Taking the time to share and film some of the efforts that so many residents in Old Fort put into memorializing it's history is actually priceless. Think of how many visitors either don't have time or interest in visiting such displays. (I have been one of them over and over.) So sharing it on a public platform as you have done is appreciated by myself and hopefully many others. My brother and his late wife took over Catawba Falls Campground, just on the other side of the highway from where you were in Old Fort, many years ago from his in-laws. Recently it has been passed on to his daughter and family to carry on. Hopefully next time you both can enjoy a peaceful stay backed up to the lovely Catawba Falls river. Thank you again for sharing!
My wife and I have been through Old Fort several times on our way to Mt. Mitchell. Next time we will have to stop and take a tour thanks to your video! Thanks guys for another adventure!
When I was in elementary school we took a field trip to Old Fort to the fort. We rode a train from Brevard, NC to Old Fort. It was such a fun & memorable experience.
Glad you injoyed Old Fort NC it is to bad you did not stop and visit Davidson's Fort a quarter of a mile from the museum. Davidson's Fort is what gave the town it's name. Built in 1776 to protect the people of Old Fort from the Cherokee raids.
Loved seeing Old Fort as one of your visits. I grew up in Black Mountain. However you can't visit Old Fort without visiting the geyser. Maybe next time .

I think y’all should do a video in Valdese NC, there is a lot of old buildings and an old Rock School, and not far from Valdese isRutherfordCollege and they have JDs Barbecue which is a great place eat some good bbq
Not very far at all from us..I lived in Asheville in the early 90’s, so use to travel thru here quite often..but never visited the town. Definitely lots of history there. I’ll suggest to my hubby a day trip here soon..it’s long over due. Thanks again..God bless..

Love your video. I live in Old Fort North Carolina. Have lived here about 55years. Wonderful little town. There is also a bed and breakfast you might want to check out and of course Old Fort geyser and our pick Nick grounds located a few minutes outskirts of town. My hometown Asheville not bad far to Old Fort. My family and I always visit Old Fort through downtown and cute grocery store Frisbee’s and many times touch in Geyser so beautiful water fountain. Love it. 🫶🏻🥰

We've passed by Old Fort on our way to Lake Lure. I wish we had stopped. May have to make another trip.

You should come by and check out Forest City NC near Christmas. Town is lit up and bustling. Small town friendly is our motto

Old Fort and Gatlinburg are 2 hours 20 mins apart, if you drive non-stop. To many miles for a day trip but it would be a good side trip driving up.
