The ONLY thing I think there won't be unforseen consequences, is the town hall, with boss hunts so I CAN get ALL achievements (I have all but the 3 boss hunt achievements I've seen the 97% completed for so long), and BRING BACK SOIL, I MISSED IT AND I'M SAD, and less lawn a thon and randos. Also, I like the boss hunt idea you say, HOWEVER, I believe there are achievements for other town hall modes, and I know that there is an achievement for Cats vs. Dinos (which was an amazing mode either way). Completely unrelated, but having that music for the outro is perfect for this special occasion.

my personal gripe with Rux is that after collecting everything in the Stickerbook you would only get spawnables which is fine but you can no longer get the legendary pots/bots, so please sell legendary pots/bots like once or twice every rotation. Other than that it's just the usual, return community challenges like IDK once a month for 2 weeks, bring back the old every 1 week rotation for the Mystery Portal including Cats vs Dino's, Boss Hunt, Capture the Taco and Soil Survivors. They could also bring these modes into the Multiplayer Portal (albeit for no Rainbow Stars) as it was planned at one point but was cut so didn't make it into the game. Lastly return the 1 week rotation for Rux and bring back the sale of legendary costumes for Torchwood and Hover Goat 3000.
I'd like to see the community challenge come back, Theres a handful of achievements locked behind them alongside the challenges being a great way to keep players actually playing the game to achieve a goal, and it's just a great way to get legendary character pieces without having to pray to RNGesus to actually get the pieces.

In the PvZ Heroes community, a few weeks ago there were some "leaked balance changes." I put it in quotes cuz it's not confirmed and hasn't happened yet, but I hope they're realizing they _have_ games people adore, and can still do things with them

I love Wolfy’s 4 month plan (except it should probably include cats vs Dinos as well), but I also like playing the regular game modes with a spin on them once in a while. I think they should have 2 portals/servers at once. One is only the fully original game modes being switched around monthly, while we have another portal that changes weekly or every 2 weeks that has modified game modes like to heal or not to heal. Either that or half a month is an original game mode and the other half is a modified one. It would also be amazing if the community could vote on which effects are active during a modified mode (like super speed and stuff)

In all seriousness, great to hear your thoughts on this, and I pretty much agree that the Mystery Portal being updated is a more necessary change than new content and especially GW3 or whatever. Also something to consider: Cats VS Dinos should also come back because that also has a couple of dedicated achievements, and there's also achievements for Community Challenges, which I will never live down because I opened 2 out of 3 chests needed for the achievements back when they were still a thing.
Seeing the game I love so much, one I’ve stuck with since I was 9, doing well and continuing to get support from both the people who are keeping it on life support and from the fans feels so good
After getting the platinum on GW2 and 1 in 2021, I do remember waiting around for the portal to change to cats v dinos and others to get a trophy, imma redownload GW2 since I only play GW1 but hearing this revival will be interesting to see what could occur next.

I've only just come back to this game... mostly for the nostalgia. But the way I see it... if a Marvel vs Capcom collection can become a reality after the trainwreck that was the MVCI era, and Sora can get into Smash Bros, then surely something can happen with this game too, right?
Personally, the reason why I'm so excited about the _possibility_ of getting an update is that even if we only get some small tweaks as Wolfy mentioned, it could be enough to start a small snowball effect and eventually, who knows when we could MAYBE see EA proving Wolfy wrong and actually giving us new content. If we get an update, even if it's small it will be HUGE. We may never get the hype stuff like new content, but just getting an update would be a massive W because it would mean that they acknowledge us
They could also maybe put in some effort to globally support mods. I think the loads of variant mod brings that sweet feeling of figuring new characters out when we first started playing the game. Also games with this feature like Doom, (one more im forgetting), still remain popular due to this

6:42 yes there are. It’s not for the main trophy set that gives you platinum, but if I hadn’t played back then, I wouldn’t have been able to actually 100% the game trophy / achievement wise. I actually am quite pissed about it. Because I started playing with a friend again about 3 months ago and he stopped playing GW2 way earlier that I did back then so he didn’t get that trophy whilst I luckily did (as well as getting Twilight Chomper and he still has to buy it…). But trashy points aside, I’m just happy to be able to play again. Playing with my old friend is fun as hell and I just love the game to this day.

Definitely a necessary reality check. As much as I'd love to see this game get new content, I absolutely agree that that's unlikely. Although I too would be glad to be proven wrong. I think town hall changes like you mentioned would be realistic, and one such change I'd like to see would be shorter periods of the town hall being closed, partly because I've been playing the game a lot and the closed time feels incredibly long to me, but also so that more gamemodes could be squeezed into the rotation. That might give players Trials keys too frequently for EA's tastes, but I don't think it would be too much to ask for them to then separate the rainbow chests' availability from the town hall's availability. Also, respect for advocating for Boss Hunt returning despite your prior misgivings. I was in a similar situation with Soil, but having had this many years to reflect, I would definitely like to see it return as well.
There are achievements that are locked you don’t need them for the platinum but you can’t get 100% there is a cats and Dino and boss hunt trophies and community challenges trophies
They should also make town halls more frequent, even if its only twice a month. Rux should appear weekly and sell more various items, like costumes and pvz heroes hats. Also community challenges should be brought back if possible. If they do add anything, an in game fov slider would be great, especially for console players

I like your thoughts on the boss hunt thing, but I think a better change would be having it for the same amount of time, but you can choose the boss. That way after you've done all the achievement stuff, you can just play the one you like as much as you want without having to wait for it and such.

Wolfy you were right! There are actually achievements (at least on PlayStation) locked behind the mystery portal, some being impossible to get now such as Boss Hunt and Cats vs Dinos. I'm only missing 4 achievements and all 4 are from unplayable mystery portal events
I never got to play Boss Hunt or Soil Survivors, so I would appreciate it if the Town Hall got reworked. It gets even worse considering how Boss Hunt achievements do exist. As it currently stands, the game is impossible to 100% due to lack of Boss Hunt achievements and Unicorn Chomper.
If theres any kind of update it'd probably only be for the town hall and rux, all the old modes and stuff like the hovergoat and torchwood skins EA Shepard has tried to get a revival of GW2 in the past, they had talked about trying to get boss hunt back into the game but nothing came of it
It would be cool if they got a team together for some new stuff, but it probably won't happen. Some new maps or just a few patches to update some characters or game modes would be really nice.

Yes there is indeed achievements behind things currently able to be accessed ex: boss hunt, cats vs dinos, soil (I think??), and community challenges

There are achievements locked behind Boss Hunt AND Cats vs Dinos. I’ve been locked at 2/3 out of the Boss Hunt achievement for years now
6:42 yes there are. It’s not for the main trophy set that gives you platinum, but if I hadn’t played back then, I wouldn’t have been able to actually 100% the game trophy / achievement wise. I actually am quite pissed about it. Because I started playing with a friend again about 3 months ago and he stopped playing GW2 way earlier that I did back then so he didn’t get that trophy whilst I luckily did (as well as getting Twilight Chomper and he still has to buy it…).
But trashy points aside, I’m just happy to be able to play again. Playing with my old friend is fun as hell and I just love the game to this day.
If boss hunts come back thats enough for me.

Only with bringing back abandoned mystery portal gamemodes like Soil survivors, buss hunts and more instead of 3 quaters of it just being lawn-a-thon will be more than enough for me, me and some people know that the game won't recybe more content in the future cause like wolfy said before the dev team is gone, so making the already existing things change for good will be more than enough for me and a lot of people that still love this game with all of his heart

6:42 Im speaking on behalf of my dad here who got into GW2 a few months back and wanted to go for 100% yes!!! Yes the game has achievements (and stickerbook items) that are locked behind the retired community challeges and Boss Hunts, its really unfair for them to essentially gatekeep these achievements and items when there is no real reason to do so
The only thing I think is guaranteed is that the gw2 servers won’t be shut down within the next 5 years

Definitely a necessary reality check. As much as I'd love to see this game get new content, I absolutely agree that that's unlikely. Although I too would be glad to be proven wrong.
I think town hall changes like you mentioned would be realistic, and one such change I'd like to see would be shorter periods of the town hall being closed, partly because I've been playing the game a lot and the closed time feels incredibly long to me, but also so that more gamemodes could be squeezed into the rotation. That might give players Trials keys too frequently for EA's tastes, but I don't think it would be too much to ask for them to then separate the rainbow chests' availability from the town hall's availability.
Also, respect for advocating for Boss Hunt returning despite your prior misgivings. I was in a similar situation with Soil, but having had this many years to reflect, I would definitely like to see it return as well.
There are achievements that are locked you don’t need them for the platinum but you can’t get 100% there is a cats and Dino and boss hunt trophies and community challenges trophies
They should also make town halls more frequent, even if its only twice a month. Rux should appear weekly and sell more various items, like costumes and pvz heroes hats. Also community challenges should be brought back if possible. If they do add anything, an in game fov slider would be great, especially for console players

I like your thoughts on the boss hunt thing, but I think a better change would be having it for the same amount of time, but you can choose the boss. That way after you've done all the achievement stuff, you can just play the one you like as much as you want without having to wait for it and such.

Yea they're actually are a few achievements that require to beat a boss hunt on each difficulty and they're the only ones I'm missing (fingers crossed EA pull on the big boy pants and fix this amazing game)

It's "Far horizons" from Skyrim. I've played that game to death.
this feels like the same thing that happens with titanfall 2. anytime anything happens in tf2 theres some massive resurgence that brings in thousands of players and the same happens in gw2.
Honestly, if this god forsaken game gets at least a tiny tiny update, then that gives us so much hope that something more is coming. This game is my childhood, and it is still an incredibly popular game to this day and it would make me so so So happy if EA actaully gives the game a chance again
Wolfy you were right! There are actually achievements (at least on PlayStation) locked behind the mystery portal, some being impossible to get now such as Boss Hunt and Cats vs Dinos. I'm only missing 4 achievements and all 4 are from unplayable mystery portal events

I never got to play Boss Hunt or Soil Survivors, so I would appreciate it if the Town Hall got reworked. It gets even worse considering how Boss Hunt achievements do exist. As it currently stands, the game is impossible to 100% due to lack of Boss Hunt achievements and Unicorn Chomper.

EA Shepard has tried to get a revival of GW2 in the past, they had talked about trying to get boss hunt back into the game but nothing came of it

you can get platinum without them, they are counted as dlc achivments, but it does show that you only completed 80% of the game
