Matz is their duo name, which basically just means eldest brothers. They have said that originally their unit song was meant to be a lighter song but Seonghwa really had hip hop in his heart and wanted to try, so Hongjoong produced this and they both wrote the lyrics :) Ateez will be releasing 3 more unit MVs this month!

Then when the music starts demons come out. They were told they would have units for this album. When Hongjoong and Seonghwa were put together HongJoong thought it would give them a chance to give us Thank U part 2 (Thank U is a song Hongjoong wrote to Seonghwa about their friendship). Instead Seonghwa said let’s do a hard hitting hip hop and call out the haters on it. And we got this banger
Its funny that you mention how they get into character. Seonghwa, Hongjoong, and San are affectionately known as "the demon line" bc off stage they're loveable goofballs, but when it's time to perform it's like a switch and they become "demons" bc of if their intensity and attitude onstage.

Hongjoong's line "If you want to put a GPS put it on a suitcase, not on a Carnival, You can be busy too" is a references to 2021 where they found GPS trackers on their Kia Carnival. After that line Hongjoong raps how they need to get a life or they can put GPS rather in their luggage becuz they are always travelling around the world so it's useless to put them on their cars.

I’ve been on several lives where stalker fans were blowing up their cell phones. Or they get mobbed with cameras stuck right in their faces. It’s crazy and sometimes a little scary. The people in black seem to be representing those types of people. Some have camera film over their faces and the store is selling the ill-gotten media.

MONSTA X debuted in 2015 and have the rapper duo JooHoney and I.M, who are fire 🔥 Going back to 2012, we got the iconic group B.A.P, with rapper duo YongGuk and ZELO. 2011 we got BLOCK B, with legendary rapper ZICO and even further back to 2006 gave us BIGBANG, with one of the best rappers in the industry - G-Dragon. All these groups have that perfect combination of rap and vocals, that just plays and bounces off each other in a perfect energetic mix 😊
