Yes, this is a compilation video. However, Babymetal is so consistent with their choreography and Su-metals vocal performance, it makes it very easy to make these compilation videos look like they come from the same performance!....obviously different stage sets and their various change of costumes through the years but still the same consistent level of Professionalism. I will ask that you go back and watch one of the other video on your own time....perhaps the one from Legend 1997 or from the Budokan Black Night show...For the Ending....this one just flat out leaves out the best part at the end!!! More Babymetal Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Great reaction again. 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday - it is also a coming of age thing as 15 marks the end of compulsory education in Japan, so she is realising life will never be the same, her first 15 years passed by so quickly, so she is etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget. At shows in 2014 on or near their own 15th birthdays Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne/Koln) took over lead vocals for the second half of the song while Su took their place in the choreo. Only fancam videos exist for those. The same thing happened in 2019 on Moa's 20th birthday (Japanese official coming of age). The Babymetal Reactor Resource channel has that under the title 'Moabanger'. You spotted this was a compilation video eventually, but you also demonstrated why most fans try to point you towards specific performances of songs and away from compilations for your first time hearing and seeing a song - they are distracting and take your mind off the song and performance, which is what a first reaction should be about. There are some good compilation videos about (this is one of the good ones) and there are some absolute horrors (one or two of these have the highest viewing figures too, so don't go by that as a guide to what is the best version), but either way they can be very confusing and the constant jumping from one show to another, different stages, indoor and outdoor concerts, costume changes etc can be very distracting. Also the audio might be from anywhere - in this one I think they took the audio from at least 2 different performances in different years ... but at least they did use live audio. Jake Muller has explained about the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel below and how you can find a link to a spreadsheet with good live videos for all their songs in the description of the 'Future Plans' video. I hope you will follow his advice - and he has also recommended some good songs with good live performance videos that are on UA-cam and normally safe for reactions. I will second those suggestions.
Welcome back to the Foxhole.🦊🤘 It's been a while, i remember your last reaction. You did fine with the PA PA YA! reaction, watching an original clip of one of a kind live concert, sadly it wasn't really live sound. This time you arrive to a beloved BabyMetal song by far, it got a live sound but like you noticed is a live compilation that makes no justice to what they're really trying to show and express on every different live concerts, that's why the majority of BM fans will always recommend original clips, even if some aren't the best version at least are safe to react, but i know this type of live compilation helps to dodge the copyright blocked, in the other hand they're distracting with the switch up costumes and stages. I also know is easy to been fooled to watch this because of the amount of views and there's no warning about being a live compilation. This isn't the worst case scenario, there are horrible live comps with unsync and footage of fancams mixed with live version not related to the songs itself and more mistakes, so always try to follow our recommendation of specific version and original clips, long time BM fans will always recommend safe to react versions but also you got another big help, read next. We know Amuse is very hard to deal with copyright blocked issues, fortunately we got a way to go around with "Babymetal Reactor Resource" YT place, you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them. You'll find some watermarked clips in the channel also with the description and where to get the non-logo version. If you want you can watch the original clean version and pause whenever you like to say your comment and after that you can put a logo provided in the same place so you can enjoy a clean version from the beginning. You can also put some heavy opacity and translucent effect to avoid those issues if necessary. However there are some safe clips to react like those from Legend 1997 or some of Budokan 2014 or previous to this year and Festivals that is out of reach from Amuse hands. Avoid Glastonbury Festival performance, the sound is bad and the crowd isn't the usual fans. Here's some examples of safe to react live performances: - "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" live at Legend 1997 (2013, you can find this a "Gans Tomas" channel or "abr metal") or Legend I (2012). - "Rondo Of Nightmare" with Mischiefs Of Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, this one normally is safe to react without any filters. ("Kawaii Metal" channel got this) - "Catch Me If You Can", you got live at Budokan 2014 with subtitles version at GuilhermeCait channel or live at MetroRock 2015 in Babymetal Reactor Resource channel under the title "CMIYC". - "Ijime Dame Zettai" live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 (lately hasn't been so safe, so careful) - "Karate" live at Download Festival 2016 ("kitsune6001" channel got this one) - Distortion, live at Download Festival 2018 or Rock Am Ring 2018, official channel got the Download version and is safe to react. If you follow this step by step you won't have blocked issues the majority of times, but sometimes there has been issues with certain songs so if you got those try to put opacity, blur or translucent effect, that might help a little bit. Thanks for sharing your BabyMetal reactions and reading this humble recommendation. 🦊🤘
Great reaction, thanks! Yeah, choosing a video by the number of view is never the best policy here in YT. You literally saw them growing up since this compilation uses live footage from 2013 to 2020. And they were 16 and 14 in late 2013. 😁And, as you have been told, this is not even the worst compilation video out there. With that being said, "Headbanger" or more properly "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" or "ヘドバンギャー!!" (Hedobangyā!!) is one of their earliest works and one of their huge classic hits. They performed it in several special occasions, like birthday related concerts, with very particular and cool changes which means that the song is very special to them as well. Well, thanks to this compilation you have been able to see several of their stage setups, with some of them being really, really crazy. That huge setup was from the Tokyo Dome shows in 2016. Their biggest concerts till date, with 55.000 people on each of both back to back nights. Until next time!
You got a compilation here, the definitive versions are from either Legend 1997 or Budokan Black Night. As you travel into the Foxhole try to find single live performances...the exception would be the "The Epic Experience of Babymetal" which is a compilation set to "Distortion" by Wide Open. Maybe try that next. Headbanger is a bittersweet coming of age song. The girl in the song is 15 years old and she goes to a concert and to emphasize that she's still a child she talks about using a junior subway pass. At the concert she's in the crowd and lost in the music and she vows to remember this carefree moment as she knows that she'll soon become and adult with all of it's responsibilities. The song is used to celebrate BM birthdays with 15 replaced by the singer's current age and both of the backup singers and dancers, Moa and Yui, have sung the lead to celebrate their own birthdays.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' is a classic. One of their first hits. Lead singer Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su) was only 14 when the single and music video for this song were released. I was thrilled when they brought it back into the setlist for the 2019 US tour. Su can really deliver a rocker.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Yes, this is a compilation from shows in 2013 through 2020. The crowd's mass headbanging occurs wherever BM goes on this planet and whenever Su-Metal wants people to do so with her death stare 😄. In addition, you heard the crowd shout some words at 06:23. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!" (addressed to crybabies in the metal concert). Of course people did it in 2019 US tour (20 gigs in 18 states) and 2020 European tour (17 gigs in 11 countries). Last year 2021, BM played this song in all of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN Concerts with Su's matured voice and Moa's more agitating moves. I witnessed it 9 times at the venue and was enchanted to headbang 9 times ヽ(^o^)丿
I'm Japanese . Thank for your nice reaction . When you have a hard time , you should listen 'no rain no rainbow' by BABYMETAL . Your soul would be fulfilled by the God blessing , I think .
WoW cool costumes they change during the performance 🤣 dont worry your not the first to suddenly realise it is a completion and will not be the last . Definitely see you where enjoying that hope you react to more BabyMetal and as mentioned check out BabyMetal Reactors Resource channel 😀 🤘🦊🤘
Headbanger!!!!!!! legend of 1997 is one of their best live performances. Su-Metal had her 16th birthday on that day. Another one, you can find later, is a version where Moa-metal takes over vocals for the last bit. It's fun, too! Babymetal never fails to entertain! See Mischief of the Gods/Rondo of Nightmare at Budokan Black Night. Su-Metal ahs a nice solo and the band shows off how amazing they are.
Yes, that is a harpsichord (on the backing track) played in Baroque style. A very Goth thing back in the 60's and 70's although Goth was not a thing yet. Their costumes were originally inspired by Japanese Gothic Lolita style (a real thing) and progressed from there.
I like how you started to smile as soon as they started. That's what BABYMETAL is all about! No reason to feel bad about not recognizing the compilation. There is so much going on at their shows, it can be hard to keep up, even when it's only a single one. There were also about 7 years of age between the different shows in this compilation. :-) That's precisely why I am not a fan of these compilations, even though some are pretty well done, like this one. But sometimes it's necessary to get around UA-cam blocks. The heads you saw on one of the stages were foxes. Once you get a little more familiar with BABYMETAL, you'll notice that the fox is a common image at their shows. For example, you might notice that the hand sign they are doing is not the common devil horns sign, but a fox head. This is related to the extensive lore around BABYMETAL, which tells about the Fox God sending them to earth to unite the world in Metal. If you'd like to see one of the best live performances ever, the obvious recommendation is "Road of Resistance Live in Japan". It tends to get blocked, though, so you'd be well advised to take some precautions like pausing frequently and using a semi-transparent overlay. It's worth it, though.
" different scenes .... or maybe they are super fast and I do not know how they go back and forth ...." (c) pay attention that they still have time to instantly change outfits at the same time!
The stages aren't the same, the girls are different ages and are wearing different outfits, at one point there's five girls, the crowd motions are different, the backing band is different . . . yep, it's a compilation! They always are from the channel, something they make clear in the description.
Very nice reaction and welcome back to the fox hole. Yes it was a compilation but you clearly enjoyed the song so that's all that matters. Non-compilation videos are always preferred but if you stumble into one now and then its not a huge deal. You didn't even notice it was a comp video until over half way through the song, which is very common. You're too busy enjoying yourself. The advantage to watching non-compilation videos is more continuity and , arguably, better quality. Less distracting costume changes, stage sets etc. The disadvantage to non-comp videos is there are a limited number of choices. If compilation videos did not exist, we would be watching every reactor react to the same video over and over again. Sometimes its nice to have a switch up once in a while. In some cases, the only alternative is the official video which is often studio audio dubbed in with edited concert footage which is not so great either.
Great reaction. Their is a lot of things going on at a Babymetal live show and it's hard to notice the big picture, Babymetal is an assault on all the senses, don't beat yourself up about it. 🙂
Great reaction. Well I see you already received the encyclopedic (“sadly”) explanation of compilations. But I think the “actual majority” of fans are just glad that you enjoyed it nonetheless. Road of Resistance Live in Japan would be my recommendation for a next BabyMetal reaction. Until next time.

Good reaction👊🏽⚡️Try the song “Karate”. Then you will have heard a song from all 3 of their albums.
I like the compilations! Don't worry, I didn't notice at first either. Headbanger is not one of my favourites of theirs, but it's still a lot of fun.
