Set looks interesting. I also liked the dialogue and the reference to the Void Speaker's Adventure.
For those who think this set's abilities were copied from Mortal kombat (Sub-zero), you're wrong because ICE energy is one of the twelve energies in the void, and this character uses ICE abilities as compared to normal characters using SHADOW energy.
My recommendation sets for this boss is set that can deal crit damage easily or high shadow damage. DoTE, cotp, lynx, cotv (maybe). But im not recommend judge cz he needs to hit 3x to get shadow energy. To fight in last round is use your shadow move to deplet his ice shield. Thats why i recommend lynx cz he gets energy anytime and it stacks to higher damage
I love and hate at the same time how event, journey and regular bosses (Shadow, KotL, Maze Shard, Ishtar, Shadow Mind, etc.) are harder and have more unique abilities than the final boss.
Here's some advice.
At the beginning of each round, Maze WILL use his snowball attack with a normal ranged attack following up. Always roll forward or back to dodge and deal first hit on him.
Shadow energy sets are recomended, but there are other sets that can beat Maze with their own playstyles. Here are my top 4 picks.
1. LYNX
Passive shadow evergy regeneration with stackable DMG buff after each shadow move. The trick is to constantly dodge Maze's snowball attack and use BLINK as much as possible to stack up DMG until he eventually becomes unbreakable on the 3rd round. With enough DMG buffs, you can fully deplete Maze of his ice with 2-3 well timed shadow moves. (Toying with Prey is not recomended due to it's long windup)
2. Judge
Judge can easily defeat Maze on the first 2 rounds as he is not unbreakable yet. Corner trap is what the Judge is known for since he can infinitely corner trap Maze with fling. (Fling hits 3 times thus giving Judge 1 shadow move.)
3. Specialist (Azuma)
The set has permanent shadow energy as long as you don't use it all, you can interrupt Maze's attacks and counter it with his high CRIT MULTIPLIER. (Having perks that boosts CRIT DMG and lower CRIT COOLDOWN is recomended.)
4. Authority (I forgo set's name 💀)
This set is a event set that can deal guaranteed CRITS with 2 speacial moves. (1 weapon and armor.) Chop til Drop and (I forgo this name but it stuns the enemy as you pick them up and slam them back to the ground.). Chop til Drop has a small attack range so it will be a gamble to get up close to Maze, but the CRITS will help you through the first 2 rounds, as the move only does an guaranteed CRIT on its 3 strike after connecting its 1st. The kick move will do 2 guaranteed CRITS upon connecting with an enemy. The 2 second CRIT will follow up after you slam the enemy to the ground as the CRIT would have cooled down by then. The kick would be usefull in the 3rd round as the first hit is CRIT guaranteed.

Is it ok to use the warmonger set? U can definitely tank a whole combo of him while your shadow energy keeps on recharging and you will be able to tank the whole damage till you break his shield
@@khangphuc2962 Thats another decent set. I'm only speaking about the ones that Ive used so far. But the Warmonger set will get you through quite well if you don't get constantly comboed by Maze.
@@davidchen6928 I mean like there is no way he can ice combo you for more than 3 times in a row and he definitely use weapon attack as well which the warmonger is immune to. So that is when you can spam your cyclone special move and counter him
@@khangphuc2962 There also comes a pretty small problem. It only starts when you reach round 3. You don't deal much damage to Maze but you meed that shadow form tonlast until you break his Ice. You'll need to quickly plan out on how much you need to be hitbwithout losing too much hp as he does have moves that will make you more vunerable.
