When they played it back for her they told her it sounded like an echo. Every since then she has mastered echoing her own voice. It's her signature now. For at least the last 30years.

KCS's echo is recorded on an album of hers from the early 2000s. I remember buying the album at a record store in Princeton, NJ, at the time. I had to pull the car over on the way back to the Philly area when she started doing the echo. Took me out. :)

If you don’t really know the history and the music well, maybe you shouldn’t be doing the commentary, you say a hundred times “thats tough!” But it’s not that it’s tough, it’s inspired, it’s musically outside the box…. Etc etc Karen is famous since the early 2000’s for doing that echo. Originally on the live version of He Loves Me that she did with her daughter. There’s even a recording where a tech put echo on her mic and she said “take it off I’ll do it myself” Anyway…… not sure you accomplished much here. This is such a weird comment. Just because he’s new to the Clark sisters doesn’t mean he can’t show appreciation. His saying ‘it’s tough’ isn’t an insult. He doesn’t have to use the same words you’d use. Lol.
Another good versions of this song is the Xscape cover of this on their debut album. Total Praise by Richard Smallwood even if just the snippet of it Destiny's Child "Gospel Medley" is a must listen. The interwoven Amens will take your breath away.
