Thanks for posting this. After cleaning my throttle body, I came across this issue( not sure if that caused the high idle). I replaced the valve and fixed the problem. Thank you.
Same code popped up on me when I replaced the IAC valve, and cleaned the TB on my 2004 Element. Spring in it goes bad like the one in a thermostat. I plugged the hose that goes into the intake boot with hi temp silicone from amazon, and did the idle learn procedure, and it's been good for almost 3 years. That's my quick fix for those who does not have the 24mm socket or crowfoot wrench. Good video on how to.
Wanted to thank you for the informative video. Drove 4 hours to fix my daughter’s CRV. Her idle was around 1200rpm. After watching this video and ordering that expensive part ($175 usd). Her idle was locked in at 850rpms after about 5 mins. The 24mm crow foot was a must for me. Thanks again for the info.
Your welcome! Glad it helped you with your daughter's car. Also might want to check that PCV hose that is under the plastic cover on the higher mileage ones they tend to collapse and split sucking in air that I have seen would also cause a high idle.
@theoffroadingmechanic No check engine light but after a cold start my car takes about 5 seconds to crank over, but when I push on the gas pedal when cranking it fires up fast not sure why it does that
Just a few questions does it do it even without stepping on the gas pedal? After you start it while it's still cold shutting it off and starting it back up does it do the same? When it is hot and you shut it off does it still have an extended crank when starting it back up when it is hot. Does it have an extended crank if it sits for like half an hr? And does it feel like it's cranking slowly even with a good battery? Since these crvs are prone to have bad starters after a while but they fail from just junk from the brushes in the armature and causes to crank slowly.
@@theoffroadingmechanic Just when my CRV sits all night I go out put the key into the ignition and it takes a long time to crank before it starts, but I have to push the gas pedal to make it fire up but when I don't push the gas pedal it takes about 5 seconds to turn over
Where can I get this part please? I’m having the same problem. Trying to clean up everything , change Idle air control valve . Same problem. If you can drop the website or part number . I’m really thankful.
I have a 2006 cr-v and the sensor hits the valve cover when re-installing. I don’t see any other way to put a new one in other than removing the valve cover.
How did you tighten it if you didn't have a 24mm crowfoot? was about to tackle this then saw that no wrench fits in there at all it has to be a crows foot and I only have up to 19mm crows foot lol
The PCV hose under the engine cover on the intake manifold likes to collapse and crate a small hole creating a vacuum leak as well also common with age may want to have a look at it as well.
Nice video, thank you. I will have to try same thing and see if this is going to fix the issue. Do you think that causes Check Engine light to come on?
I had the same thing and did the relearn idle and checked for leaks and nothing i did almost everything that says on the internet the last thing that i did. I went to the mechanic and with a computer he reset the throttle body and relearn the idle and then it got FIXED. Everything went back to normal
Had the same issue with my 2008 crv. I replaced the part but it’s still pulling a vacuum? Any thoughts on why this might be still happening? Great video by the way.
Also might want to check is remove the cover that says VTEC. That cover, covers the intake manifold there is a PCV rubber hose. On the older cars they like to break and cause a vacuum leak causing the same code as well.
How if the engine hot and your rpm is down by 6 to 7000. and do you think are they the same problem? I got the same model on your video and all i know normal rpm is 8000 but mine is getting down on 6to 7000rpm when it’s totally hot so i feel some vibration on the all body of the car. Can u help me for that problem?

Where can I get one for 2004 Honda crv. I’m having the same problem. Thank you so much.
Great video........great tip ! ! ! Merry Christmas ! ! ! !
Fantastic informative video sir thank you sir 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you so much for this video! In the middle of this repair right now. The new one is a bitch to get on but it's coming along!
I use the open side of the wrench and at an angle to snug it.
My 2007 Honda Crv For my car to start I have to push the gas pedal then it idles l wonder if this is the problem
Is there a check engine light?

I have a 2008 crv got a P0507 code BUT only turns on when im low on gas i might have to change the gas cap
Did you screw it back on by hand? Or does it need to be wrenched back on?
Was able to just snug it with an opened end wrench

hey boss good job will be the same for accord 2003
Hello
Can we find the leaky hose?
What is it called?
I like the video, I will try because I think I have the same problem if not is the fuse, or an escape air. Thank you

My car shuts off when I disconnect the hose, is a 2006 Accord with the same engine
Where could I get that part gentleman?
Nice video, thank you.
I will have to try same thing and see if this is going to fix the issue.
Do you think that causes Check Engine light to come on?
This was because of a check engine light for a P0507 code
@@theoffroadingmechanic thank you. I am getting same exact code as well and high RPM
Other things you might want to check especially if your car is older there is a PCV hose and they will crack and cause a vacuum leak.

I cleaned the throttle body on my 2011 accord and have the same problem as you. How much is it to have a mechanic do that?
How much the mechanic charged you for that ?
He charged me like $80 bucks to put the computer and reset it
Just buy a bidirectional scan tool. You can buy a range from $50-200.
Is it Kilometers or miles?
Had the same issue with my 2008 crv. I replaced the part but it’s still pulling a vacuum? Any thoughts on why this might be still happening?
Great video by the way.
I think It's the pcv hose inder intake manifold going to Pcv valve. If it throws p0171 code.
Hopefully this works for me 😭 thanks
Also might want to check is remove the cover that says VTEC. That cover, covers the intake manifold there is a PCV rubber hose. On the older cars they like to break and cause a vacuum leak causing the same code as well.

How is the idle RPM goes to 7000, 8000 ?
Looking at the dashboard meter, red limit os 6500 RPM.
Normal idle RPM is about 750.
