Bio: Wajahat S. Khan is an Emmy-nominated journalist and author reporting on Indo-Pacific security and focusing on the Af-Pak conflict. An Adjunct Professor at New York University’s Center of Global Affairs and non-resident Senior Fellow at Washington’s Atlantic Council, Khan is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Journalism and the University of Michigan, as well as Pakistan’s only Shorenstein Fellow for Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has reported from 16 countries covering conflict, diplomacy, and media for digital, cable and network news. Michael reflects the official position. USA supported the regime change and will continue to do so for Geopilitical reasons. Supression of human rights bad in China but it can be acceptable in Pakistan. Nevetheless the Pakistanis in USA should keep up their effort.
I actually thought that Michael attempted to discourage Pakistani expats from campaigning the congress. This advice is misguided. Pakistani Americans need to dial up the pressure on US congress. Look was the Arab community is doing in Michigan against the Biden regime. Let’s keep going people and do not relent.

US and one of it’s most potent tools IMF would of course support dictatorship in Pakistan (as they always have done) by accepting an undemocratic/dictated government in Pakistan. US is the one toppled democracy in Pakistan (yet again) less than 2 years ago.

Going to correct Michael where he stated “some seats are stolen”. Not some, but a lot of PTI seats are stolen. Apart from pre-poll rigging, there’s been ongoing post poll rigging as well. Would also thank Wajahat to point out the double standards of IMF (Venezuela vs Pakistan) and how Mike chose to respond to that. All Michael essentially stated was that IMF deals with different governments differently, which indirectly means IMF IS in fact biased and does have double standards. Why though? Why and how is that okay? And why is that fair? And why was it mentioned in such a nonchalant way?
So, after listening to the whole story, one can safely say that America has stopped thinking.

Michael comments well respected and logical as to how US thinks about elections. However, the biggest issue is that Pakistanis have been tortured, humiliated, hunted down and women put in jails at the behest of few people supported by the US. Pakistanis will never forget this and subsequent Govts will be more and more unpopular and military will soon will get bogged down inside the country and more space will be taken over by extremists of all stripes. Country needs healing but unfortunately nobody can see this outside of Pakistan, specially the US. We can never be another Egypt, another Iran maybe but another Afghanistan more likely as the state structure collapses.
Shouldn't the "assi bhi musalman, tussi bhi musalman, ab paisa or tel lao" Saudi/UAE/Turkieyeeyyeyey come to the aid, after all Pak is the ummat ka leader

It's quite strange that after all these years Pakistanis still place faith in the United States.
Even more so given the fact that the US Govt is doing much the same to Trump as has been done to Imran Khan . Of course, there is the difference in degrees of manifestation, but the intent and the desire to subvert first principles can be easily similized.

Quite an interesting conversation it was with Mr. Micheal, who is very particular about his language and terminologies. What is happening in Pakistan is very concerning for everyone except the IMF and the US government. The hypocrisy is at its peak. However, I am afraid soon, there will be an anti-American movement in Pakistan, and military establishments will use violence as their only option to keep the "order" intact. As rightly pointed out by the guest, there has been less interest in the US government in Pakistan recently since the Afghanistan issue has been slightly downgraded into US books. Soon, the only lifeline of Pakistan's military establishment will be over, and they will left alone with the public. I sincerely hope things will resolve and sense will prevail before any such situation appears in Pakistan.
