i got Tannoy Rev XT6 in this March, for playing with Accuphase D-430 and E-270. what made me decide to get the XT6 is actual listening its sound at an audio shop together with E-260 and Denon DCD-SX1. XT6 has earned not so good reputation so far in Japan, while, i know, it has a remarkable popularity in Europe with some prize winning. at the very first time after having set up XT6 together with D-430 and E-270 in my living room, because this is the second system dedicated to my wife a music lover, during an audio check by using some reference CDs, i found the sound is somewhat less stereoscopic like a picture taken by a poor built-in camera on mobile phone. then i changed the original power cable of DP-430, and E-270 both at last, to APL-1, which made a good stereoscopic sound stage like a picture with a better focal depth taken by a single-lens reflex camera. however somewhat hoarse voice still remained in some female vocals, as if they would commit too much singing in a Karaoke box. then i replaced the original line cable between DP-430 and E-270 with ASL-10, which brought a dramatic change of charming voice. but i'm little bit afraid whether it could be "fatty meat" after the aging completion of the speaker units, if it should be so, i will replace back it to the original one, AL-10 equivalent provably. XT6 and E-270 connection was made by Luxman's JPS-100, 3m long, single-wired. it would be better for using bi-wiring though, i'm awfully satisfied it now, i would like to keep the system untouched until it shows stability. i consequently saying, Tannoy Rev XT6 is quite sensitive to the combined audio devices and it has a mirror potential to directly reflect the combined device' grade. i believe the speaker will surely become more charming after aging. i love it.
