Class of 77. I remember the portables on the top of the hill -- 1000 building. When I started school there as a freshman, there weren't many portables down below. No portables between the 200 and 300 buildings or on the lawn in front of the 400 building. My the time I graduated in 77 all those areas were filled in with portables.
And now, it's all just memory. The school was completely demolished so a new one could be built. I knew it was about to happen, that's why I made this video before it was too late. By the time I graduated from high school in '86, the portables that were up the stairs were moved because of a mudslide. They put them right on top of the tennis courts. As I made this video I couldn't help but to think that 30 years ago when I was in high school, I would have needed a camcorder on my shoulder to film the school, and now I did the same exact thing with a tiny little handheld device that also serves as a portable telephone. The future is here.
55scuba You're very welcome. Since the old Pinole Valley High School no longer exists, this footage is now extremely rare. Probably the only time capsule of its kind.
After graduation I moved to Napa then Phoenix Az. I work for BNSF Railway and my daughter is graduating from Grand Canyon University in April and my wife and I are planning to move to Texas .
@@doriancroatia2054 Some areas were a little more run down and other areas looked nearly the same. The school you see in this video is now demolished and a newer more modern school is built in its place.
1975 Graduate!!!! Yes, Green day graduated from PVHS !!!! I remember climbing those stairs for Ecology class in 1975. Really? The library has a turnstile at the door? We didn't have that. Loved the Mall in the middle of the school. We always wanted to plug the drains and make it a pool. *LOL* Hot cinnamon rolls in the cafeteria! And the plays there and also Driver's Ed there! Right next to the cafeteria is where I had drama with Mr. Clark. Spent a lot time in the office getting sent down to see Miss Naron! haahahaha And the wonderful Gym where we had all our dances!
Donna Hansen One year the mall was in fact flooded as a prank. There were even fish an aquatic birds! Made front page of the West County Times back in 1986. It happened about a week before summer vacation.
