of its own locomotives was the stealth gray livery with blue CSX lettering basically the inherited and all gray liveries the two liveries made up early years of CSX.
Nice! and with the gulf war train the UP SD40-2 which was painted cammo would have been good.
+Maine Railfan© I would've used it but I figured that was used after the war and this was depicting trains during the war.
AmtrakGuy365 yeh It was painted a few months before it ended but wasn't used during it.
While it would've been cool, it wouldn't be historically accurate or even nessasary. The American mainland, from what I know, after Pearl Harbor and pretty much failed Japanese balloon attacks (I've heard about a story of a German submarine landing an an island off the coast of New York or somewhere in the north east, but I don't know much more about what happened and I don't think they got farther anyway), was never truly invaded by a conventional military force or even guerrilla fighters. So, military supplies and equipment are often carried by civilian railroads anyway, often on uncovered cars.
And camouflaged locomotives may seem cool, but doesn't offer practical advantages, and wouldn't help against sabtours or other attacks on soft-skinned non-combat trains anyway.
SayNoTo Democide The U-boat was In maine, a number of ships were sunk filled with potatoes going out of searsport harbor.
Maine Railfan© Ah, thank you for the information!
Where'd you get the CSX AC6000CW?
The Civil War locomotive is one of my favorite in the game trainz

I don't know why, but this is reminding me of your other video (A Mainline Before and After) since it's going down through time

3:05 Chessie System VS Amtrak
On the Vietnam War
There’s seems to be some rolling stock that is out of place like the bnsf hopper in the 1990-91 part at around 5:30 and beforehand a hopper showing up building America just some little things otherwise great job
2:03 WWII started in the year 1939 and ended in the yaer 1945, not 1941. 1941 was when the United States of America joined the war.
@JEROD OWEN My point is that the video states the war ended in 1941. Please read the comment again.
During desert storm my dad was in the marine corps in Japan
0:19 Yankee Doodle was from the American Revolution, not the Civil War. The music you are seeking for this time period is "Marching through Georgia".
Or the Union version of the Confederate anthem "Dixieland" which was "Away down south to Dixie" i think
AA THE NOSTALGIAAAAA
you should do a main line before and now on a c&nw line

3:17 anyone notice a weird Chessie System?
3:16 Yeah the third locomotive was a GP9. While most of the early GP units had high hoods, there were also some with low hoods like this one.
@@T128Productions turns out i was stupid 3 years ago but than you for this information
This is a great video, but the only problem is that F40PHs didn’t exist in 1975,The first ones were built in 1976,And the 2nd-3rd and the 5th trains don’t have Cabooses, and you forgot about the Cold War and the fact that AC4400CWs didn’t exist in 1991,they were built in 1995. But still, this is one awsome video and I hope you can do more of these kinds of videos soon.
What are the songs?
Where did he get that Chessie gp9 rebuild at 3:17
Jointed Rail. Where else?
Where did you get the horn on that E8A @2:50 and where did you get the E8A and F7 themselves?
The horn is from the f7's I think. The engines are from US locomotive works. But the website is now down.
Found it LOL
Good
Nice music
Great Scott is that the Rolling stones?
i like the 1930's or 40's music
