I think is the most important movie that came in that decade.. narration, characters, music, storyline, theme, the way the scenes were staged everything is just spellbinding. Kamal Haasan became a legend to me after watching this film.

Asuran was compromised a lot to fulfill dhanush's hard core fans. Asuran is a very good film but Virumandi is an epic. Sure Asuran was inspired a lot from Virumandi. One similarity is Kamal would chop off Kothalan's close ally OAK sundar's hand with an aruvaal in the flashback. Dhanush too would chop off The landlord's close ally's hand with an aruva in a flashback.

Kamal is a visionary, he used live recording for the first time in indian cinema in this movie and was explaining how he use gunny bags (chakku pai) to dampen the ambient noise I just recently saw Nolan explaining how he used live recording for Oppenheimer and found it difficult, eveen there were some as some complaints about the dialogues were not quite audible by reviewers in Oppenheimer, in comparison Kamal did a great job nearly 20 years ago🤘

Simply class...It takes a lot of conviction and passion and genuine love to the craft to make such creations, be it in any field...they might not serve sweetness in the first bite, may be it mandates a certain level of maturity to perceive it..but time had always proven to recognize such gems eventually, even it's late...Shawshank redemption is one such classical example from the history that we could see today. Likewise this guy's lot of creations are yet to receive its true recognition. But certainly time will give the deserving honor. But the sad part is whether the creator will able there to witness it or not is the question...A true genuine artist, a generation failed to recognize and celebrate...

Asuran was compromised a lot to fulfill dhanush's hard core fans. Asuran is a very good film but Virumandi is an epic. Sure Asuran was inspired a lot from Virumandi. One similarity is Kamal would chop off Kothalan's close ally OAK sundar's hand with an aruvaal in the flashback. Dhanush too would chop off The landlord's close ally's hand with an aruva in a flashback.

Asuran is a good film, no denying that but virumandi is one of the all time classics. Kamal is a visionary, he used live recording for the first time in indian cinema in this movie and was explaining how he use gunny bags (chakku pai) to dampen the ambient noise I just recently saw Nolan explaining how he used live recording for Oppenheimer and found it difficult, eveen there were some as some complaints about the dialogues were not quite audible by reviewers in Oppenheimer, in comparison Kamal did a great job nearly 20 years ago🤘
