    I love thunders, and you have the team hollows. I remember because I was doing a lot of research on those, since I wasn’t too sure about the whole forged base plate, but still wanted light trucks.

    6:00 the trucks are only just put together so they don't fall apart. "out of the factory" comparisons/impressions are basically completely useless on how stiff they are. You should know that.

    I’m not sure why you’re saying the kingpin was an issue on the ledge. It looks like you just missed getting into it completely and slipped out. Kingpin isn’t going to help you lock in if you don’t get into the trick to begin with.

    Zack! What park is that? We have a similar vertical curb here in Hawaii kai but it’s straight vertical . That little slope on that curb is perfect. I can still do slappies on ours but it’s hard as it’s a regular vertical 2’ curb I wish it was more friendly.

    Independent and Ventures. Make my skating so much easier. Venture in the street, Indy for everything else, and in the street too. I never skated Slappy or Thunder. But I’ve tried a few I didn’t like “Tensor” mag lights and the aluminum ones, no turn. Ace af1s I like the turn, not the pop. But they look great And have good quality. Krux not for me, the turn is better than tensor that’s for sure. But they are to light, even the 8.5s are super light feeling, but now I think it’s the geometry 📐 that I didn’t like the angle the hanger sits.

    Dowdy I skate venture loose teams the 8.5. I have two washers inside and one outside to further space a spitfire classic. Also, one additional bones washer on back truck on top of stock top washer, to make the rear truck one turn tighter without hammering down the nut. I like seeing the nut flush with the kingpin and that setup allows the front very loose and the rear a smidge tighter. In the early 2000's we all dealt with grind Kings coming loose without warning so I wonder if you'll stay on those thunders. Good luck!

    At 10:56, you talk about how you liked the bushings a bit more. Jamie Foy has said that transparent colored bushings are better than the solid color ones. It supposed to be due to the properties in the color dye when the bushing is made. He talks about it on the 9club if anyone is curious.

    Thanks for the review. Seems like the common theme is the soft bushings make the trucks feel loose. Also think it’s funny that they’re sending the Spitfire tool to all UA-camrs for reviews but not including for the people spending their hard earned dollars. If you need a special tool, include it! Great video showing the benefits and downfalls of the IVK. Personally, I’ll pass.

    For every vid i see about these trucks i have one question. Is the king pin the weak point? Will it break first? Any inverted kingpin I've come across has had that issue and i believe its simple do to the design. Instead of a fixed kingpin, its able to wobble. That wobble breaks the kingpin. Thats just my "theory"

    One negative thing about inverted kingpins is you can’t keep track of how loose or tight the trucks are by looking at how many threads are above the bolt(unless you take the truck off and look underneath)

    • @norvillerogersgreeneryknight
      @norvillerogersgreeneryknight Місяць тому +4

      Try turning both nuts, with the same arm, to the range of tightness that you like. Tighten the front while taking note of how hard it feels to tighten once it's at your preferred spot, then try the back truck while feeling for that same range
