From the generation 1 saw to the generation 5 saw, is this the best of the best?

  • This was literally the first time this saw had ever cut any wood. After the video I used the rest of the wood to adjust out the saw. I made this saw as a super portable saw.
The head-rig was built to come apart in pieces. The engine unbolts from the head-rig frame. The tires come off as well as the fender. One healthy guy can take it apart and put it back together and start sawing without making any needed adjustments. The track was built in three ten ft. sections that had connectors/segments that I fabricated up also. An old sourdough bought this saw. He wanted to build log cabins up the Koyukuk River in Alaska. He needed a saw that was portable enough to put in a boat. He had a river boat that was big enough to put a small house on so he had plenty of room for the saw and all his supplies for the summer. Sadly I never had a chance to go see his project.
Anyway, I wanted to make a dual shot video of the saw but somewhere between 2006 and 2024 the second camera footage was lost. That's why you see me moving another camera around. I did find my dual camera footage of the dredging video I produced in 2006 and I re-edited it and uploaded in hi def several months ago to Rumble. It's called “Finding Gold in Tailings” (Link in description)
    Thanks for watching, Old Rocker
PS: If everything goes well and I get back to work I might start building the Gen5 saw again. I've been on comp for almost 3 years now and hopefully I will be released soon to go back to work.
