    Is there a valve that can be added to these ports? They are either 0.31" or 0.38" with 24 thread count and not tapered.

    I appreciate the video, the contractors didn't install a valve with a drain nipple on it in my utility room. Is it because their reasoning is that the temperature will never go anywhere near 32 degrees in that room?

      At least having a shut off is better than nothing. It really has to do with your water spigot/sillcock on the outside of the house than your internal temperature. That spigot will interact with the outside temperature. Most of those with the internal mechanism to shut off water can handle the temp but better to be safe. Especially for those of us like me in a cold climate.
