No. You can't run windows on an Android device. You can flash different things called ROMs and different kernels. But not completely different operating systems apart from maybe Ubuntu because they're running the same basic Linux kernel.

I unlocked the bootloader with no problem at all. have all the right drivers and I'm using toolkit version 1.5.2 and my build number is JR003D. every time I have tried to root it, it never finishes rooting it. I have waited up to 30 minutes for it to root and nothing. I have also reboot it manually and the only thing it installed was busybox. do you have any clue as to why this happened and how to fix this issue?
Help! I do the auto driver thing and it says im good to go. Then i unlocked it and it also said to continue with the root. But when i tried to root it just says fastboot device not found. HELp

i did it! It was so simple. I always get nervous when I'm rooting or jailbreaking devices.

yes, you can connect a micro usb to usb connector and plug your flash drive / hdd to it
u need to download stickmount from the play store tho.

You can do that without rooting the device, just get Nexus Media Importer from the Play Store. PS, External HDD have to be self powered.
