Those trucks are always breaking down. You think all those dodge parts will last over 20 years😅. A constant process of replacing things as they break and leave you stranded
In 1997 my grandparents ordered a brand new model year 98 Ram 1500 in that beautiful red color with this body style. I absolutely loved that truck and wanted it so bad. Grandma sold it in 2010 after grandpa died and it looked as mint as the day they brought it home. He had an old F-250 he putzed around the farm with so it never left the garage lol In my opinion this is the best body style of the Ram, it just looks so damn good and the growl of the Cummins diesel sounds amazing!!!
Nice video once again thanks for the time to watch and relax. On another note. I felt like I went on a binge watch you pressure wash the dust off that truck it was quite satisfying lol
You must be my cousin man. I make a living with a backhoe and excavator and live on property with a bunch of old diesel horses that I play with. Damn brother. Awesome. Keep on rollin. Doing good.
My Father-in-law passed away last month. My brother-in-law got his 2019 Dodge Ram 2500. I got his 2001 Dodge Ram quad cab 2500 24 valve automatic trans he parked outside in the cow pasture and was sitting for 4 years. The batteries were dead so I got 2 new batteries. The engine cranked on the very first turn. It had a full tank of diesel in it. I was amazed it only had 130K miles on it. It is completely stock, zero mods and one owner. It was extremely dirty as he never once took it to a car wash, but it cleaned up really nice on the inside. No rips in the seats. Only a couple of cracks in the dash. He had the floor mats upside down so they cleaned up like factory new. Other than not cleaning it and letting it sit for 4 years, he totally babied the truck. The body does have some damage from cows and a tree falling on it during a tornado a few years ago. Also the paint is faded. The tornado/tree also busted out the rear windshield. The AC doesn't work. I thought it was just an actuator blend door. I replaced the actuator but it is still not cooling, I am hoping it just needs Freon now. I am totally loving this truck. Everyone at my cowboy church wants to buy it. I told them all they can forget it. I am almost thinking my brother-in-law got the short end of the deal 😄.
Damned good buy. As is, bad engine/turbo/power steering, that's a 12k truck ALL day long. Fixed, 17 to almost 20k. We got rust. Doing the curves, she sounded pretty too. Lose the screwdriver though, it just looks awful. I reccommend a John Milner shifter. (I use a piston out of a dirt bike. Drill and tap the wrist pin, neoprene band to eliminate the rattle.)
That sort of corny term "dream truck/car", well this one is mine!! 8) Loved that John Prine tune at the beginning! I had the privilege of meeting him several times in Nashville. I did some guitar work there several times over the years. John was just a super nice guy! C19 got him, very sadly. Great find Sam!! 8) --gary
I have a 1974 Ford F-250 camper special 2wd that I am also looking into doing a 12 valve Cummins swap as well. My only problem is trying to find a worthy donor truck in my neck of the woods.
Lucky you I had to get rid of my 02 back in 2019 due to smog issues now I'm welding out of an F 2 sissy gasser I need a 2gen extra cab even if it's a 12valve I'm always looking but no luck so far
Trust me my right side headlight now that is yellowed lol, and why i scored a used decent shape junkyard headlights set just need to clean the dirt and leaves out of the housings and put the new set of Sylvania silver Star headlight bulbs in the housings and installed on the truck and then it will have a good set of headlights and fog lights on the front of the truck, the Dr side is okay well ish
That’s an awesome find Sam! When your using the yellow can oven cleaner have you had any negative issues using it? Like eating rubber hoses or electrical lines? Or can you use it decently liberally? I have a filthy engine bay I want to try it on! Keep up the great content!
The CTD 2nd gens stole my heart when I bought a brand new one in 2001. Traded it in in 2017. Miss that truck. Is that John Prine and what song is that? Sure do like it.
as I was watching this video I'm wondering ..you were considering parting it out? bruh that things mint. I'm from the rust belt and the few of those truck that I do see there all rolling rust holes. glad its being saved.
If you're interested I have a 96 12 valve I've been working on to put into my 79 1 ton GMC, but I recently came across a 2006 3500 24 valve with a G56 that I got cheap from a Utah owner. So, to make a long story short, I really don't need the 12 valve any longer (plus I don't have a trans for it either) If you want more details, hit me up. I have a couple of videos of it on UA-cam.
Wow you just casually scooped up a unicorn and act like it just another day. Glad your going to save it, if you just don't want to mess with I'll take it off your hands.
Really i wonder if it is a different setup or why would it not function,i say that because my 2000 dodge ram laramie slt quad cab long bed magnum V8 46 RH automatic overdrive transmission manual shift transfer case lever on the floor gloss black with most of the white pinstripe 1500 4x4 fasten belts light works, headlight warning buzzer works and the check engine light and brake light when you first turn on the ignition key all work
And i have a full set of fender flares for the 2000 dodge ram truck because that's what they were going to do about the rusted out front fenders and yeah nope not me not my way of doing things,, I would just drive it with the rusted out front fenders until I find a decent set of front fenders, before I put those flares on the truck and they look like a new set although I just left them out in the weather since i have no intention of using them on anything.
My 2002 2500 single rear wheel I just sold cause it was a rust bucket had a 56 block and so did my buddy’s 2002 3500 dialog as far as I know there is no 53 blocks in the 2002 models
Keep her, they just don’t make ‘‘em like that anymore,of course you know that.great video
Those trucks are always breaking down. You think all those dodge parts will last over 20 years😅.
A constant process of replacing things as they break and leave you stranded
Rig was literally parked for 7 years it fired right up and drove down the road. Wtf you talking about millstid haha
I’m glad you’re going to save this truck. It deserves another chance at life. Can’t wait for the future videos on it and all the other truck content.
Officially like this channel more than GregA now

Hey Sam, those pliers were a front pocket find! Looks like you made a shrewd purchase. Nice truck.
Love that your repping VGG
You sure don't see rigs that rust free here in the buckeye state. Nicely done.
No kidding. I'm in Indiana and we'd all kill for a truck like that at a decent price out here
Truck cleaned up pretty well, a little bit of love is all that’s needed
YOUR GETTING GOOD at this.
Man i have the same truck to a tee except for Mines a cab and chassis. This build is going to be my Bible to finishing my build out. Can't wait
Love these videos 😊 Keep up the great work bud 👍😎
You must be my cousin man. I make a living with a backhoe and excavator and live on property with a bunch of old diesel horses that I play with. Damn brother. Awesome. Keep on rollin. Doing good.

SO jealous, I have been looking for one for a long time.
Saved...Nice find, and really got life left in it.....be fun restoring this one
That truck looks so good. It should be your new light duty rig
Damned good buy. As is, bad engine/turbo/power steering, that's a 12k truck ALL day long. Fixed, 17 to almost 20k. We got rust. Doing the curves, she sounded pretty too. The vice grip garage merch in this video is fitting! Like both of y’all’s channels

Definitely need to fix that one
This is going to be a nice build!
Lucky you I had to get rid of my 02 back in 2019 due to smog issues now I'm welding out of an F 2 sissy gasser I need a 2gen extra cab even if it's a 12valve I'm always looking but no luck so far
These kinda resto videos are my favorite

I think we all new you were going to save this truck 😀
That's a good looking truck and they run good when everything is done to it
Re did my whole ac system on my second gen and I swear it’s the coldest 2nd gen I’ve ever been in
That’s an awesome find Sam! When your using the yellow can oven cleaner have you had any negative issues using it? Like eating rubber hoses or electrical lines? Or can you use it decently liberally? I have a filthy engine bay I want to try it on! Keep up the great content!
It will eat the shine off paint if left on. But underneath stuff I haven’t had any issues. Let it sit for 5 or so minutes helps alor
The CTD 2nd gens stole my heart when I bought a brand new one in 2001. Traded it in in 2017. Miss that truck. Is that John Prine and what song is that? Sure do like it.
Yup! It’s a keeper!!..👍🏽😆…Aloha 🤙🏽
56 block is the thickest made compared to the 53 and 54 and so on...
IF I HAD A TRUCK LIKE THIS I WOULD KEEP HER❤❤
I just bought a 95 2500 and it's in a couple pieces now.
The cummins and drive train is getting resealed and frame is getting powder coated.
I was driving down the road with this playing in the truck. Couldn’t tell what was my turbo or what was yours 😂
If you don’t mind me asking, what is the song that plays in the beginning? Really liked it
Nice rig, Sam. What year is that truck? I can hear the Holset whistle when you let off the throttle. You saved another one.
"Crew cab" lol nice score!
Hahah laughed when I was editing that shhh
Hey, what spray were you using on the frame?
I want to know too!
I have an 02 just like that! Wouldn't trade it for 2024!
Great video 🎉
I’m always amazed at how little rust is on these trucks. A 10 year old truck in the salty rust belt looks twice as old as this truck!
Those old girls are all about gone here in kansas and the cummins all pulled from their rusted bodies and chassis for swaps and irrigation
as I was watching this video I'm wondering ..you were considering parting it out? bruh that things mint. I'm from the rust belt and the few of those truck that I do see there all rolling rust holes. glad its being saved.
Damn bro, that truck was parked the same year I graduated high school....
*insert Saving Private Ryan aging meme*
Hell yeah keep it bro
Heck yeah brother 👍🇺🇸💪🏻
Great video. Drive that Dodge truck for a long time.
Y'all bought yerself a nice ol' pee cup truck. I'm happy that y'all got a nice one for a change. SCORE! WOO-HOO 🤠
I wished I had something like that. My dream truck.
If I had the money I’d buy it.
U Can’t Find a Good Manual Transmission 1-Ton Dully.
It’s got the little man’s approval what more do you need?😂
LOVE IT SAM, WOULD LIKE TO BUY IT SAM. GOD BLESS ALL YAL.

Good Battiers, fix Power Sterring ,
Sam that would make a heck of a firewood truck 👍
There’s a place online called Genos Garage that sells only dodge parts for all generations
Wow you just casually scooped up a unicorn and act like it just another day. Glad your going to save it, if you just don't want to mess with I'll take it off your hands.
I’d move the front tires on the rear give them a chance of not getting worse.
My flares are the oem plastic dodge Mopar crap still not using them
Really i wonder if it is a different setup or why would it not function,i say that because my 2000 dodge ram laramie slt quad cab long bed magnum V8 46 RH automatic overdrive transmission manual shift transfer case lever on the floor gloss black with most of the white pinstripe 1500 4x4 fasten belts light works, headlight warning buzzer works and the check engine light and brake light when you first turn on the ignition key all work

What does LIGHT amount of smoke out the oilfill cap mean? Should i be concerned!
VP44 with a G56?! As long as the KDP has been dealt with, this truck will never die. The drive-train will outlast the body.
24valves don’t have issue with kdp
If they monkeyed with the rear diff, you should confirm the ratio matches the front diff. Just saying...
Great shirt sam lol
dream truck right there
Great videos and great trucks!
Have you ever installed free spin hubs on a 2nd gen?
Thanks
I had a truck with them on it. Nice upgrade
I don’t have a clue what you paid for that rig but if I was in a position to offer I’d give a pretty penny and a kidney at this point
Sheeeeeeeeeees a keeper...
Like they all say, It ran when I parked it. Of course it will run.
Put A Good wax on it Just Like New.&
A Better Truck than the New 1’s.
Callahan is gonna be the star of the show real soon! Hand him a wrench n look out
What song and who was that playing while you pressure washed?
Think we enjoy it as well
Just got me a 95 12 valve dually for 6800 dollars needs a little love but runs 70 mph no problem and has ac
My 2002 2500 single rear wheel I just sold cause it was a rust bucket had a 56 block and so did my buddy’s 2002 3500 dialog as far as I know there is no 53 blocks in the 2002 models
If you’re looking to part the truck out, I’d be interested in the chassis and box. Thanks have a good day.
I only part out wrecked trucks to build trucks here. Sorry appreciate the offer tho
que era la lata amarillo que le puso en el chasis 5.39 ?
THEY ALL NEED TENDER LOVING CARE ❤❤
Track bar bushings

Teach em young...... and a little water from a tap wont hurt anyone lol
ericonelove asked the same question I would like to know…what were you spraying the frame/undercarriage with?
Looks like oven cleaner
