Stitch with Me 2023 - Prompt No.1 January | Slow Stitching Workshop
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- Today's video is the first prompt in the Stitch With Me 2023 Slow Stitching Workshop.
Today's prompt is "ANEW". Use this theme as your springboard for creating a small fabric piece to add to your card for the book.
Use fabric, threads, beads, found objects to create your slow stitched piece. When complete, attach it to your card with either adhesive or a few stitches.
Set aside your finished piece and at the end of the year, I'll show how to attach the pages to the book.
Each month, early in the month, I'll release new prompts from January through December 2023.

Thank you so much!❤️❤️❤️
Didn’t want to go and buy index cards- trying to use what I have. Came across some small note cards that were popular a few years ago. Had excitedly 12 different ones. Plan to cut them down to the size of the smallest card - this way there will be something pretty on both sides. I’ll figure out the binding the end
Good idea!
i am following even thought i can t stitch .. arthristis in my thumb
Oh, sorry to hear that you are unable to stitch. Hope these videos bring you some comfort and inspiration.
Depending on how bad it is (cutting might also be hard on your thumb) maybe you could still create some fabric collages using glue? Add a couple of decorative stitches if you're able, or simply glue on embellishments using an appropriate glue depending on whether they're fabric (ribbon, patches, applique) or plastic/metal (sequins, beads and so on).
Yours turned out so pretty. I'm glad to have some time to think about what I want to do. Another challenge I'm doing is every day in January. This one seems much more relaxed! Love it! Thanks, Daniela! ❤
Fantastic! Good luck with your Everyday in January challenge!
Thanks, Daniela! ❤
Do you have any suggestions where to get random fabric?
I'm working on a video for that topic! Stay tuned. 😊
In addition to the "ends" bins at the fabric store, I was happy to find out that they'd cut fairly small pieces of fabric - I think 10 cm was the smallest? So pieces of fabric, esp if already on sale, can be bought for just a couple of dollars, and would give you enough material for multiple projects (or to share?) I also picked up some fabric items at the thrift store recently. Depending on prices at your store, this can be pricier and leave you with a lot more wasted material! But pillowcases and placemats are a decent price for the size (sheets, tablecloths, curtains, shawls are other good options but obviously bigger and cost more). I got a couple of things that can easily be cut apart, like her flowers. And I'm thinking I can use the open end of the pillowcases to cut scraps from, and hopefully, I can turn the closed ends into fabric gift bags!
Howdy, Daniela! Thank you for sharing your collab for '23. Love your first page. I think the crocheted flowers and the pop of color are my fav parts. Blessings & Bubbles...oooOOO
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it.
