The Gaithers and the groups from the trios to the development of the GVBs have been a source of encouragement throughout my 55 years of life in Fiji. From the time of my parents bitter divorce when I was 5 to the passing away of my wife in 2008....this is one group that you will always hear playing on my stereo at home or fone. Mum had me listening to Norman Lubof choir as early as 1968 on records. She was a music lecturer. Dad was a lot of things unofficially. But they both had a love for good music. Vinaka vakalevu. Thank you.
I love the sweet sweet sound of this group. What I especially love is the sweet easy blend of voices of each of them. I am blessed by their harmony. Special to me are the tenors. Each has a powerful voice, but they control that power and blend into the sounds so that neither voice overpowers the group. I love how they support each other with such Grace. What a blessing. I’ll be present in person to hear them next week. I can hardly wait! 🥰
