My Grandfather was killed two years ago in a farm machinery accident and he was probably the last person I would expect to be killed by a tractor considering he had been operating machinery 58 years of his life, it just goes to show that you can never be too careful
Eoghan Murphy I’m sorry for you loss my dad does farming to we have over 100 pieces of equipment and I tell him to be careful too and over 1000 head off cattle and sheeps and goats and I tell him to be careful around them too.
glad he made a recovery. We we get drummed in at college about health and safety. You think ah be alright it won't happen but it does and so happy to hear he walked away from it. thoughts with you guys.
I nearly lost my life like this very same situation. I was standing up and the door managed to open. I somehow managed to hold with my two hands on the door. The tractor had new tires at the time and my back got the corner of the tire. It was sore for weeks after wards.
Something similar happened to me, I was by the door and we were going about 20mp on the road and the tractor hit a pothole, it jumped up a bit then the door flung open and next think I knew was hanging on for my life, there was a car behind us so if I did fall out I would have died but I managed to pull my self back In the tractor. Never forget that day........
Don't let government dictate who can and cannot ride in a tractor. I'm sorry this happened but being in a tractor with their dad is an important experience and should never be dictated to you by anyone else. You and your wife can make that determination for your children. Accidents happen every day in every venue. Stop making kids terrified of doing anything in their world by suppressing the learning experience because something may or may not happen. You are all making your kids nervous depressed messes. Live your lives and stop looking to government to solve all your problems.
At first i thought he maybe went under the back wheel... thanks for this story, a lot of people wouldnt have been prepared to make the video and talk about it.
My friend passed away in August because of and accident because really big machinery was coming down a hill and the brakes did not work so him and a 17 year old boy ran he pushed the boy the other way and he went the other way then it started stalling and went they way he was going the shovel hit him in the chest area and then it ran him over😥 R.I.P. This video really made an impact. I just thought i should mention that we have a similar tractor to this one on our farm (the same tractor series as this one), and we have struggled a bit with a doorlock that pops open by itself, even if we dont even touch it. Could this have happened to this tractor? Another thing that should be mentioned is that whenever you have children as passengers, never have more passengers than there are seatbelts and seats, and always be sure they are wearing their seatbelts.
mine too those MF doorlocks sucks i was riding passenger in my tractor and the driver jerked the clutch and took off with high revs and i almost went out the door from the G forces but i was caught by the driver and caught myself in the open doorway
theese buggers are unstable on holes. i nearly did a backflip with a bale in the bucket when i grove down a 2 inch step in my shed but it came back down on its wheels violently. it scared the shit out of me
Wallace is my second cousin ! , My uncle (Wallace's cousin ) Roy Gregg , lost his foot in a feeder wagon , it was blocked and he climbed in and kicked it and took his foot , happend on a farm outside cullybackey
I remember one day when I was younger I was riding with my father while plowing. This was hard hard dirt in a field that cows walked on all winter. We were using a three bottom plow on a 80 hp tractor. Driving good until we hit I think a big ass rock. I would have hit the loader frame if my dad hadn’t grabbed me fast. I was a in away from hitting that frame
We all knew how old we had to be before our Parents allowed us to be on the Tractors ,One seat only . I was 12 years old driving our Tractors on the Farm .
I been running machines since I could reach the clutch and brakes I drove 2 tractors bout a mile down the road to Bush hog with a mower never had a problem my papa never where his seat belt in machines pr semis never trusted them neither do I but shut happens
If a tree falls on you that's an accident. Most things called an accident are caused by by careless actions. Tractor manuals tell you not to take on passengers. Ignoring this warning is a choice not an accident.
Joel Holme so where do you think your “buddy” should be? With his ass in that very seat, not standing up against the door bumping about while traveling in a high gear over rock hard terrain with traffic. One passenger is allowed, two is not.
As a father I understand wanting to introduce tour children to machinery I've let my kids ride the lawn mower all the time I'm probly wrong for doin it still yet nobody's been hurt so far so good. Anyway your little boy probly didn't have any business on that tractor with you but I get it
Always be safe on equipment, back down the steps using the hand rails lugged boots can hang up on the steps causing you to slip and fall, always put the machine in park or use hand brake. when on hills turns the wheels in case it rolls it will not cause severe damage to equipment facilities. And very important never move a vehicle with the door open "just a few feet" you can catch the door on a post or something and snap a leg or worse break you neck. take your time never hurry around equipment remember slow things can kill you.

Dave Roberts so they put buddy seats on tractors?
Dave Roberts they come with passenger seats 🙄
@@darabradley5173 they also come with seat belts.
You're actually just a dick. Accidents happen man. Have some sympathy.
