This scene hits home so much sometimes it’s right in front of you and you can’t see it 😢😢
Fantastic portrayal of depression and suicidal thoughts during the scene where he is sat in the bar and everyones talking around him but hes completely zoned out, that feeling, its so hard to describe when your that low.
I honestly feel bad for Eva as she thinks Aidan wants to get back together because he told her he loved her and gave her the ring. 😭 Aidan was my favourite. 😭😭😭😭

He was in far more than just half a scene this was just one of many that he was in were referring to a lot more than just the fact he cried his whole performance throughout this storyline was just beauitfully done especially considering he initially started off as a singer he is one genius actor how he handled this whole storyline was phenomenal

This entire scene is acted and timed to perfection. I'm not usually hit by soap storylines, but this is an incredible performance with a powerful message. I also think the fact that you don't know how means you're not distracted from the message, hats off to you Corrie, Shane and Catherine.

These scenes did actually have the power to reduce people to tears. Knew what was coming but not how it was going to be. It was incredibly painful to watch.

I can’t believe how much this episode affected me. I just burst out crying at the final scenes when I first saw them last night. Even today I found myself ruminating on it and becoming upset. And I am not the type to be engrossed or emotionally invested in TV shows. Such an important storyline, but just ever-so heartbreaking. Shayne, Eva, and Kate Oates really knocked it out of the park with this one. An episode that will stick with me for a very long time.

Awwwww man this made me cry so much!! i loved Aidan and just seeing him like this breaks my heart and what break my heart more is when he gave his subtle goodbyes to everyone and it was so sad! the aftermath of his death will be so heartbreaking as well!!!

Depression is one hell of a battlefield, sad to see aidan GO but true respect to the story and very relevant to today's life; so much respect for this decision of awareness and details shown and not shown to help others x
This goes to show that anyone can go through mental illness. As someone who has been through mental illness, it’s hard but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, Men don’t talk about it because they get seen as weak but honesty they aren’t.
Please talk to someone. It took me years to speak up and now I’m getting the help I need for my depression and anxiety.

when i watched this i burst out into tears. This also has helped me to talk to people as in the past i have had suicide thoughts. Great acting and i hope this helps other people with horrible thoughts and actions like these to talk to someone. You're not allown. Also note if your friend or someone you know looks sad try cheer them up they may be with a group of people and still feel allown. If any scenes upset you go to a website or speak to someone about it. It'll help belive me. If any children/teenagers have been affected by this always go talk to childline at 08001111 were no calls will be traced or talked about to anyone you dont want to know about it. Always talk to an adult about things. xxx

They done this very well bang on. I’m suffering from severe depression and what they did seemed like what I’m going through. The bit were your with people and it suddenly goes like blank like no one is there you just wanna cry. You don’t then you go home and bang when your alone you burst out in sheer pain crying. This happened to me and was so close this hit me hard
Chris Abbott Don't give up. Hang on and you'll see that things will get better. I've been through depression and it's like a dark cloud hanging over you blocking out hope that things will improve. I try to think positively and try not to worry about things I cannot control. It's not easy but doable. Take care.
noonoofulable depend certain people depression are for different reasons. I realised that I never ever suffered from depression and use to laugh and say how can anyone be depressed. But as this storyline says you don’t know people situations. I’ll keep fighting but I realised like people like Chester sometimes the pain is too much and you only see one way out. People might say that selfish but you just want the pain to stop just want it to stop

Alex Bedford He posted a letter during an episode at the end of January - it was a blink and you'd miss it scene. The same episode, he found out that Carla needed a kidney transplant. The next episode (shown at the beginning of February) he's hanging around outside Johnny's flat waiting for the postman. He takes the post and hides a letter obviously meant for his father (not Carla) The thought is that was a suicide note he posted but decided to help Carla so decided not to go through with it then. If you look up @lovechrisandali on Twitter, they posted the clips back in March 🙂

I feel the exact same right now. I've tried to get help but there is nothing out there. I see no future or positivity in my life. I hate who I am and I really don't want to be here anymore. I cry everyday and my cries are never heard. I'm so broken 😥
I was in the same position for years, and I never understood when people said that cliche 'it'll get better'. But I decided to have an aim for my life, no matter how small, and focus not on the depression but on that. Then everything fell into place over time and got better. Trust me, I was near my deathbed at one point, so I know firsthand that it does get better :) all the best

That’s like me but I just live through it as I have so much to live for (people tell me) and I would feel bad for my family and friends. So think about it, you commit suicide, your family and friends feel depressed and then they commit suicide like it’s a selfish decision. I used to self harm and have scars but I just now get used to the fact I need to stop listening to people hating and look to the future not the past and pretend I’m the only one who can criticise my self

It was a sad scene but that’s all I got from it “bit sad this” it was only when I looked on Twitter I saw that he takes his own life. From the ep how are they meant to portray this. It might just be me but I really didn’t get the message that he was about to take his own life. Please help me understand
Marcus Moore You get the message when his body is found during the next episode but if you have been following the storyline, there have been lots of subtle signs that Aiden was going to take his own life - he's been giving things away, doing nice things for people, not unpacked at his flat, saying his goodbyes and generally making his peace with the world. But it's a soap shown at 7.30pm - they're not going to show him hanging himself or anything else equally as graphic. There are strict guidelines on how to portray a suicide on TV and Coronation Street worked closely with both The Samaritans and CALM to ensure it was done just right 🙂

Where I was confused is how people knew/presumed he had taken his own life right after the episode ended (and before the following one where his body was found)

Tina Payne Sometimes people don't have anyone to speak too. This sucks but is true and at times family already has problems and then it's hard talking about it. Imagine telling your parents it is just as bad as they hear you saying this and it's just to much stress.
I have four children of my own and suffer with depression from experience try and speak .. Speak to me I will listen to anyone speak to a stranger speak to someone coming on here is first step and sometimes it does help to talk and if this is not enough can find other avenues please talk to me

I can't begin to describe how my own depression has affected me and some of those around me . (Many friends did not care and they can get fucked.) It's been a wave of anxiety and despair and it's left me on meds and somewhat overweight and generally alone. I keep having brief times where it's better. But this one image stands in my head of suicide and I hope and pray it doesn't go that way. For anyone reading I'm Irish and there is no real support here with mental health .it's ridiculous suicide is killing too many

The thing that really pisses me off is when at the end of these programs they say "Check our website for help if you have been affected by Aidan's story". Their is no real help? Government has slashed mental health services, getting in is a bladdy mind game on it's own and now they are causing death's with the Personal Independence Payments.
