- What does every 4 week old baby need? A visit to a NATA certified calibration laboratory, that's what!
Dave takes his baby scale to a NATA cal lab to check it's performance, because, well, he can...
Check out www.triosmartca...
that baby scale is scaringly accurate
@TheWelly888 Yes, it comes with a baby tray, I didn't have it with me at the lab. Essential when he's awake and squirming!
@Films4You
1) This isn't a lab scale with .001 g res. Those aren't .01 g calibration weights.
2) He touched every weight, yet only the 12 kg measurement was off.
3) The sweat didn't weigh 10 g. Or 5 (which would've been enough to cause the scale to round up to 12010, as it seems to have 10 g resolution). It didn't even weigh 1 g.
4) Okay, in the case that the msrmnt error was .001 g smaller than "needed" to cause the scale to round up to 12010 g, touching the weights could've made a difference.
@astrowanabe I did take it apart hoping to find some cal trimpots. Didn't think to take photo's or video, was under wifely pressure :-> Just a big arse strain guage and a micro + misc parts. It was pretty good though.
That spells 0.1% accuracy... 1 gram for 1kg... Wow...
Dave has an excellent set of baby scales.
Congratulations, Dave.
I don't know what a cal lab would have to do with the National Athletic Trainer's Assn.
Shouldn't he be wearing gloves when handling precision weights to prevent corrosion and contamination? He could have just finished stuffing his face with some kind of greasy concoction at lunch and.... Oh, THAT'S why there are oily spots and coffie spills on the calibration certificates.
This reminded me of when I worked for NCR I had to calibrate scales in stores still have the 30 pound of certified weights some day I will sell them sad part very costly to ship.
lol before even going to kg hes been to a NATA lab, what a kid!!
Haha. Who's the epic nerdy dad? Dave is! Awesome humor Dave.
haha nice work Dave, congrats!
neat! looking forward to the tour. if it's anything like the apex electronics store visit i'll be drooling!
@quadcam24v That would've been cool!
yeah Dave, Chicco is german company (part of Italian group Artsana) and
that's explain all, just think Gossen Metrawatt ...
Ah Dave, for the first 40 seconds of the video I though you were having us on with a fake baby!
They sure do grow up fast.
dude the number 13 is only unlucky if you are a templar knight. (or possibly if u drink like one)
Who thought the baby was fake until it started moving at the end ._.
That was cute. BTW - Please don't show us testing the baby thermometer.
Hi. I"m service ingeneer. How can I enter calibration mode? Thank You.
your gonna be a cool dad, for sure :D
@EEVblog That guy's from Northern Ireland, isn't he...
@cleverca22 I think this is one of those units that won't like a teardown much. Best to leave the baby as is. :) Keeps them much happier =p
What's that baby made of?
@astrowanabe lol
i saw teardown and imediatly thought of the baby!
baby teardown!
@TheKaneB
yeah you right, only some toys and babycars will be designed in Germany, produced anyway in china as everything else in the world :P
@gbowne1 isn't this pi
Not calibration but verification.
would've been awesome if it was 3.555 ;)
WHere's Charles from, do I hear an Irish accent? :D
Wow!
Ha! Lovely! :D
