"Blame Hofmann" refers to Swiss Chemist Albert Hofmann, who discovering LSD. Rosetta Stoned is a description to the doctor of his trip/alien visit/chosen savoir assignment. "Shit the bed" is a slang term meaning "made a big mistake" and he said that the big mistake he made was forgetting his pen so he forgot the message the aliens had given him to pass on to mankind. Obviously, it's a drug trip imagining being contacted by aliens with an important message that would make the narrator of the story "a hero".
I take that one as literal since the patient is still strapped down and hasn't come down all the way yet. But the double entendre is on point. But Stinkfist is definitely ✊🏼. 😆
