Congrats on the W. Hoping Hikaru gets in the candidates. Not sure how the Swiss works exactly, because it does seem like Hans is getting a very tough schedule. Hans getting qualified would be hilarious and great for the content.
@@HunterBelkiran Yes, but even knowing how much money it's worth, this is so hard to do. It's not like no other top player realizes this can make money. The emotional strength it takes to do this after losses (which he does) is quite unreal. Just because Nakamura makes it look easy doesn't mean it is. Levy can't even handle the strain of competitive chess (which I totally get) and Nakamura manages to make superb recaps even if he loses a 5 hour game that is critical for his chances. He deserves the $ 100%.
Hikaru please qualify for the candidates! I've been following you since TSM, you rekindled my liking towards chess that I thought was long lost. I was a huge fan Bjergsen and everytime he failed internationally I felt really bad not to mention the thousands of dollars I bet (and lost) that they get out of groups. For me following you now I think I am at the same level of fandom as I was with Bjerg. So please GM Hikaru do your best always and don't say you literally don't care, please re ignite the spark you said you had once before that ultra competitive spirit. I am very happy every time you recap a win! When I am watching the live broadcast sometimes I get grumpy when they don't show your board immediately or they are taking too long. I fervently wish that one day I will be watching your stream as the World Champion regardless of Magnus being a part of your win or not. Maybe he getting out of the scene means that in this life at least once the title of WORLD Champion will belong to you! WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST GM HIKARU! I HOPE YOU GET TO SEE THIS COMMENT! MUCH LOVE FROM THE PHILIPPINES! MABUHAY!
I’ve watched you hours each day, helped me through tough times , I wonder how you stay on the ball, I guess being patient and silent mind for a bit helps
Hikaru you should watch the Alireza/Hans interview after the game. It’s really wholesome and I hope the whole chess community realizes that players can be friends and overcome all this dumb drama that goes on
yeah seems like it, from what I could see. Alireza has definitely been one of the players that actually accepts Hans' match requests often, so I doubt he feels negatively towards Hans.@@thalyasylos2745
@@thalyasylos2745alireza was acting like hans cheated during the signfield cup or however u spell it. I've played the Black side of Hikaru's Open Catalan, but instead of 7...Be7, 7...a5 leads to some very nice games. There's a nice game Wesley So vs. Magnus from Round 1 of Lindores tournament 2020.
Those recaps are highly informative. Getting an unfiltered glimpse into the thought process of a top player is priceless. Thank you! And I find it extremely fascinating that he is also using courses that are available to everyone.
Love watching both your and GothamChess analysis of the same games! When Sarana plays Qd7 instead of taking the pawn (cxd4) GothamChess showed one line which he thought why it was bad to take and you showed what you were thinking with giving up that pawn. Just love seeing both perspectives
Hikaru thank you for your educational chess videos even though you are tired from preparations and analyzing games. Also, I love how you transitioned to tired to "Welcome everyone for today's Video hehe." I am your fan from the Philippines 🇵🇭!
Only comment I'd make about Hikaru's game is that I wonder what his thoughts were when he played c4xd5. I know that the "solid" response is the nearly automatic e6xd5, but Stockfish analysis verified my reaction that the pawn recapture shouldn't be automatic. It's automatic only if Black wants to stay in a solid Carlsbad type of pawn structure that arises from a GG Exchange type, but Black could also have taken the game into wildness by recapturing Nf6xd5 instead which is probably more typical of Q's Indian and less QGambit type positions. The game could then descend into utter chaos as White gets a mobile pawn center and Black gets an open tactical position where his QB isn't blocked.
I hope Hikaru gets one of the two candidate spots, because that means Alireza Firouzja gets the rating spot ant THAT'S what I'm excited about. Alternatively, they can both get Grand Swiss spots, that works too
I'm glad Hikaru can see the comedy of the same blunder twice for the opposite reason 😂 I'm sure it'd be a whole other story if they drew, post analysis. Great game nontheless, well played by both players right to the end.
I love how Hikaru says Sarana played a big blunder when it was a mistake. But when your Hikaru and not making brilliant moves all the time I guess that is a big blunder 😂
I am a Hikaru fan, but I cringe when he adds up his points to feign that he didn’t already know what he was on, I get that chess is in large pattern recognition/memory but don’t buy the I don’t have a high IQ I am just a regular person routine, he is sharp and I don’t get why he feels the need to sell this line? Congrats on the wins though!
He mentions it a lot cause he is not doing the opening prep himself but rather buying a lot of opening courses there, from what he says in other videos that's what I understand
She’s there with him she posted a picture in her instagram of them together with hikaru’s second kris littlejon. He also spoke about her in his interview on his kick channel saying that he was very sick due to fever but she helped him through it and now he’s much better.
You cannot castle while in check but if you were checked and did not move the king or rook you can still castle on a later move when no longer in check.
