Great quote by quesney there. Marx stresses this inconsistency of values in examination of mercantilist James Steuart in first chapter of theories of surplus value. A prelude for mass and rate of profit in part 3 of Vol. 3, ending with the resolution of the conflict between cheaper production and cheaper goods with economy of scale (not only example of the law, but one of them).

pardon my clunky sentences, I don't write often enough to be eloquent, lol. Thank the architect of the matrix for spellcheck! And you for the videos, of course ;)

It's funny how with worker comp laws business tries to lower full time to half time to avoid benefits, whereas naturally they would want to maximize exploitation. This viscous exploitation is mainly done to immigrants (sikh farm workers in Italy, Latinos in USA) and foreigner periphery countries. In lighter fashion, we have the example of adjunct professors. Debt and rent preserve and increase social labor (though not necessarily done in a given job, over multiple jobs) in the context of modern over-productive society. Weekend work beating tradition holidays and sabbath in very religious USA an example of drive to increase use of capital.
