Wraith was - and still is - my favorite monster in terms of design. I love all the monsters' designs, they each have something that makes them stand out, like Kraken's ability to fly because of electrostatic forces in his tentacles that pull him up, how Behemoth's guts and heart are hanging down, which is why he moves mainly by curling up into a ball, and Gorgon's spider-human chimera look. But they all *kinda* make sense biologically. Wraith is different. Due to some kind of dark magic, she never touches the ground - and as a result her feet became tentacles, but she still has her knees. She warps around. She eats prey by sucking it into whatever black hole she happens to have in her skull. She is nothing like anything that would be expected from a living, breathing, organic creature - and that makes her truly alien. Edit: Also, the fact that she has no eyes. All the other monsters have eyes, but she has not. That would make sense for a creature living somewhere in darkness, like caves or the deep sea - but there's nothing to suggest that Wraith lives in such an environment. She's an enigma all-throughout

I honestly hope this channel blows up so people can remember Evolve for it being a fun game and not the mess that people were saying it became, while i didn't play when the game became bad, I remember the days of playing as Wraith and just having no idea how to play... but i didn't care the game was endless fun, thank you for reminding me of this gem of a game.
@@lNeml honestly if they brought it back and simply just did literally nothing more but make servers for it and perhaps maybe encourage a little bit of an Esports scene then honestly it would fucking do so damn good man... when you really think about how it initially died it was purely because it basically was essentially like they got lazy and tired and just stopped making content with any amount of actual care for the game and then they just decided out of the blue that they weren't going to keep up the servers. Everyone still kept on playing because everyone loved the game...
Really Hope some devs pick up the idea of Evolve and we finally get a Evolve-like Game that gets his well earned Praise... Evolve was ahead of its time... maybe it released to soon but to pull support this harsh and fast was dumb

I remember always trying training myself to aim Abduction. Would sneak around a lot, hit a hunter with a very long range Abduction, smack them around a bit and hit Decoy the moment the other members get close.
As an old wraith main, this gave me memories I lost years ago. I played more stealthy though, and don't skill Abduct at all. I get two points into Decoy and one into the explosive charge so I can bait out domes. I also get the faster sneaking movement so I can double back after intentionally leaving fake tracks in a certain direction. This buys me about 5 minutes, which is a sure fire level 3. I just decoy again if I need to get out. Level 3 I just win since I have everything I need to manfight while using decoy to run and refuel on armor if needed or make them waste their strong abilities.
ive never seen this game before an now want to play it. ive done a bit of research and am sad to find that people who didnt own the game previously wont be able to play it unless it becomes listed again, and the only way that happens is if it gains popularity. best of luck to everyone making vidoes on the game, hopefully it will come back
i think if you dont own it you can get a steam key off of g2a. im not sure if it works or not though since i already have the game. but if theres somewhere to start to figure out if u can still buy it, it would be off of g2a

Evolve had some of the most fun gameplay I had ever experienced back during its beginning. There was nothing more satisfying than playing as a Wraith and destroying a group of Hunters because they didn't expect you to attack them at Level 1.

I never played evolve but I'm woking on a project and I'll be damned if I don't draw some inspiration from this! I can definitely see the need to play tactically. I have a personal fondness for class design like this BUT, The animation the sound profile. All of it. Also you're pretty damn good. Never played this, thought it was some new game that looked really cool, found out it's an old game that half died :( Probably more fun watching it than playing it though, everyone that would play it now would be too far ahead/good at it for newcomers to join :)
honestly the skill floor is pretty low, at least for hunters. you just follow the monster, dome it and try to kill. for the monster it is a bit tough, but the biggest thing to learn is just get a down while mostly only losing your armor and then escaping. make it to stage 3 and keep downing a player then regaining armor. rinse and repeat. obviously this is super simplified but its a fun game and it isnt that hard to learn.

I’ve never played this game But this seems severely unfair for the one playing monster, you win because you obviously are very good. But, seeing how the hunters can just full heal over and over while you can’t get back your red bar, it just seems really unbalanced. And if no one wanted to play monster because of this, I understand why it died
Monster gameplay is down to knowing what fights to take. Usually it goes Trapper, Support, Medic depending on who is on the team. This knowledge is usually gained after the first few games.
The key take-away from this video is to save a huge amount stardust, it sucks those kids couldn’t afford the trade but they’ll definitely have enough next time!
Several reasons if I recall... One being hunters only can be downed a few times before they are instantly dead and need to respawn. Two, it's a lot easier to be left alone to eat/evolve if a trapper is missing. And three, if you down/kill a hunter you get a big boost in your evolve meter. It has been a long while since I played but I believe those are the benefits.

use decoy also while in shroud, decoy will also get the effect and you basically do double damage... looked a bit sad to see you were always shrouding whithout ur decoy

It's possible to play this version of the game? I was pushed out of playing with all the free location reveals. I couldn't do a thing before "monster is revealed for you" when I finally got to play this.
The devs sold the game at 60 bucks and it didnt have the content upon day 1 to deem it to be a full priced premium game. Was still good but should of had a price cut. Then they monetized the crap out of the game. Example....selling monster for 10 dollars. A season pass that gave no where near its price. People saw the signs early and it became a wasteland of only the people who tossed a lot of money into it. Sad because it was a very fun game.
Its officially dead. The servers went down last year. Anyone who still has all the monsters has no idea how lucky they are. I used to have them all but somehow lost them. Wraith was always the toughest for me, behemoth was the best, gorgon was the funnest but with void kraken I was unstoppable.

What I never understood is, unless you get trapped in dome, why not wait to get lvl 3 to fight? You get much better chances overall.

Original Evolve is still only organised peer 2 peer, you can now find people publicly on Stage 2 Arcade though.

I haven't seen this game before but based on the comments it failed, I'm wondering why? The game looks cool!
The devs sold the game at 60 bucks and it didnt have the content upon day 1 to deem it to be a full priced premium game. Was still good but should of had a price cut. Then they monetized the crap out of the game. Example....selling monster for 10 dollars. A season pass that gave no where near its price. People saw the signs early and it became a wasteland of only the people who tossed a lot of money into it. Sad because it was a very fun game.
It got badly mismanaged by 2k.
I watch these gameplay videos and I am STILL confused as to why people did not enjoy this game

Its officially dead. The servers went down last year. Anyone who still has all the monsters has no idea how lucky they are. I used to have them all but somehow lost them. Wraith was always the toughest for me, behemoth was the best, gorgon was the funnest but with void kraken I was unstoppable.
I'm one of them. Check the channel for daily videos of all monsters.
