Yes they do it said she applied the pencil to numbed lips so we just didn't see that part

I do tattoos and I've done lips and strechmarks. I prefer a small magnum for a more blended and consistent look on the lips. Using a small 1rl, 3rl gives you lines. It's like coloring with a very sharp pencil or a wide marker. The wide marker is going to give you better and more consistent coverage than a smaller sharp pencil. Just my 2 cents.
It can be done with a 1RL with patience and good technique can also look just as beautiful! My instructor was amazing! But I don’t disagree with you at all! Can be much easier! I’m looking into getting a new machine with different size cartridges myself to try something new!
I agree with your comment Shane about using a 1rl. I am also a tattoo artist and I have been doing permanent makeup for 29 years. I am one of the original pioneers in the permanent makeup industry back in the 1990s. For lip liner, I use either a 5rl or 7rl. Lip shading I use a 13 Mag 2-stack. I use a 8-wrap coil machine so the needles I believe are grouped tighter giving a littler thinner line than the same sizes for cartridges used for rotary machines.
.so.. you apply directly rather than take something else to apply? is she buying those lipstic or you'll use the same applier with other people...?
I thought when you use the lipstick on client use the disposable applicator but she use direct from the lipstick.
I would hope that she either disposed of the lipstick or gave it to the client after this. I know some makeup artists do this. I imagine she used the applicator that goes with the lipstick on the client for the purpose of showing the specs of the product and it's application with it's proper applicator to try to boost sales. I believe they ideally want a client to purchase at least a couple shades to test drive before committing to a color for the actual lip blushing.
This is all for a video promotion so I’m sure they want it to look nice. Maybe she has single use applicators. This is an expensive procedure soo…

I'm sure she gave the client the lipgloss afterwards. Always use a disposable lip applicator when trying it on clients.

Do you have a neutralizer for dark pigmented lips?
From what I've read the artists who do darker lips use an orange tinted shade to neutralize before using the chosen color but I don't know if this particular artist does

As long as you have lips I don't see why you couldn't but your best bet is to reach out to a local artist and talk to them! I hope it works out for you ♥️
Is this painful and for how long does it last
It's not painful at all cuz they apply a numbing cream before the procedure. And it stays for one year. For so many people it stays for few additional months too after the one year period is over.

I had mine done recently and in all honesty it was not worth the money or the pain. Lip outlining was ok but the blushing part - lip colouring itself- did not take to well.

The blush techink is not intens color. If you wan to have intens color you have to do real micropigmentacion. 💋
