This was the first tcg set I ever found out about and it's still my absolute favorite. Not only are the cards good but it has a amazing variety of Pokemon and has some of the best artwork in my opinion.
Ah jeez, I hope this isnt the last complete history. I honestly havent picked up pokemon cards since I was a kid. I think the set with the original sneasel was the last set I open, and even then I barely knew how to play. But I never stopped playing the video games. I stumbled across your UA-cam series, watched it out of nostalgia, but then found myself captivated by your analysis. It's incredibly detailed, but accessible for someone who barely knows the mechanics of the card game, but enough about pokemon to get by. When you dabble in the subjective, projecting power level of a specific card, I feel confident in your judgement by your thorough analysis, at least it seems thorough from an outsider. You let viewers know when your biased, and if that bias influences you judgement in anyway. (Phanpy and excadrill come to mind.) And that helps with your credibility. All of this is to say, the last two sundays ive been looking forward to next installment in the series, and it appears to be on hiatus. I understand it may not be getting the amount of attention needed to maintain a UA-cam series, so I hope this helps encourage others to watch, or for the creator to possible make a few more. Great work!
I CAN'T BELIEVE ITS HERE! With all the extra news that has been around, I was worried that you wouldn't get around to making this weeks video. Thanks so much Ross! Im so excited to be watching this video and look forward to next weeks already. One of the few things that makes me a genuinely happy panda ❤❤❤
Lots of news but not enough to last through Sunday ;) Unfortunately next week we won't be getting a History video (most likely). New set leaks on Friday and that'll keep me busy through the weekend.
First 'chase' card I ever pulled from a pack was Honchcrow Lv.X. Pulled it from my first ever tin, featuring that Mewtwo Lv.X. Still remember opening it, sat in the back of a light blue 2006 Corsa, at night (Winter sometime) on the way home from somewhere.
You forgot the theme deck coins this time, but Powerhouse had a gold Munchlax coin and Lavaflow had a silver Munchlax coin. It's also nice to learn Cosmic Eclipse Weavile wasn't the first Weavile that was [W] but used [D] Energy. A lot of these mons are really inspired w/ their abilities and attacks. They've been reprinting and revamping certain abilities and attacks over and over again that they've gotten stale, but there are still so many that I'm seeing for the first time and can only wish would come back.
I still remember being in the semi finals of a state championship that year with my magdoll deck and had to play against Jason k using his gardi/gallade. That man has incredible luck(and well built decks). I managed to take game 1 and got him down to just gardi with no energies on it in game 2 while I have just my magmortar out but fully loaded & full hp. He manages to top deck the lv x and had the DRE to attack for the auto kill. Since it can't hit itself it got the KO and we went into game 3. Still one of the best top deck moments I've ever encountered.
Man, Gardevoir is just one of those Pokemon that never gets a bad card. So many good Gardevoir in one format that I'm surprised no one used any of the old ones as techs
I got some cards before ever playing the main game, and the card from this set started my love for Ampharos and Donphan as some of my favourite Johto Pokemon
Gerdevoir's Psychic Lock only shuts off Poké-Powers and not Poké-Bodies and at this time they were actually separate and therefore in order to shut off both it had to list both
I noticed youtube stopped putting these in my recomended sometime after you started the Gen 3 series. I was watching through what I missed and heard you mention views were dropping. I have to imagine youtube's algorithm is to blame.
In the next set is coming the best card we ever had. CLAYDOL is coming
The next 7 sets are all proper-job awesome! From Great Encounters to Rising Rivals they're all genuinely brilliant sets!

Great video mate I've been doing some pokemon TGC card openings and back into collecting

Always a highlight to my Sunday to see these! Thanks Ross
Love this series! Keep it up :)
We are slowly getting to the b&w era of the tcg. I loved it so much :)

Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
Jsi borec. Mám moc rád tvoji tvorbu.
Love this series!!
You were the 1st
I got some cards before ever playing the main game, and the card from this set started my love for Ampharos and Donphan as some of my favourite Johto Pokemon
Did I say that Donphan was on the previous theme deck? It was on the Electivire Theme Deck.
Magmortar was also alright. It saw some play with Togekiss from Great Encounters and Leafeon LV X.
Super interesting backstory for this set. I was wondering why only 2 lv Xs were included. Thanks for this series!
Gerdevoir's Psychic Lock only shuts off Poké-Powers and not Poké-Bodies and at this time they were actually separate and therefore in order to shut off both it had to list both
Love love love this series
Nice video! Also today I watched episode 53 of your podcast and I am wondering: are you still teaching?
Ohhh, I still have soo many cards from this set that I got as a child
Impressive vídeo.

Cool!
I know I’m being too picky... but dusclops is the one that evolves with a reaper cloth, not duskull
I feel like every other set there’s a broken Gardevoir card in it haha
I think Gardevoir might be the best Pokémon ever in the TCG!
Lava flow was my first structure deck
If we had this gardevoir today, do u think we could use it with lt surge to completely rip hands or energy?
I see any pokemon cards anyone left out I put in my pocket and walk away . Pocket the monsters baby yeahhh
So there r 683 views but only 13 comments?
Make a custom card of pikachu in a darth vader helmet ...youngans
vivid voltage hype
Meanwhile primeape been trash since season 1😒 yet is some how the best fighting Pokémon who would of guessed
Many of those cards have been reprinted with other pokemon or effects or artworks. Same thing every year
